We had to ship my loved one's body from CA to MI (through Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in Modesto,…read moreCA--reviewed separately). One of the partners, Kathy Desmond, called me personally to initiate contact and let me know how everything would be handled and rough estimates of involved costs (which helped immensely). She was courteous and professional. I then dealt through email with Bill Oldani, who was even more compassionate, courteous and professional. Bill took the time to recommend a local priest for a grave-site service (it was four people total and we didn't want a traditional wake). He also made all necessary arrangements so I literally had to do nothing but give approvals and answer questions regarding preferences. For each step, Mr. Oldani advised me in advance of all costs. (Even down to flowers to be placed on the casket--I gave a range on what I wanted to spend, and he came in the middle, recommending not to spend more due to the brevity of the service.) He agreed to have all costs billed to my local CA funeral home so I could pay everything in advance at once for convenience, which removed a lot of stress and worry. Throughout the process, Bill made sure all my queries were answered satisfactorily and encouraged me to contact him with any others at any time. At the cemetery, I met with Bill's associate Kelly (apologies if I'm misremembering the name) who had my brother and I sign all needed paperwork and explained every part of the process and service. Though she was young enough to be my daughter, she was still courteous and professional, which was appreciated. (Only two minor downsides: 1) the priest sped through the scripture readings like the disclaimer of a car commercial, and 2) we were offered the chance to pay our last respects in private, neither the priest nor Kathy stepped away to give us any privacy so it was too awkward to do so. The first was not A.J. Desmond's fault and the second may have been due to the conditions or the cemetery's policy, so I am not deducting any stars.) What truly impressed me was that after my return trip home, I received a letter from Bill expressing his condolences, as well as information and brochures regarding death-related scams to avoid, and free-of-charge grievance counseling services. (The local CA funeral home did not provide either.) Very appreciated. Death is something no one wants to deal with but everyone will have to eventually, and A.J. Desmond & Sons, and especially Mr. Oldani, made the process seamless and stress-free. I give them my highest recommendation--and deepest thanks.

I was married to my man almost 41 years and it's true what the saying says, life has a way of coming around full circle. I was born and raised in Clawson and after our Mother and Father passed away we bought the house from the estate and my husband died in the family house after many years of sickness. Every funeral home is going to serve you what they learned in mortuary school, hopefully. But the funeral home will take on the personalities of the directors. Just as the quaint township we raised our children the logo was, Serving the community country style, here in Clawson it's logo is, The little city with a BIG heart and I am quite convinced that Paul Gramer fulfills his part in that logo.

I completed the funeral services for my mother-in-law at the Gramer Funeral Home in Clawson in July 2024. As part of our family's customs, I plan to carry her ashes overseas next year for the immersion ceremony (Asthi Visarjan). When I submitted the application to the Consulate in October 2025 for a no-objection certificate to transport the ashes, they requested a cremation certificate with some specific information. I contacted Gramer Funeral Home for assistance, and Megan and Paul were extremely helpful. They prepared the certificate the same day--within just a few hours--and provided the required letter without any hesitation, even though a year had passed since the cremation. Their support, promptness, and understanding during this additional step meant a great deal to me and my family. Thank you, Navin

She had thoughtfully paid for everything 32 years in advance, intending to spare us any burden. Unfortunately, after the original funeral home owner retired and transferred her contract to another funeral home, I encountered a very distressing situation with them that was dismissive, rude, and suddenly demanding additional money despite previously telling me everything was fully covered. I was shocked, overwhelmed, and honestly heartbroken all over again. That's when I found Mr. Patrick Lynch and Lynch & Sons Funeral Home--and everything changed. I called after hours on Friday and left a message, not expecting to hear back until Monday. To my surprise, Patrick Lynch called me back within 10 minutes. He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, patiently explaining everything, going over the other funeral home's statement line by line, and helping me understand what was actually going on. He was calm, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. More importantly, he genuinely cared. For the first time since my mom passed, I felt a sense of peace and relief. I immediately knew I wanted to move my mother into their care. The next morning at exactly 10 AM, just as promised, his son Paddy Lynch called me. From that point on, everything was seamless. Paddy was kind, attentive, and so easy to work with. He handled every detail with grace and professionalism, making a very difficult process feel manageable. They helped me create a funeral that was truly beautiful and elegant--far beyond anything I could have hoped for. Even though my mother was not embalmed and went directly to the church, everything was handled flawlessly. One of the most special touches was the Juilliard-trained violinist, Sonia they arranged, which made the service incredibly moving and unforgettable. The entire experience was handled with such sensitivity, dignity, and care. In a time of deep grief and despair, Patrick and Paddy Lynch were not just helpful-- they were a source of light, compassion, comfort, strength and steady support. They treated me like family, not just a client. My mother's funeral was absolutely perfect--graceful, meaningful, and filled with love. I will be forever grateful to them for guiding me through one of the hardest moments of my life. I cannot recommend Lynch & Sons Funeral Home highly enough. If you want compassionate, honest, and truly exceptional care for your loved one, this is the place to go.

We went up soon after to discuss services and pricing. The place itself is gorgeous; bright, welcoming. Not stuffy or sad. You can tell it's been recently updated. We were comfortable in the lobby and in the consultation room. We were offered complimentary bottled water, which is nice when you're bone dry from crying for hours straight. We made it clear from the beginning we didn't want a funeral or even viewing service. The salesperson was respectful of that and moved forward with going over cremation services. The cremation service itself is carried out by another company and was only like $600? But for some reason, the funeral home charges almost $3000 on top of that for their time and services. That seems wild to me for someone who didn't want viewing, mourning services, visitation, etc. It's expensive to live and it's expensive to die. The salesperson was friendly and mostly respectful, although we could hear the misogyny when he spoke to my husband directly, and not his sister, who was actually handling all the business. Don't like that. But he accommodated all of our simple requests without fuss. Besides the oldschool mentality of our salesperson, it was a fine place to spend a couple hours talking about a dead person.

I lost my mother March of 2021 and shopping for final arrangement's was emotionally difficult. When I went to Roseland Park and met with Wendy she could not have made me feel more at ease, I was reluctant due to the reviews but felt I needed visit for myself seeing the cemetery in my community for nearly my whole life and it always looked well maintained. I visited Roseland Park and two others and I definitely could tell the difference. The level of detail to my mothers final arrangement far exceeded my expectations. They were courteous and not rushed. The grounds are very well taken care of, I appreciated that the grounds are regularly cleared of dead floral arrangements. I also appreciate that they are sure to not try to cut the ground when they are over saturated with water, I would honestly prefer temporary tall grass over seeing tire tracks on my mothers grave plot. The after care meeting was another point of them going above and beyond they shared with me so many useful documents to close out my mother's affairs' that I never had considered. Then then we met again and I was presented with a beautiful memorial gift of my mother. I went to visit on Mother's day and they had staff outside giving away free flag for the grave sites and had a beverage truck on location giving away free drinks for everyone visiting their loved ones over the weekend. I would highly recommend Roseland Park to any family who truly cares about their family members final internment. Do go by the reviews go to the location and see for yourself, I am very glad I did!!

Oct 2016 we buried my father there and it wasn't until July 2016 they finally threw some grass seed down to cover the grave. It was nearly a year before his headstone was placed. Sept 3023 my mother passed, Wendy couldn't be bothered with us after we caught her in a lie within the first 5 minutes so she passed us along to someone else to finish up paperwork on a prepaid service. The day of the service, the workers were rude and rushed us along, talking loudly and being obnoxious the whole time. Then we were told they would have the headstone back in place, the brass death date added and grass fixed "soon". Well, it's been 8 months and nothing is fixed. I'm out there at least twice a month and it looks ridiculous.

I lost my 23‑year‑old daughter in a tragic accident abroad, which made our situation uniquely complex. It required coordination between two funeral homes, international flights, extensive documentation, and tight timelines. From start to finish, Jim was absolutely extraordinary. There was no time of day that Jim would not respond--by phone, text, or email. He stayed on top of every detail, immediately flagging concerns, adjusting plans when needed, and making sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Every step of the way, I knew I was in good hands--and more importantly, that my daughter was in good hands. Jim was incredibly patient and took the time to explain each step of the process. During a moment when a family is vulnerable and could easily feel taken advantage of, Jim did the opposite--he helped me clearly understand costs and provided thoughtful options to help contain them. His integrity never wavered. I had a special request to see my daughter before she was transported home, which became especially challenging due to an upcoming three‑day holiday weekend and limited time in country. Jim personally ensured this happened--coordinating across borders, researching local funeral homes to match the level of care Wm. Sullivan & Son is known for, and staying in constant communication so I always knew what was happening. Because of Jim and his staff, I was able to see my daughter. That meant everything to me. Once I returned home, Jim guided my family through funeral planning with the same compassion and professionalism. The atmosphere of the funeral home was peaceful, and the entire staff was welcoming and empathetic. We were never rushed or pressured. On the days of visitation and the funeral, everything was flawless--all we had to do was show up, and Jim and his team handled everything with quiet excellence. One moment that will always stay with me: even at the cemetery, during the final moments, Jim personally walked the perimeter as the vault was being sealed, ensuring everything was properly aligned and done with care. It was not his responsibility--but that's who Jim is. From start to finish, the same attention to detail, compassion, and dignity never faded. I almost never write reviews--not on Google, not on Amazon--but Jim and the entire Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home staff truly moved my heart. They made an unbearable experience feel supported, personal, and filled with compassion, and they cared for my daughter with the same love and respect I would have given her myself.
