Little did I know how much the teachers here would bring me to love the sweat and stress-relief of Baptiste Power Yoga. All through the lockdown of last spring, they had options for yogis of all flavors: pre-recorded audio classes, live virtual classes, guided meditations, etc. I was ecstatic when they reopened the studio for in-person classes a few months ago. The studio is bright and clean, the staff (all of them!) warm and welcoming. The class sizes are smaller due to COVID restrictions, but safety is their priority and it is truly appreciated. You won't find me on the mat anywhere else!

The essential oils were so soothing. At the end of the session we stayed in Viparita Karani, and she gave everyone eye pillows :) Also, Kim makes organic yoga mat cleaning wipes and kindly handed them out at the end if the session. I'm trying to develop my crow pose and master dolphin/learn scorpion pose. Kim stayed an extra 10 minutes after class with me teaching/practicing my technique.

I'd spent a…read moreyear doing resistance training before I tried Bikram again, and I wanted to see if strengthening the back and core would help. Surprise surprise it's still not for me. Too painful for my back. None of that is the studio's fault of course. I think instructors have an obligation to check in with students when they're new members or when something doesn't go right, like significant pain during a class. Everyone is very nice; but this studio is missing something--I like at least getting to know the instructors. That's not a thing here--it feels robotic and impersonal.
