From my baby's teacher, Ms. Vogel, to the assistant dean and head dean, Mr. Gibson, the communication has been absolutely amazing. Any concerns we've had have been handled with so much understanding, respect, and care. Coming from CCSD this may seem like a better choice but at least with CCSD there are policies and procedures in place that are communicated in a timely manner which just isnt the case here. Everyday feels stressful for my child and I, and if you are lucky enough for someone at the front desk to answer the phone be prepared to never receive a call back from the appropriate person you're trying to reach or clear resolution on the issue.

The coolest gesture was to gift every graduate a certificate with a picture of their cap and gown portrait. WOW !! Kindergarten through 2nd were my best years here, every other year after were not the best. A thing currently wrong about this school is that students are too scared to tell any staff about which students are bullying or possibly threatening them which upsets me because the staff could help a lot. Most of the kids here are horrible, racist and rude and staff are barely doing ANYTHING about it! I mean come on? There are students scared to come to school because some of these students are so rude? Ive seen some kids get bullied so much the past couple years and if i was them i wouldn't want to come to school at all. The education here i feel is a bit below average, students here are smart but some teachers are bad at explaining and shy students are afraid to ask for help. I'm a fast learner but sometimes I get stuck on something and just never learn the topic. Teachers need to focus on certain students that may need the extra help so possibly give more tutoring opportunities for students? This is the worst school ever. My daughter has been bullied for a while now and the school did…read morenothing to protect my child. Instead of hearing what my daughter had to say they asked the bullier and his friend if my daughter was the bully. My daughter is super sweet she has never gotten into trouble. My child does not want to go this school anymore. They say they are against bullies but in truth they really don't give 2 shits. My child has told me that she does not feel safe and refused to go to school this week. She has told her teacher which he has made her switch tables to get away from the kid. He has been bullying my child and making rude remarks due to her birthmark on her forehead stating did your mom drop you on your face when you were a baby or did she hit you with the frying pan. We have tried to have a one on one with the school but they refused. They talked to my child without a parent present, she felt as if they were retaliated her for being honest. They would not take my child's statement that she has done nothing wrong. They asked the bullies friend and of course being a friend is going to stick up for them. They didn't even talk to her teacher about this, my child has developed anxiety due to this torment and how they treat her. This is by far the worst school to send your child to. They are not there for the kids that are getting picked on. Don't send your child to this school if you care for their safety. My daughter does not feel safe at all with this school. Every morning I fear for the lives of the kids walking to school and the cross guards as there is no stop light and the adults don't know how to drive. The parking lots and drop off are dangerous and a nightmare. People will park in the rows behind your car. The teachers have been nice so far, but My oldest child is very bored and has had a subpar substitute for the last 3 weeks to a month. I've talked to the teachers but it hasn't helped give my eldest a more challenging curriculum, so we supplement at home. I registered for school in July, got a confirmation, but had to re-register on the first day as NO information was sent to our home. We arrived 30 min early and there was still a large line. We were then told after an hour of waiting that my kids couldn't start until the day after. I was told the day my child started that his uniform top was wrong color but no info on any papers they gave us, the handbook, or online said dark blue for kinder. I had to go out and buy all new shirts. We are not wanting but not rich either, and with 2 kids plus other supplies needed, it was still a strain on the budget. Every week there are requests for donations. If you donate every time they ask, you would be able to hire a tutor. If the rest of this year is bad, I might home school next year.

They really care about educating the children. They make sure they make it a fun environment, so the children feel at ease. Making it easier for them to learn new information. This school seems very advanced and up to date with their teachings and their technology. Since attending this school, I've noticed my child is a bit more advanced on the academic side compared to her other peers that go to regular in person public schools. Nothing against public schools, this school just works out for us as a family. This school uses real life scenarios in their quarterly projects. For example, they need to research about their dream vacation and how much it cost in real time and create a budget, etc. Surprisingly, as parents, after realizing her dream vacation was definitely more doable budget wise, we were able to actually take her on that dream vacation in less than a year's time. It not only teaches the students, but every assignment and project teaches us as parents as well. We highly recommend this charter school.
