Grandma Nell's, to me, is more like a boutique (without the clothing), kind of upscale, where Riverfront Antiques is an actual antique store. Riverfront Antiques to me is more of a classic antique store. Everything from larger furniture, to vendor booths with smalls, to an upstairs room with crusty, dusty, and rusty items. It's well organized and while I didn't buy anything here it's a place I could see checking in on once in a while if I was in the area... I imagine inventory changes now and then with each vendor. The one thing I didn't like. The woman at the counter was on the phone from the minute I walked over from Grandma Nell's to the time I walked out the door to exit Riverfront Antiques. And I was in there for quite a while... I didn't try to listen so it very well could have been a business call. It's just a pet peeve I have so it's something I notice. Like if I'm at the counter at Dunkin' and they are taking care of the people in the drive through first while I'm standing there. Like... Hey! I'm right here! Maybe at least acknolwedge a guy? Hopefully it was just a one off while I happened to be there... From an antiquing standpoint... Definitely worth the time to stop if you are in the Clinton IA area!

It's a typical antique mall style setup with booths belonging to different owners so you will find anything and everything. Not just glassware. The main part of the store is kind of an L shape with a small room cut out on the center that showcases a large display/selection of uranium glass... Probably the biggest collection I've ever seen all in one spot. It's truly impressive. Prices once again vary with the vendors. Some items are high, some are at market, and there are some good deals to be found too. I took home a black glass flower stem frog. I collect different ones of these and use them as pen holders etc. on my tables at home and my desk at work. Definitely not what they were designed for, but it's how I repurpose them...! If you're into thrifting and antiquing... Make sure Ancient Dragon Antiques is on your list if you are in the Clinton IA area!

Grandma Nell's, to me, is more like a boutique (without the clothing), kind of upscale, where Riverfront Antiques is an actual antique store. If not a boutique maybe just a little bougie? There are a few antiques, but mostly a lot of new and already repurposed items... Nothing wrong with any of that... Just wasn't what I was looking for. While this stop wasn't exactly up my alley... It's a nice store and the owner was friendly. I really enjoyed chatting with her a little! And opinions are like... Well you probably know the rest so it can remain unsaid. I'm more of a digger and prefer dusty and rusty... But I can adapt to change I browsed the store and chatted with the owners. Then they offered me a couple of wine samples... I walked out with two bottles of wine! One strawberry rhubarb and one semi-sweet red from two different local wineries... See. I can find something anywhere! Prices range from cheap to some items being a bit on the pricey side. I'd have to say there will be something for everyone. There are so many little rooms so I won't spoil the layout. This was a lot of fun to browse through, as well as supporting local business. We can't wait to go back to That One Place!!!! The lady at the counter was SO sweet. I wish I would have asked for her name. Thank you for letting me take pictures so I can show others this beautiful shop. My only suggestion would be putting a sign off Bluff so people know where it is, I can see how people might not be able to find it. It is between College/18th, and Bluff Elementary. Located on the same side as the Elementary School. Hope this helps. Can't wait to go back.
