I was a customer at the heights for most of my 20s. When they had some issues and upgrades happening I switched over to CF. It's clean, new, and a younger clientele in generally very good shape. I find that it inspires me to work out that little bit harder and it's nice being around people my age. It reminds me of the Mizzou Rec center but obviously very, very different in many ways. IYKYK The sauna is very nice and other than the sink area and sometimes the shower, the locker rooms are kept surprisingly clean. They do a fairly good job of fixing broken machines except the drinking fountains currently haven't worked right for over 6 months, the dryers in the bathroom are often and continue to be broken, but broken machines seem to get fixed quicker. Obviously it gets mobbed around 5-7pm on weekdays. If you can't work around to get a good work out in, avoid those times. I'm not sure this spot would ever cap their capacity or memberships. All in all I love this spot and will continue to go. It fits the bill for convenience, clientele vibe, and machine/service options read more

Been a member of club fitness for approx 8 years. Prices keep raising but more amenities. This location recently for rid of their cardio movie theater and burn zone. Theater made into stretch and recovery room. Burn zone created more floor space, which was needed. But as I mentioned- more amenities so either pay more if you are grandfathered into your price. Or skip those. Also offer group classes and tanning/ massage chairs. Has sauna. Gets very crowded but overall good gym for basic self sufficient workouts. read more

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it did not get better :( I ended up leaving Club Fitness mainly because of how busy it got. The parking lot is completely packed each evening. Even during off hours it was crowded. I felt completely uncomfortable there with the number of people not wiping down machines or wearing masks improperly. There were so many people that I couldn't walk (or even LOOK) away from the equipment I was using without someone taking it or trying to "work in" with me, which is completely inappropriate during a pandemic. During one trip, a patron even yelled at me for not sharing the leg press machine and threatened to harm my significant other who was with me. Staff asked him to calm down but that was the only action taken. They also never got any weight trees which made it even more difficult to distance from other patrons - you have to roam around the gym searching for plates which are on machines being actively used since there are no separate trees to place them. There was also a lack of handle attachments for the cable machines. I stopped doing anything with the rope or straight bar handle because it always took 10 minutes just to track them down. For awhile, I went to some of the smaller Club Fitnesses to avoid the crowd but two got shut down - Delmar and Hampton - and the one in Dogtown is just not very nice. I ended up driving to Rock Hill from CWE to go to the gym. I switched to another gym. I do NOT miss the crowds at all. I do miss the nice equipment at Club Fitness and some of the amenities. Their cardio equipment is top notch compared to other gyms in the area. read more

It's not a bad gym if you're a beginner and/or can go during non-peak hours. However, if you're a seasoned lifter or have to go during peak hours look elsewhere. The gym only cares about profit and has severely oversold memberships to the point you will wait in line for 10+ min for basic equipment. The gym etiquette is trash. People will use equipment for 30+ minutes when there's 1 of the machine, will sit on equipment on their phones, and work off the rack and block it. Additionally it's not great for women. I've had men take plates off my machine mid-set, I've been told men have been looking down my shirt on a few occasions, and there's been men getting in fights in the parking lot. The staff has no clue what they are doing. I've seen a manager putting clips on smith machines (iykyk) or are really bratty to customers who check in while ignoring those who don't. read more

Honestly it's a decent gym but their amenities are always "out of service" and YOU CANT EVEN CALL THE GYM to check if the sauna is working, for example, before you drive clear there. That's so stupid. There's just a phone tree and you can't actually talk to anyone. 3-24-24 12-1am There's a man lurking around the locker room for hours and never hit the floor to workout. After my workout I went to shower he followed but was fully clothed so I know he wasn't showing. He went into a shower station adjacent to me and I heard him saying "let me see that, stop teasing me." I acted like I didn't hear it and quickly exited the premises I'm a grown man and couldn't believe what was happening and I will never return to this maplewood location again because of it. I was totally surprised by this Club Fitness. I've belonged to club fitness in the past, but this location is brand new with tons of work out options. Spin: They have a few spin instructor classes with brand new bikes, plus virtual classes with tons of times to choose from. I'm sure they'll add more instructor classes as the volume increases, but the virtual classes are actually really great! The pulse room: Offers a variety of total body exercises in a rotation. If it's not during the room times, you can go in anytime with the right membership. Burn Zone: knockoff orange theory with the addition of a core station at a fraction of the price. It's a total steal for the price and is an amazing total body workout. They said they'll add more times as volume increases, but they do have a workout on the monitor if you can't make the class times. Hydromassage: I did not think I would be a fan, but the hydromassage is soooo nice and truly helps prevent sore muscles. It's a great way to reward yourself after a workout! read more

Membership benefits seem to constantly shrink rather than expand. They charge for the massage chairs now, which have been free since I joined years ago, but there's no real reason for it. The chairs are never full. They got rid of the heavy bags, too. Cancellations are made intentionally difficult. Staff is incredibly slow to do anything or respond to customer needs. They make you download an app to get in, no more key fobs. I can only assume they're doing it to collect and sell data. The app is completely useless and inconvenient. It would have been fine as an option, but making it mandatory is annoying. Overall it's been a fairly bad experience, but there's not much else in the area, so I'm stuck there for the time being. It just feels like I'm being fleeced every time I see that monthly payment hit my bank account. read more

This club was nice when it was new but it has really gone downhill. The only reason I joined was because of the spinning room but that has since been removed. They kept two of the spin bikes but they are not serviced properly. Now one is missing a pedal and unusable so there's only one. They waste a ton of space on areas no one uses - like when they used to have a room that played movies while you worked out that is now a stretch and recovery room. What a waste! Bring back some more spin bikes or spin classes. I know you get what you pay for and this club is pretty cheap, but honestly it's not even worth that. read more

The cancellation policy is ridiculous. It is almost impossible to cancel without crawling through ridiculous hoops that force you to go to a club in person or mail a certified letter of which neither will always be accepted. I've had to do this multiple times and have still been charged for my membership with no chance at seeing that money again. Absurd. read more

Brand New Club Fitness location within the St. Louis Area! Fully loaded with a ton of options for novice gym goers to the elite. You can't go wrong with this location. Locker Rooms are spacious and even include a sauna within them. Not to mention a brand new concept known as the Cardio Theater; I haven't seen this one done before within a gym. Can you say "DA BOMB" my first time trying this location was during the open house and that was just a bit much for me. Too loud and too much going on..But during regular times it's the best inexpensive gym I've been to in the area..They have four different membership packages so there is something to fit every budget . This gym is 24/hours but I've never tried it after staff hours. The equipment is all new and there is a plethora of classes. You can even enter the room with no instructor and work away. They do have a sauna in the locker room for some after workout relaxation. read more

gym is well-equipped, staff is great, but dry sauna needs to be cleaned and updated. it is not working almost 100% of the time over the past six months. I go there because it is the closest CF with a dry sauna. over the last six months I have been driving an extra 20 mins each way to goto a location where the sauna is clean and always works. read more

This gym was great when it first opened a couple of years ago, the problem is that they closed a couple of other Club Fitness locations. So now you have three club memberships thrown into one. It's too crowded, even in the off hours. There is something wrong with that building, when we first signed up (before pandemic), it was Labor Day weekend, a huge thunderstorms came through, when I went to club the following morning there were pails everywhere, collecting water. Push forward to November 2021, I go to take a cycling class and there is a sign on the door of the Cycling Class room, there will be no more cycling classes at the Maplewood location. Not only did they not notify people on their mobile app or email, I had to find out that they moved the cycling class to Hampton location from one of the club members. Apparently something is wrong with cycling room, (poor renovation?)possibly with that whole corner of the building. I have since signed up at The Edge, brand new building, in Shrewsbury awesome cycling classes, big windows with beautiful natural light. The equipment is great, well maintained, plenty of group classes, three different memberships to fit your particular needs. read more

I have been a member over 15 years every year then pull something away from you. The managers don't even care about it. Club Fitness made a decision start stripping amenities away from people should be grandfathered in. I just left the club and was dealing with a manager that didn't have a name tag on. She said you can't work out here because they change the policy, then she tried to sell me a premium policy. I told her I just moved from one location and just change my address. She said that policy does not work that way. Her attitude was bad and after I left it made me feel like I was just a piece of money in her pocket. Now I look at all the reviews and I am not the only one. I would really look at a different gym that cares about there people not just the money they can make off of you. read more

The amenities and equipment are amazing, as well as the staff. The only BIG issue I had was with the members not wiping down equipment, and walking all around the gym without a mask. If this was a requirement I would feel way more comfortable going back since it's so close to home. However for those of us who care about safety in terms of COVID, this is not the place to workout. read more

Beware, when you sign up you are signing a twelve month contract that you can "cancel anytime" but you have to pay a fee equivalent to the cost of three months to cancel (but you can only use the gym for thirty more days). And you have to go in person to cancel. Nice gym and equipment but so crowded it's hard to get equipment you want. read more

They're taking away tanning, child care, and red light therapy from my membership that I'm only 4 months into (a year contract). Worst service possible. We're in the middle of a pandemic and they started charging me again. I had the full membership for 24 hr access. The gym is no longer open 24 hours. I went to the gym to cancel my membership because they broke our agreement. 24 hour access was part of it. The old woman at the desk said "it's not our fault" and "we didn't break the agreement". I looked around. No one working out is wearing a mask. Looks like a prime covid infection zone in there. They are only required to wear a mask on entry. The woman told me the only way to get out of my contract is to pay $60. These people gutter rats. Do not get a membership here. UPDATE: They charged me another month of fees 11 days after I cancelled. Then told me they'd be charging me the next months fees as well bringing my total for cancelling over $100. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE. They do not care about you or that there's a pandemic they just care about squeezing as much money out of you as possible. read more

This location is amazing. Two months old as of this review. The manger, Jason, was incredibly patient and respectful as my friend and I tried to wrangle her toddler so she could see the gym and sign up for membership. He showed us the women's area and let us in. He then stepped out of the whole area and waited for us. I wouldn't have considered it inappropriate if he'd gone in with us since it wasn't a private area and he WAS showing us around, but I deeply appreciated his respect of us. He also gave the energetic toddler markers and paper to keep him busy while his mom signed up. Several squat racks and lots of room to move in the weight area. Also newer treadmills with very flexible decks for those of us with chronic pain issues. Highly recommend! read more

Today when I tried the Pulse studio I found that of the six people in there only myself and one other person was actually doing the Pulse workout (which I do pay extra for every month,) the other four people were there doing their own thing and that had them monopolizing several sets of weights the entire time which prevented me from doing two or more of the exercises that were part of today's pulse workout. Yes, did attempt to skip an exercise and come back to it in order to complete the work out: that didn't work. Yes I did confirm with the front desk employee that the pulse studio was intended for the pulse workouts, when I alerted him to today's situation He just shrugged and said well there's nothing I can do it's their work out. Obviously I did not expect him to jump over the desk and kick everybody out of the studio but if this is what I can expect any other time I try to use this feature of my membership There is no value in it for me. In general club fitness basic membership is what you get but after today's experience wouldn't recommend the pulse studio tiered membership to anybody. read more

So far, one of my favorite Club Fitness locations. The Collinsville, IL location has at least one of everything I need for my workout. The only thing this place is missing is an abdominal machine - which for somebody like me with back problems, is very important because I cannot use use the "crunch" machine. This club would be perfect and would meet all of my needs if it had this. In contrast to the Brentwood location (which is VERY small and a constant fight for equipment with very few options and everything crammed in SO close together) this has more space and more Arc Trainers. I love Arc Trainers! Secondly, the people here leave you alone. I get so tired of people trying to tell me what to do or how to do certain things or trying to sell me a personal trainer. I've lost 90lbs on my own and I am in pretty good shape, I do not need a trainer - stop trying to sell me one (Brentwood location does this...). This one also has childcare - which for me is important! More to come as I test out the other locations. read more

PROs: Nice equipment that is well-maintained and offers pretty much anything anybody would like. Staff is friendly. Clean, good overall facilities. Affordable. Not many people dressed up (other than the guys in their cut off tank tops showing off their lats to each other while all thinking the ladies care) and carrying around enough luggage to go to Europe for 2 weeks from one station to another. CONs: There are a fair number of people working out there, at least i the mornings, wearing face shields rather than masks. This means they are simply concentrating any possible Covid virus in their breath directly onto the equipment that you will then use next. Also, quite a few people wearing masks as chin guards or under their noses. Some of these shield wearers and under-nose maskers are women, but most are guys who are pumped up and pace around with their arms out thinking they are Man-Gods built from iron and carrying around whey-infused gallons of water. Also, it has become much more crowded since CF closed their Rock Hill location. The size is now inadequate for peak periods. I may quit because the staff does not enforce proper mask wearing. I'm no snowflake, I just think these 15% or people in the Maplewood CF who wear useless shields or gators under their noses put the rest of us at risk. Otherwise, I would rate 5 stars. read more

Make sure you check your contracts if you decide to cancel your membership because of health they will not let you cancel and will make you pay an installment fee or move away with a doctors note saying you can no longer work out not matter what situation. I now have to pay a fee of over $160 in less then three days with no help from customer service other then to say leave my account open and not go when I pay monthly read more

I was a member for only 6 months before I wanted to cancel. I'm pregnant and have a daughter and my babysitter moved an hour away, making it impossible for me to continue going. I asked the staff during the cancellation process if I was going to get charged for cancelling before my membership was up and she said no, so I proceeded to cancel. A week later, here I am getting charged over $100. I tried to message them on both their website and via email multiple times and still no response. If I had known I was going to get charged, I would have just froze my account and figured something else out. Very disappointing. If you're okay with poor service by staff than this place is for you. read more
