So here's my honest advice: Book one night in the big suite, don't interact with management or the events team, eat somewhere else, and leave. You'll actually enjoy yourself. Here's the reality: It's gorgeous on the outside. But in my experience, there's no soul or integrity behind the facade. The service culture feels stuck in a bygone era - and not in a charming way. The locker rooms are cramped, poorly maintained, and frankly, they smell. The food is forgettable. The spa feels pretentious and operates on what I can only describe as a 1987 business model. I was told I'd need to order a nail job just to access the steam room. Make it make sense. The concierge was genuinely lovely - but it felt like her hands were tied by management's outdated approach. She seemed to want to help more than the system would allow. The events department was, in my experience, a major disappointment. Communication felt disorganized and unresponsive. When I asked for a simple proposal, I was told they "couldn't possibly do that for every inquiry" - in 2025, when AI tools can generate a polished, customized proposal in minutes. I tested it myself using Canva and Claude with their own metrics. Took me four minutes. The resistance to modernizing felt deliberate. Outside of the top-tier suites - which are reasonably priced by Colorado standards ---this felt like a mediocre hotel calling itself a resort. It is not The Broadmoor. It is not a Four Seasons. Those places deliver hospitality with humanity. This felt more like a zombie party with a great view. My honest opinion? It feels like ownership is either disengaged, burnt out, or simply no longer pursuing excellence. That said - if you're a Colorado local, the 10% room discount is a nice touch. Choose your room wisely, skip on-site dining, and check out 503W nearby for great prices and actual atmosphere. For corporate events? I'd look elsewhere.

After 4 nights at the Broadmoor resort (also amazing) we took the 2pm shuttle up a rocky mountain road to the Ranch. We were greeted by Aaron, a fellow Northwestern alum (go Wildcats) and his incredible staff. There were 38 people total our first night there, which the told us was a record for the Ranch. It didn't feel very crowded though (especially after the craziness of the resort) and most of the people had kids the same age as ours which was a lot of fun. They showed us to our cabin, Hills Cabin, which I realized was the "presidential cabin." It was a huge 2 bedroom cabin that had enough room for 6 kids up in loft up top and a beautiful master suite. + 3 bathrooms and a ginormous kitchen/dining room that we didn't really put to use. It also have a big TV with Netflix and a lovely fireplace. There's a 3rd bedroom that's attached to it, although the 2nd night we were there it was rented by another couple with a separate entrance. There's plenty of fun to be had at the ranch: horseback riding, paddleboats/kayaks, archery, fishing, hiking etc. And if you get a rainy afternoon there are plenty of board games to play both in the lodge and in the cabin. We spent 2 nights here, although with the rain wish we had an extra night to enjoy some of the activities we didn't have a chance to squeeze in. The food was absolutely amazing. My picky children were even in heaven and my little guy has been asking for lobster ever since trying it as their Wed night cookout. Dinners besides the twice a week cookout involves ordering off a menu with plenty of choices for all. I do wish they did a better job with labeling the buffet with food allergies. My son has a serious nut allergy and almost ate a brownie with walnuts because it wasn't labeled and I had to constantly ask if things had nuts and/or gluten in them. They asked for our dietary restrictions ahead of time so assumed they'd be better about this. This really was a very special experience that I think our kids will remember for a long time. I heard this coming week a big family is renting out the entire ranch and I'd love to do the same with family and/or friends at some point, although it was fun getting to know some lovely people from around the country as well.

We also had trouble with our balcony door staying closed and getting it to lock. Rooms were clean though. I liked the little features like the soap being in the shape of a paw print. The waterpark was awesome to have access to while we were there. Especially during the winter months. They got water attractions for all ages. The resort overall is nice. The lobby is huge and gives that cozy, lodge feel. They have plenty of dining options inside of the hotel. There is plenty to do besides the waterpark. Look into their bundles if you are interested in doing the other activities besides the waterpark. Will definitely be back! Tips: Download their app so you know what time the activities are going on in the resort or to order food ahead. By check in they pass out complimentary wolf ears.

During conversations with staff/supervisors (the middle aged blonde woman at the front in particular), we were verbally assured multiple times that we would receive a full refund if we chose to cancel and leave. She was very rude during the entire interaction however. We relied on those statements, left the property, never used the room overnight, and then later were told no refund had ever been promised. The conflicting information and handling of the situation was incredibly frustrating, especially for a family with children. After trying to resolve it directly, I was forced to open a dispute through my bank. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.

A top notch hotel when planning a stay in downtown Colorado Springs…read more The MX completed its redecoration in 2024, and still has that well-burnished look. The corner-windows lobby is huge, lined with wood and glass, filled with clusters of chairs and couches of various styles that should clash but instead create an upscale but cozy whole. That large space also provides seating for the BLK MGK coffee shop and the Golden Hour bar, and is the locale for weekly jazz concerts. Our room was on the second floor, near the entrance awning facing east. Despite being on Nevada, we have very few problems with traffic noise; the bigger challenge was the bright light from the building lighting and the dawn; it was tough to get the floor-to-ceiling blackout drapes well-closed. The HVAC worked well, but was quite loud when it would roar into life in during the night. The room (Silver level, King-sized bed) was high-ceilinged and open. The tile floor, rug, wallpaper, were all a variety of prints that, again, should have clashed, but instead were charming. The bed was comfortable. The chair and chase-longue, and even the desk chair were comfortable. Power outlets were plentiful and at a high enough level to be usable. The room came with complementary water bottles each day. No coffee machine (but a nice shop in the lobby). The sink and shower were open to the main sleeping area -- it looked like there may have been a sliding partition that covered that and the closet, but that was missing. Didn't bother my wife and me, and it did add to the feeling of size and openness, but be aware. (The WC was in its own closable niche.) The shower was huge, and the there were enough towel hooks and racks, in the proper places. The bathroom itself was missing any kind of mirror, though the floor length mirror in the hall served to a degree. Matching contemporary trend, there was only one waste can in the entire room (back in the WC), which is annoying. We peeked into the conference / ball room on our floor, just down the hall, and it looked very nice for a private function. The hallways were nicely appointed, with modernistic carpet that, yet again, should have clashed but gave a spirit of eclectic design. An old safe/vault door (!) in the hall let to a store room. All the people we interacted with, from the front desk to valet to housekeeping, as well as at the bar and coffee bar, were friendly and helpful. The biggest complaint you'll see is about parking. Being downtown COS, the options are plentiful but pricey. Valet parking is available, but expensive. There is plenty of metered parking you can make use of in the area. There is also a large parking garage (including charging stations) a block south on Nevada which charged $23 overnight, which seemed a pretty good deal. Depending on what you are doing, there is a lot within walking distance of the MX. The hotel has a spa and gym, though we did not make use of them. Net-net, the MX experience is expensive, but you get high quality and comfortable accommodations for the price. It served as a nice getaway for us for three nights during the week, and if we stay in downtown COS again, it will probably be there.

The elevator is centered in the middle of the property so it was never an issue for us. Our Room 523 had a King Bed and all the usual amenities...desk, tv, mini fridge, blow dryer. It was spacious and clean, especially the bathroom. The Pharmacopia brand products smelled so good! Mattress and linens were firm and fluffy! There is a rooftop restaurant and bar, Lume8, that was recommended to us by our friend and the front desk. But, we just wanted something quick and simple, which didn't require us to dress up lol. So, we opted for a couple of slices of pizza from Fat Sully's Pizza located one block over.

That's how the bed was in our room only its on a platform about a foot and a half off the floor. The person on the side of the ledge can at least sit down and swing themselves into bed. The other has to step up on to the platform, walk around the platform and then try to get down on to the mattress. Not easy and again now try to get out - especially when it's dark. Not very convenient. The bathroom looks great too but unless you are using the hotel supplied shampoo/conditioner that is bolted to the shower wall, there is nowhere to put those you brought with you unless you put them on the floor. Convenient- not really. And don't get me started on the mini fridge on the floor I'd continue but I have to chase some kids off my lawn.......

The ironing board came undone, couldn't fold it back. Twice we left it out for the maid to put away. There was no padding, just the cover and the board. (?) Positives: 1. Shower was great! There were handle bars on the sliding doors. 2. The water was soft. I didn't need to use conditioner on my long hair. 3. The coffee were available early in the lobby area. 4. Breakfast was pretty good, as expected. I have to ask for ice cube twice (2 days we were there) to put in my Hydrapeak. 5. Security was very good. You can't enter the elevator without the room key. 6. We like the view in our room, we picnic there two nights, with foods outside take-out food, or food from downstairs bar. 7. Lots of restaurants nearby. 8. We like the portable little desk, we used that for our picnic by the window. 9. I realized I stepped on some blueberries (or something), and I used a make-up remover. It worked! I asked the front desk, if they have more. Yes. I went downstairs to pick them up. People were checking out, and yes, they are busy, and only one at the front desk, until another showed up to help me.

The basic options like eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, milks (non-dairy options), coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, and oatmeal. All you can eat and they rotate the bacon and carb everyday. The staff is very attentive and friendly in the receptionist. We stayed for about 6 nights and the rooms did not have any issues. They have a mini fridge for you to put drinks in. There is also a small coffee machine. The views were very pretty from our room, we were on the highway side but the sound of cars do not bother us, but if that does it would be best to get a room in the other side of the hotel. Plenty of hot water and overall the room is quite spacious. Highly recommend this Hyatt Hotel!
