Very disappointing experience. Damaged fence during install. Sloppy work. Poor communication and still hasn't made it completely right.

The fence looks good, seems sturdy. I have no complaints about the fence itself or its installation. As far as running a business though, it is very amateurish. The only communication I got from Clover Fence were vague and terse responses to my questions. I got home from work one day and surprise! the old fence is gone. I got home one day the week after and surprise! the new fence is installed. No "Are we good to install on the 14th?" or even "We will install on the 14th", not a peep. And then I waited for the final invoice, now that the job was done, and none came. Of all the things a business might be bad at, I really didn't think "getting paid" would be one of them. They should hire a business manager or something to take care of the customer-service side of things. read more

tl;dr I would highly recommend Clover Fence. Their product is of the best quality, and their commitment to that quality is impeccable. But... be prepared for a few breaks in communication. I had a fairly large fence job (cedar privacy fence in back with an arbor, and cedar picket in front, with three gates total), so I reached out to six area fence companies via email. Of the four companies that reached out to setup a meeting to go over the project and to create an estimate, Clover was the only company who sent someone skilled in both the product and in construction, rather than just a sales person. I'll admit, Clover was not the cheapest, but, their product was superior in thickness and construction. Three companies provided me an estimate. Clover dropped off the estimate the next day, while the other two were mailed. I decided to go with Clover, and sent them a signed contract. From here, there was a communication breakdown. A couple weeks passed between signed contract and install. I rarely received communication that was not a direct response to my call or email. During install, there was a rain storm, which delayed progress, and made a large mess of our yard from the posts being set. Overall, it took four days (not consecutive) to complete the fence. It was worth it dealing with the small hassle on communication, and the cleanup after. The product is beautiful, and I receive compliments all the time. Two months after install, our fence was vandalized. Multiple pickets were smashed and pried off. I reached out to Clover for an estimate on cost and timeframe. Clover immediately got back to me, and said they'd take care of it. The next day they had performed all the repairs. I was amazed. read more

Clover Fence installed a Vinyl fence for me 4 years ago, I had to have them out 1 year after the install due to the gate post moving up and down in winter, causing a large gap between the gate and the post with the latch, the concrete around the post turned into powder, I had him repair the post a second time for $250 when they installed another section of vinyl fence in my yard. The post moved again, I contacted Clover Fence and let him know what I thought the problem was, that the post was not deep enough, he got very defensive, and just probable thought I was exaggerating the situation, I called and texted him several times and because the gate would not stay closed due to the gap expanding to 2.5", he said that he "stopped by 2 weeks ago and everything looked good to him" Why would you just stop be when I was contacting him several times and not come to the door? as I am disabled and a veteran. So, I had another fence contractor over last week, and low and behold, the gate post was only 2 feet deep and not even set in concrete, which is why the post moves. Clover Fence treats its customers terrible, and terrible response if you have an issue. He is very thin skinned and does not take criticism for the poor workmanship, his crew is very inexperienced in fence construction. I would stay away from Clover Fence. read more

I would recommend Clover Fence in a heartbeat and already have... several times. We get compliments on our fence regularly from passers-by and neighbors. We chose Eric because of his price, and ability to complete the job quickly, not to mention he seems like a guy who can handle himself with someone (our neighbor) who may not fully appreciate the new fence. He met us at the home and garden show, saw us 4 days later for an on-site estimate which was delivered and signed during that very visit. He said they'd start the following week (7 business days later) they came a day early and set the posts. His workers dealt BEAUTIFULLY with my unruly neighbor charging at them and swearing (more than once). They remained calm and strong and professional. I was told that it'd be about another week before they could comeback to finish the install, but to my surprise I woke to banging (thought it was my neighbor causing damage) the guys came back immediately to get the job done. The crew was aware and sensitive to my family's needs of immediacy. The job from first hello to "thank God we have this beautiful fence" was under TWO weeks. I had contacted several (7-10) fence and landscaping companies Eric was one of 3 who came to give a quote (let alone return a message or answer the phone). He was the only one to give the quote on the spot and give a timeframe for a start date. One of the other two emailed me weeks after the job was done and the last mailed it a few days later. I was pretty specific on my needs and the guys put up with my "medaling" and specific requests. They were pleasant to deal with and I couldn't have asked for a better crew, especially dealing with the sucky reason for the fence. These guys helped my family regain a feeling of home and we shared a good laugh with a few other neighbors who actually cheered for our new fence! In the end we were expecting a written invoice or bill since I had made a minor change following the quote, but through a few texts got the final count and was able to make the payment. That is pretty much my only "gripe." You want someone who can get down to business and make it happen... go with Clover Fence. read more

After alot of research and quotes, Clover fence was by far the most reasonably priced company in the Milwaukee area. They were easy to work with an fit us in even earlier than originally quoted. Our chain link fence was installed in one day and it looks great! We couldn't be happier. read more

Back in March my dad had approximately 88 feet of dog eared fence damaged by a wind storm. After contacting the insurance company and getting approval for repairs to begin, we contacted Clover Fence for a written estimate. They were out within a day of that call to complete a written estimate. The estimate was for a Western Red Cedar dog eared privacy fence. The estimate was for approximately $1000 less than other estimates received. The day following Clover receiving a signed written proposal, they were out to remove the old fence and set new fence posts. Approximately 6 days later they came to complete the fence. The fence was completed with 4x4 Western Red Cedar posts, 2x4 red cedar stringers, and dog ear planks. We were also thankful that Clover was willing to complete the work and wait for payment until insurance check was received. We will definitely recommend Clover to anyone we know that has fencing needs. We did post photos to Yelp to show the great work Clover did on this job. read more

Horrible customer service and late! We had to baby sit the workers too. They didn't know their heads from their asses. Took over 3 weeks to get a job done that takes under two. Watch out if sign a contract! Make sure they write down a time frame and stick to it! read more

Good luck getting them to return your call or give you a quote. Finally got a hold of someone and they were supposed to look at my fence the Friday before thanksgiving to give me a quote to repair the gate that blew off due to high winds. I have yet to see a quote and have no idea if they ever even looked at the fence. Take your business elsewhere! read more

Didn't have a great experience in the end with Clover. Things started off well but finishing the job turned out to be a challenge. Side yard fence is beautiful, but when it came to my driveway there was an issue. The plot survey wasn't read correctly so the fence was placed on my neighbor's property. Had to be removed and replaced, cutting into my driveway. Eric took care of it, but it would have been great had the plot survey been read correctly from the start. One board on the gate was split so I asked for it to replaced. While it was eventually replaced it was a bit too short and the finish on the top was really rough. Note - when a contractor has the customer get the building permit that means that any errors in the construction fall to the customer. Clover requires the customer to get the permit - important to know. Also, if there is any question about the plot line might be best to get a second opinion. read more
