Matrix stood out amongst the others initially for their fair pricing and the fact they didn't charge double drive time like so many other moving companies. I am happy to report that I chose Matrix Moving for my recent move and Vlad and his team exceeded all expectations and I am very happy with my experience. From the weeks leading up to the move date until the final papers were signed at the end of the job, Vlad was extremely helpful and responsive to all my questions and even took the time to do a walkthrough of my previous place to ensure there were no surprises on moving day (not something any other company I used in the past did). The crew of three that did the job was fast and efficient and didn't waste any time. Very considerate and aware they were on the customer's dime. Things that had me a little apprehensive leading up to the move (we had to contend with trash day and some home theater equipment) the team handle with ease and care. Charged Nearly $2,000 Over Quote -- Breach of Contract, Legal Action Pending…read more We were quoted $4,459 for our project, which we accepted despite our budget being lower. We even cleared the entire space beforehand to help expedite their process and reduce costs. However, we were shocked to be charged over $6,400--nearly $2,000 more than agreed. We understand it's not always going to 100% reflect the quote, but there was no prior notice or written approval of extra charges. When we questioned the overage, they claimed they gave us "their most generous discount to date," which was misleading and unacceptable. We disputed the charge with American Express, but were told the final bill they gave us after the work counted as "written notice," despite no prior communication about the increase. This is unfair and contradicts their own contract terms. After consulting with an attorney, we were advised the company is in breach of contract. If they do not refund the overage and honor the original quote, we are fully prepared to take legal action. This review is a final effort to resolve the matter before going to court. Future clients, proceed with caution--get everything in writing.
