This station certainly serves its purpose. It is relatively small making it very easy to navigate…read more In spite of its size, however, there is a manned ticket counter and there are routes that can be accessed going to several locations. It is somewhat interesting architecturally with high arching ceilings, granite construction and intriguing reliefs in various places. The schedule board is well placed and finding platforms is no problem at all. The amenities are limited but there are at least places to buy food and drink to take away. In general, I thought this station was nice enough and easy to use. It is an quick walk to and from city centre making it a great way to begin and/or end a visit to Brno.

Definitely not as shiny nor as big as its counterpart in Prague, but it gets the job done. There…read moreare places to get your coffee and baked goods. If you want more dining and shopping options, across the street from the station is a supermarket and places to grab a bite to eat. There is free wi-fi, a waiting room and lockers you can rent/hire if you want to leave your luggage and explore the city. Be aware the lockers only accept 10 and 20 Czech koruna coins, and there is no change machine! (I bought a coffee to get my change). 60 Kč gets you the smallest locker which fit my overstuffed 40 liter backpack.

While I do not have to take the U-Bahn to get to school, since this station is closest to my flat, if I need to get almost anywhere else not in immediate walking distance, this is the station I go to. Like I said earlier, the station is very simple as is the architecture, but I like that there are those windows to let some daylight into the station. There are two entrances, on on the far side of the exhibition center, and another near the Prater amusement park garage. Right across the cross walk from Motel One. Platform is the kind where trains arrive on both sides, so not one where you can accidentally end up on the wrong side, and take a train in the wrong direction. Elevators on both sides, but from what I have seen, the elevator on the Prater side has a tendency to get stuck. One time the thing broke while I was walking down the stairs next to it. The good news, however, is that in both cases, when I returned in a few hours, there was already a technician working on it. Escalator only on the Messe side. There is a station supervisors office in the station, but in the times I have been to that side of the station, the office was closed. Station is clean! it is not shiny, and I would not eat off the ground, but relative to some other train stations I have seen around the world, this one is pretty neat.

This is empress Sissi I. of Austria, one of the most famous European monarchs. Besides you have lots of modern restaurants and shops. But I have to say, after all those months of existence after renovation and after lots of negative reviews - the elevators are still stupid, no improvements concerning labelling at all - the post office became even worse, still the same stupid head of the post office Yesterday the head of the post office complaned because a lady just asked whether she might have some more tape for her parcel. People were lined up far outside the post office - is this the first Christmas they experience?! One of the clerks did not want to sell a single stamp to a lady!!!! Everything else is still quite ok. One day they will have injuries at that stupid post office, too many people queued up, even handicapped, people with baby cards and wheelchairs. Even the police showed up because there were so many people - security leak!!!! At least somebody has to get injured, till they react!!!

Shopping is on offer too. The bus station is across the street. The station is downtown and a main shopping street starts in the area. Police presence is strong. Metro subway connections including to the International Bus Station. And of course there are trains leaving and arriving from here. Ticket buying and luggage storelage and even bathroom use purchase are automated and efficient. There are also information ppaces for non automated service and information. Wunderbar!!! The Happiness Station sells ice cream. There's a Subway. Crobagerie for baked goods and sandwiches. Weiner Wald for weiners. And a fried fish fast food Nord See or some such. Places to sit and plug in your phone to charge. Good life here.
