They denied this as it is not their policy to refund. Whilst I understand a policy, I explained it was a genuine oversight and I would not benefit from a credit as I don't live nearby to use this. One kind manager did contact the owner about this but they refused to give me a refund. My five year old was left in tears as we were unable to then afford an alternative place to book. What an awful money grabbing business!!!! Please don't give them any more of your money!!!

The other problem is that adults should be with their children in the bumper car queue because other children queue jump and the Gambado staff do not sort this out. This is of course very upsetting for children and parents alike. They should have a better queueing system or at least one staff member operating the ride and a second controlling the queue. The clever thing would be a proper queueing system which actually lines people up properly. However today there was a great staff member who actually stopped the queue jumpers and he should be applauded, he also really cared and was great with the children. It is also expensive however it is so good they can happily get away with it.

The staff were more than helpful from the moment I booked until the very end of the night. The food was delicious and the Chef's were able to meet with me in order to discuss requirements. All in all myself, my family and friends and especially my mum had a fantastic evening and I would most certainly book another function again. The following day we collected some of our party belongings that we left behind and ended up staying for a Sunday lunch which was full of atmosphere and most importantly the food was superb.

For me and my two kids to get in was around 10 pounds and we were only there about and hour and a half. In fairness, they would have stayed longer but I can only hack these places for so long. They do have a concessions stand but we didn't have food. They do forbid outside food and drink, though I saw people bringing in their own anyway. Also there is an outdoor area that looked really nice that we didn't get to. I am sure we will make it out there next time. Great place though a bit nerve racking when you can't find your kid in the mazes of craziness that go to the ceiling. All in all it was a good time and we will be checking it out again.

The Watford branch of Gambado is brand new, so everything is sparkling clean and attractive to look at. The whole area is large and well spaced. Taking focal point was a massive playframe. There was a large four-lane slide as well as some of those rotating slides (not sure what it's called). There was a seperate area for under-2s. Tame enough to keep older kids away but still fun for the younger ones. They had large building blocks too, a nice touch. Next to the playframe was a climbing wall. The cafe was okish, nothing too great. Food was well presented but limited in variety. The only hot meal options seemed to be pizza and sandwiches. There were some nice salads too. The cafe had nice seating, transparent rounded chairs in different colours. Very well spaced out tables, not your typical softplay cafe. Prices were a bit on the high side. They had some areas with big chalkboards for the children to scribble on. And another place for musical experimenting, different things to bang on and make sounds. They also had some magnet play. Under some clear glass thingies were magnet shavings, pins etc. that children could pull a magnet over, causing patterns. There was also a fairly large track for dodgem cars. For adults there was a seperate lounge. There were computers with internet access, newspapers etc. It didn't look like children were allowed there, the notice said Adults Only. Strange that, who'd be watching the kids while the parents sat in a seperate area? It cost £15 entrace for me and the kids. By far the most expensive place for this sort of activity. You didn't have to spend any money inside though (unless you want to eat), everything was unlimited. There were plenty of lockers, clean and spacious, to deposit your belongings. It is free to use and you only need a £1 coin cif you want to lock it (it is refunded). Toilets are reasonably clean too, but I don't know if that is because it was a quiet day. Would recommend it if nothing cheaper is close to you. Works out quite expensive for a small family even.

The play area is really compact, as everything is in a self contained cube, covered in strong netting that goes up to 3 levels in height (almost to the ceiling). So whilst its a good use of space, it doesnt leave much room around the edges for parents to sit and have a rest (there was a private party that had most of the tables reserved). At the same time its the only area where children can run from one area to the next so at times it can also get very crowded. When we went we didnt really relax as the only seats were next to a very noisey football game (yes we expected it to be noisey but not to struggle to speak to each other!). There were also trays of food on tables which hadnt been cleared away, so that didn't leave a great first impression either. When you go it might be quieter and cleaner, but at least our children seemed to enjoy it, and its near to where we live so we might go again. But only if we cant find anywhere better!
