A returning customer to get a new stove. They were very good with my situation and needs, their contractor/installer was very good with modding the cabinet size & install of new stove. Has an issue with 1 burner, just way too hot for a new stove. Called the store over this issue and they had a GE tech come to house to check the burner; he was not very good and had an attitude and have to order the part, felt like a run-around. Called store again to explain situation, they sent out a 2nd tech. This time was a totally different story! He was much more professional, had the part with him to boot and took care of the problem with the burner. New stove, defective switch for that burner. My family has been using Clovis Appliance for years in our personal homes and rental homes, as we like to support local, family owned businesses. Moving forward, I will be buying appliances elsewhere. April 12th, we purchased a washer and dryer and refrigerator. We were told they would all be delivered on May 21st. We were told the refrigerator came in with a dent and a new one would arrive on June 12th. When the crew came to deliver the washer and dryer on the 21st, they refused to take it upstairs because they "don't take front loaders upstairs." The employee was extremely rude and condescending, saying that, "because my mom walked into the store knowing which washer and dryer we wanted, they did not think to ask if the delivery was upstairs." Apparently, it was our fault for knowing what we wanted upon entering the store. Ultimately, we had to pay someone else $400 to deliver 3 days later. The refrigerator has been promised on May 21st, June 12th, and June 25th. We were just informed the fridge will not arrive on the 25th. Clovis Appliance's only solution for the problem is for us to pay more money for one of the few refrigerators they have in stock, after I have been without a fridge for nearly a month. Needless to say, the entire experience has been a nightmare and I will not be purchasing from their store again. read more

I like General Electric appliances. Not only is the quality good, but the GE service is top-notch. The repairman is not often needed for these appliances, but when something goes wrong, the repair person who shows up gets the appliance running again and gives good advice. That said, I want to buy GE appliances and I want to buy from the local retailer. That means Clovis Appliance, even though I drive across town to shop there. I like to be greeted at the door and shown exactly what I'm looking for. I like knowledgeable salespeople, quick service and delivery, and reasonable costs. We ordered a washer and dryer the last week of June. They stated, despite COVID, the appliances would be delivered within 6 weeks. At the 8 week mark their receptionist informed us they gave our products to someone else. We called GE (Clovis Appliance is a GE distributor), and they didn't understand why we didn't order from Home Depot. We are now 10 weeks since we paid in full, filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Clovis Appliakce never responded to, and regret supporting this local business. As an added bonus, we now can't get the July 4th prices anymore and the office manager had the audacity to bark at me that she didn't do anything wrong. read more

Since my space is itty-bitty, I prefer the smaller brands manufactured for the European market. Each time I've stopped here I've been assisted by friendly staff who seem to know their inventory inside and out. They also offer free delivery in the area. We purchased a G.E. Advantium microwave\oven from Clovis Appliance in May of 2014 for $2,268.40. We were attracted to this product because of the unique features it had which enabled you to cook things using less energy than a conventional oven. Anyhow, when we decided to make our purchase my wife researched the availability and price at various stores in the Fresno\Clovis area. Clovis Appliance was a little more expensive than Best Buy but we had done business with them in the past and wanted to support a business that was located in Old Town. When we went to Clovis Appliance my wife showed the sales person a printout from Best Buy with the lower price. The sales person said they wouldn't match that price but would double the 5 year warranty on the magnetron to 10 years. We were OK with that and made the purchase. Well in the early part of this year the unit stopped working. I figured it was the magnetron as the other cooking features still worked. We called Clovis Appliance and told them what had happened and they instructed us to call a repairman who they worked with so he could verify our diagnosis of the problem. Well my wife made the call and the repairman told her that we should contact G.E. first so we wouldn't have to pay for a diagnosis twice as G.E. would be the ones who would provide the new magnetron for installation. Well we called G.E., explained everything to them and they said they would send someone out to look at it. They did and their repairman verified our diagnosis and said they would order the part and install it. This was done and we were billed $421.72 which was for the diagnostics, the part, and the installation. The cost of the magnetron was $162.20. We submitted the receipt to Clovis Appliance so they could send it in to the warranty agency. A few weeks later we received a check from the warranty agency in the amount of $89.54, about half of what we paid for the new magnetron. I called Clovis Appliance about this and they said they would look into it. To try to shorten a long story they (Clovis Appliance) eventually got back to us and said that was all we were going to get back. I told them we had done more than $4,500.00 in business with them over the years and I didn't like the way they handled this and that we would never again purchase something from them as they DID NOT stand by the conditions of the warranty that they provided to us. read more

I was having a new house built and chose to supply my own appliances because the home builders choices were not what we wanted. We went to Ferguson's first and the salesman was complacent and unhelpful. My wife found this place and we went to check them out. They were extremely helpful and very flexible as the house was barely in framing stages and they held the appliances for nearly six months. We have been very happy with the GE products and only have had one problem so far and they had a repairman out THE NEXT DAY and fixed two days after that! This purchase consisted of a microwave, dishwasher, range hood, cabinet oven, freestanding 36" professional grade range. Since we have been back to purchase a new refrigerator and two upright freezers. There has been a bit of delay due to COVID but worth the wait. Wish I could give zero stars. Called to purchase a large chest freezer. The lady that answered was soooooo rude. We told her what size we needed and she put us on hold to check. Then came back with the wrong size so we told her again what size we needed. She proceeded to tell us we were wrong that that's not the size we said the first time. The lady was so beyond rude and snappy. We will never spend any money at this place. So much for trying to help out a small business. Maybe they should reconsider who they hire. Clovis Appliance is "top notch", excellent "Customer Service" is provided for their customers. I have been a long time (40+yrs) customer & everytime I am in market for a new appliance I rely on Clovis Appliance. They are honest, locally owned & provide that "Old Fashioned Customer Service" that seems to be a thing of the past with other companies, ie: GE Factory Repair Service. I have all General Electric appliances in my home & never had a problem with Clovis Appliance. The problem I currently have is with General Electric Appliance Warranty Service. My General Electric washing machine was purchased in May 2018. Recently the machine started making noises when running, like the commerical I have fallen, sounds like it is dying & when I would remove the washed clothes, the machine would dump more water in the machine, why, no idea, this happens after the finishing spin/drain cycle. As the washing machine was still under warranty, I phoned General Electric Appliance Warranty Service. I received nothing but a run around from General Electric Warranty Service, with excuses like I am not in their repair area, thats funny as my home is located 1/2 mile from the Fresno City limits. After numerous phone calls to GE Warranty service, they finally wanted to send a repair person from Bakersfield, if I am not in the Fresno service area, I am sure not in Bakersfield's area. I told them no, I wanted a local Fresno Company. Then I was given the phone number of Grey Wolf Industries on Bedford in Fresno, it is an answering service, not a appliance repair company. I then checked the reviews of the companies Grey Wolf Industries/GE sent out to repair appliances, Namely Appliance Service, terrible reviews of their appliance repair service, appliances not repaired, techs not showing up for appointments, surposely ordering parts for repairs never preformed, some consumers still waiting for repair after 1 year. I phoned Clovis Appliance & relayed the problems I was having with regards to repairing my washer, still under GE's manufacturers warranty, Clovis Appliance contacted their GE Serivce Person & I was notified my washer would be replaced with a newer model at no charge to me, with a couple of months warranty still left on my original purchase, the original warranty would transfer to the new washer. Clovis Apliance went to the mat in helping me get a solution to my defective washer. Clovis Appliance is very much appreciated & hopefully GE factory warranty service will get their ducks in a row & provide better customer service as it is hard for dealers like Clovis Appliance to sell a product that does not have good customer warranty service. read more

Ordered a washing machine from this local business in June. After waiting for 10 weeks I contacted their office. Was told to wait longer. After waiting for several months without any contact, I asked for a refund on the deposit made on the appliance. I paid my deposit in cash and the manager said this was completely okay. Now I'm being told they need to verify I never was issued a refund and once verified, they will mail a check. Are you serious? First, you delay my order by months. Secondly, you didn't contact me and update me on the order status, I contacted you. Third, any customer who pays in cash should be issued a refund in cash. PERIOD. It doesn't matter if that makes your book keeping easier to send checks. Judging by the other reviews, this place needs new management. Really need to get it together and actually care about the customers putting money in your businesses pocket. You'd think with covid and businesses going under left and right, small mom and pop shops would be on top of their game. This one is not. Unorganized, unprofessional and just downright annoying to deal with. Save your money and go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Yeah they aren't small biz but you won't have to jump through 100 hoops just to do business. read more

Both times I was treated rudely, when they were told we were just starting to look the first time I was told I needed to act now because of price increases, today we were told we needed to act now because of rebates. When I compared their prices, I found the items less expensive elsewhere. However, 1 place was last years model and the other didn't include delivery, so with the delivery offered by Clovis Appliance, they were actually more cost effective.
