This is a very approachable and safe place to stay in downtown Tupingato if you are in the area…read more Make sure you understand this is a small, small hotel. The rooms are like matchboxes - barely enough room to walk around the beds, no chairs and you pretty much have to sit in the main breakfast area to drink beverages as that is what you agreed to when you sign in. They don't want anybody spilling wine on their nice white comforters in the bedroom. The air conditioning works well, meaning it is very cold, but our room number seven had a problem with it where it seemed like it was not able to get the air out and making a really weird noise all night long. It required earplugs to block out the noise It is in the center part of town and it pretty much dies late at night and because the rooms are all interior and none face the street it is very quiet. Breakfasts are very adequate and unlike most places they offer cheese and ham as well as torticas which are basically baked discs of pie dough which are tastier than they sound. They also have a few spreads - lije dulce de leche, peach jam, fresh fruit, bread, Kiefer which is liquid yogurt, hot cocoa powder, hot milk, coffee and tea. The staff is super nice and goes out of their way to help you get glasses, open your wine or beer etc. We needed to get our rental car exchanged and they made the phone call and help us coordinate that. The only reason I cannot give them five stars if they were not clear at all on their reservation form regarding payment method - they claim that they can only take cash - however it says nothing to that effect on the reservation form. Also, in Argentina all hotels for foreigners are required to not charge the IVA tax if the person pays with a credit card or debit card. They tried to tell us that they could not accept debit cards and that they would still get charged the same as a credit card. Bottom line they were trying to keep the IVA tax for themselves and we did not stand for it since we had a written paper ftom thethat showed saying that they were supposed to get the 21% I VA returned to us.

We had a nice stay at this hotel while visiting Mendoza. We wanted to stay at a hotel in Mendoza…read morecity, in a central location from where we could access the wineries and restaurants we planned to visit. This hotel is a 5-star, luxury hotel and although affordable for people paying with US$ or €, it's pricey for local standards. Our room was pretty spacious and even though we had two queen beds, it didn't feel too cramped. The bathroom had a separate shower and bathtub and they provide basic toiletries including body lotion. The bed was pretty comfortable but the pillows were not as great. They don't provide robes nor slippers which is odd for a hotel of this standard. The rooms have amazing views of the mountains. They have a small gym with a few cardio machines, some free weights and a multipurpose weight machine. Adjacent to the gym there is also a small pool which gets pretty packed especially in the early evening as people make their way back from the wineries. The breakfast is served at their main restaurant and it was fantastic. They have pastries, different kinds of breads and cold cuts, hot items such as eggs, yogurts, etc and even some sparkling wine for those looking to get a head start in their wine tasting. They do also offer espresso drinks free of charge and their coffee is nice and strong. I don't recommend making any airport transportation or remis arrangements through the concierge as the prices they quote are so much higher when compared to those you can get at the airport or even arrange yourself online through private companies. Make sure to pay for your stay with your foreign credit card that way you don't avoid having to pay the tax on the room stay.

On my last night, I asked for a taxi to be called 30 minutes in advance, 45 minutes later the host asked me if I had the Uber app. There was then no doorman to help me with my luggage. Would not stay here ever again.

The rooms are large and spacious and are well appointed. We especially enjoyed the delicious bottle of Malbec in our room. The private plunge pool and veranda overlooking the Andes with outdoor shower were incredible. We were lucky enough to attend a private Tango show and wine tasting during our stay. Some of the expertly trained staff including Leo, Christian, Barbara and Juan Carlos catered to our every need. One evening we had room service on top of our casita and watched the sunset from our roof. We have stayed in many wonderful lodges in Africa and Relais and Chateau in Europe but our group of four all felt the Cavas Wine Lodge really exceeds all of them. We hope someday to return with our family.

We ended up checking in at midnight due to travel issues and with no luggage. They checked us in quickly, provided toiletries along with toothbrush (but the toothbrush started losing bristles while I was brushing.. Like in my mouth! Lol) Downside: rooms were super tiny, even my friend who paid an upgraded price for a studio was super small. Beds not so comfortable. Rooms didn't match with the rest of the hotel. Upside: still liked the location, staff and Breakfast included.

This is the best place in my opinion to stay when visiting Mendoza, Argentina…read more The hotel is centrally located in the city centre and everything is within walking distance. There is a nice park a few blocks away and shops, restaurants are just outside the door. This hotel does have a casino built into the building, accessible through the street entrance or through the lobby. The hotel itself is very nice, as expected when staying at a Sheraton property. Staff are very helpful and speak very well in English, for those travelers who do not speak Spanish. The lobby is very clean and modern, as are the rooms! The hotel is one of the higher buildings in downtown Mendoza, so you do get a nice view of the city if you are on a higher floor. There is a lounge are with wine and beer with some appetizers near the lobby. The breakfast buffet is also very good with many traditional items from around the world. Eggs, fruit, pastries, yoghurt, etc. The quality of the foods are very nice and taste great! As for the rooms itself, they are very nice and clean. Modern, yet classy. The price point for these rooms are incredible, as I got my room well in advanced and stated about 7 days. My average price was a around 100 USD a night. The pool area is a bit warm since it's inside a glass room. The pool area seemed very hot and thus warmed up the pool like a giant warm bathtub. It was better than nothing, but still warm. There is a work out room with weights and cardio equipment. Locker room area with lockers and showers to use while you're in the workout/pool lounge area. There are outdoor terrace chaise lounge chairs to lay out and sun bathe. I stayed on the 9th floor and had amazing views. We did have a rental car and parked in the garage, which was very tight and limited, which was located in the basement. I think the overall experience is great and the location was perfect!
