The young women who run the classes are so good at what they do - not just giving the class instructions from one exercise to the next, they are truly Motivators! These are not the easiest of classes, but if they were easy then it wouldn't be exercise. The instructors constant motivation is key to getting through. The enthusiastic yet calm, supportive, non-judgmental instructors, make a point of getting to know the class participants' names and level of fitness. They offer personalized corrections and modifications when necessary. There are classes all day, so if you can fit these classes into your schedule and budget, it is really worth it.

I signed up for the first time free class and went with a group of 3. The front desk was courteous, helpful, and there was enough storage space for belongings. Probably due to it being a small class less than 10, our instructor was able to give hands-on help / form correction, and easy to understand instructions even for us beginners. Although hard (i was using muscles I never knew existed lol!) I felt great at the end! My group and I loved our session and would definitely go back again

Lauren took her time with showing us the series of moves both at the barre and on the mat which was much appreciated since it's been a while since I've taken a barre class. You'll need grippy socks for barre classes which are sold at the studio for about $13. They lock the door after class begins which will be a challenge for me since i'm always late lol! I am so happy this studio opened in my town! I have never done yoga before (I have always been a…read morerunner.) but after moving to Skillman I wanted to try something new indoors for the winter instead of the traditional treadmill at the gym. This studio offers all types of classes for yoga, barre, meditation, etc. Lindsey and her staff were very helpful and walked me through which each class offered before I began. I didn't know anything about yoga or what anything meant! I started with the heated slow flow, but have been attending Vinyasa and heated power flow as well! I love the heated classes, they are so comforting (and they are a pretty dry heat.) You can really work up a sweat in some of these classes! There are always candles (fake of course for safety) and essential oils running, so the ambiance is very nice and relaxing. Booking and scheduling is very easy, can be done either through the website or through the MINDBODY App. You can schedule or cancel at any time without a penalty, which is nice when my personal schedule is not consistent. The classes can be purchased in bulk for a discount, individually, or as an unlimited package. I first tried the two week unlimited trial period, which was great. It allowed me to give it a fair chance without an expensive and long term commitment to see if I really enjoyed it. Here we are , 2 months later and I go between 2-3 times per week! I'm so happy I tried yoga and at such an awesome studio! Thank you! :)

CorePower Yoga on Walnut Street feels like one of the more established fitness studios in the…read moreneighborhood, and I have always liked its warm, easygoing atmosphere. Across roughly 12 classes within the broader CorePower network, this location has stood out for its welcoming teachers, friendly students, and cozy feel. I have also taken the Sculpt classes here and found them challenging, well-run, and genuinely enjoyable. Michael remains my favorite instructor, though I have also taken Brian's class and found him excellent. Both bring substantial teaching experience, a strong understanding of physiology, and the calm judgment that comes from knowing how the body moves. Their classes feel thoughtful and purposeful, and I have always enjoyed learning from them. Physically, the studio has sometimes felt a little tired, particularly the locker room areas, though I have not visited recently enough to know whether those spaces have been updated. I have noticed something similar at other CorePower locations, so I mention it mainly as constructive feedback for management rather than a serious complaint. The teaching, atmosphere, and kindness of the people have always mattered far more to me, and I hope to return when my budget is more accommodating.

I would check out HPY Philly- they have awesome heated classes, and much nicer instructors (and they are a small local business unlike CP)!

While it's challenging physically, I always leave feeling very empowered and encouraged. If it is your first time or even first 15 times going I recommend taking the "Starter50" or "Foundation50" class. There are very precise movements included in the classes and in order to prevent injury or feeling overwhelmed, it's probably best to familiarize yourself with the Reformer machine and typical movements included in Pilates. The class is typically representative of the diversity in Philadelphia and there are people of many different body sizes/shapes and fitness levels present. The instructors have always introduced themselves to me and asked (in a non-threatening or embarrassing way) if I need modifications. I do not feel overwhelmed or judged during class which is something I am very critical of in a studio. If you're on the fence about trying I highly recommend!
