Unfortunately almost all the shops were closed for 2 hours for lunch. Still a sweet place to walk around for a bit. So we did not really see much but the atmosphere was nice. Just note that there are limited pedestrian crossings of the main thoroughfare to get back to the boat dock.

During the 11th and 12th centuries, Chremis, as it was then called, was almost as large as Vienna. Krems is the primary producer of Marillenschnaps, an apricot brandy. Lots of gorgeous old buildings and a fairly large pedestrian zone dotted with shopping on both sides. There are plenty of nice cafes and places to have a nice meal or try some good wine.
