There is literally nothing like it for many miles around this underserved recreational area for locals, cottagers, and tourists alike. Restaurant take out/patio food is excellent & creative. Bakery treats wonderful, and the small general store is well stocked with food items. Free WiFi is appreciated in a region without cell service, too.

After that, a quick pump activation by the store attendant and a fill of 87 octane. My sweetie wanted a lotto quick pick ticket...hoping to be a lucky visitor that purchased a ticket...just rolling through a small town. I used my Petro-Canada rewards card for the fuel and lotto purchase. Store staff asked if I wanted to redeem some of my points but I said I'll keep collecting for a free full tank in the future. There was a chuckle from the friendly and courteous attendant. Back on the road again!

I live in Ottawa and camp at Silver lakes a regular park it will be ideal to be able to be picked up from Silver Lake but it is not an option yet on the bus line. I grabbed a warm pretzel, healthy chips and some nuts. Wine....of course. The wines however, were not labeled under correct pricing so sticker shock happened later at the til. It was minus 200 out though so I just wanted to get home. Service was friendly after a bit of a line up. The gentleman worker/cashier told me to come back in summer when the store was cleaner and floors, drier. It looked clean and pleasant to me considering winter and heavy volume. They just have to put all their wines in the right price slots! Getting gas was a breeze. Easy and many pumps. Off a very busy main road and requires patience at rush hour coming in and leaving the lot.
