I'm a huge fan of this store! Caroline was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be shopping here again

What a gold mine for shopping!! A very nicely organized and clean shop with good prices on designer clothes and accessories !! . The staff is very friendly and helpful!! They have a large shoe and purse collection. I can always find great items here!!! It's now become one of my regular stops!! read more

It's so hit or miss here and at platos depending on who is working. I had bags of stuff to sell as I'm moving and they took 4 items total and for $18. It's really worth it to sell your own things and watch for sales here, they did have some cute things I found while walking around waiting for them to go through my items I brought in. read more

Items they have for sale are very nice and they have some high quality name brand purses and accessories but no one in there is friendly or says hi when you walk in. read more

Would give ZERO stars! Brought in very nice White House Black Market, Ann Taylor, etc. items the manager reviewed everything and selected no items for purchase. Keep in mind the items they have for sell are out of date pillage all over and look like they just rode past Goodwills and picked up bags. Waste of time!!! Sold nothing! Bought nothing! read more

First of all I'm annoyed by the fact that I bring in loads of clothing- many name brand- and they NEVER accept anything because "it's not the latest style or has some wear." I literally brought in a dress I purchased from them 4 months prior, never wore it, and they didn't accept it. It must have gone out of style after 4 months Some of my designer dresses look brand new and they didn't take them! Secondly, take a look at what's on the rack. Sweaters that are pilled, dresses and accessories with stains on them. All marked up $20-$30 when you can easily find them at the original store on sale for those prices. Give me a break! I will not come back. read more

Great quality and very organized. My favorite consignment store! I've gotten coats purses wallets jewelry and so many clothes from here, all of which have stood the test of time. read more

Wow! Why haven't I explored this store before? It's absolutely amazing with their selection of gently used to new with tag items and best of all, for about 75% off of your department store prices! I generally am not a fan of pre-loved items and certain still not when it comes to certain clothing article but if you're looking for a cute el-cheapo spring dress, this might be the place. Their items are clean, they have dressing rooms, helpful staff, a rewards card/system for shopping at their stores, and they have all sorts of random clothing items you'll find in one visit at one place rather than at several. It's quite convenient! Some items I feel are a bit overpriced but they carry a good selection of premium brand items. And best of all, they don't look like they just came out of a closet that hasn't been touched since the 70s or 80s and only uncovered recently during an estate sale attempt. I've been here multiple times and have gotten nothing but nice treatment from the staff. I usually come in not looking for anything in particular but somehow, I always end up with a dress or 2. Fantastic way to freshen up the wardrobe without making a dint in the good old bank account! Who wouldn't want to shop here?! read more

Designer hand bags, designer shoes and higher end clothing!! I walked in because I had time to wait for a friend for lunch. I'm glad I walked it because this is now my fave store. I really don't like clothes shopping because their are too many selections but because I found most of the dresses priced under $20 Organization The clothes are organized by color and size!! Perfect Shoes: I saw a cute pair of flats Karl Lagerfeld (mules) for $29.95!! read more

I love Clothes Mentor. I feel like a little kid at Christmas. I never know what I am going to get. The one thing I know is , I really enjoy the staff. I could spend 1/2 a day looking and could never see all that the store had to offer. I love a good bargain and quality, I can definitely find it at Clothes Mentor. Thank you for all the hard work you all put into the store, this makes the whole shopping experience worth so much more than pennies. read more

I had a good experience selling my clothes at Clothes Mentor and will be back again!

Tried to sell name brand items and was told not what they are looking for. Really? Waste of my time since I live quite a ways. Review shows they accept a wider range of brands, WRONG! These folks are much more pickier than their competitor Plato's Closet. Gather they were having a sale, it was not worth my time to shop after receiving my items back from them. That's twice I wasted my time driving up to this establishment. Had better luck at Plato's Closet in selling a few items and finding items I liked. read more

I am shocked to see so many negative reviews of this store. I went in to sell some items and I had an excellent experience. At first I was a little bit upset because they rejected some really nice namebrand items in excellent condition. When I asked one of the workers, Hannah, who was the manager, she explained to me that they don't take a lot of brands like Abercrombie, Aeropostale and Hollister because they are generally catered to a younger audience and their store is more for women in their mid to late 20s. Hannah, was so kind, knowledgeable, and understanding and made me feel a lot better. She explained items that would be better to take and now I know moving forward. Overall an excellent experience here. read more

Amazing clothing for less than half of what it's worth! I bought a dress new with tags from Tommy Hilfiger for 16 dollars it was originally 189$! read more

Found this gem next to platos closet. Beautiful name brand clothing. Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, BEBE, Black&White..... honestly with the prices and the brands going to Macy's or Marshalls seems crazy. The staff was extremely kind also. Oh and the store was very clean and didn't have that dirty clothes smell. They also carry purses and shoes. They do have a bathroom and chairs to sit and wait in. You can also bring your clothes in to sell. read more

I have shopped at the Ronnies Plaza location about five times. I will not go back the sales staff are extremely arrogant. The clothes have considerable wear on them and are not current fashions. I have bought some work out shirts that were ok. I did buy a couple of cute designer purses. There are much better resale shops in town with much friendlier staff. read more

I had three very large containers of clothes. A lot brand new, with tags still attached purchased from women's departments. A lot more are brand new work clothes that I purchased however no longer need as I work from home. Out of all three large containers they didn't like one single piece and her reasoning was it was not name brand and was junior clothing not women's which is untrue. I didn't expect any less, however it is extremely frustrating to have brand new good women's clothing and be told it's not good enough. Especially when I walk through and see Walmart brand items for sale. I think it's time to rethink your quality control process or employees... read more

I brought in clothes that had never been worn and were stylish, recent purchases from Chicos, Ann Taylor and some boutiques. They said they had some wear on them and were not recent styles???? They were never worn and recently purchased. I was confused as quite a bit of clothes for sell in the shop clearly had obvious wear on them and were from much cheaper brands and what I considered out of date styles! I think they really don't understand quality or style. I took my clothes to another upscale resale that paid well and said they were so happy that I brought my clothes in. Perhaps the location, the store I eventually sold to was in a more affluent area! read more

Love this store they have great prices and selection and Tammie (personal Shopper) is a delight to work with, I was anxious to have this experience and I was not disappointed, she was so patient in gathering items for me to try and she encouraged me to try styles I would have never thought to try. I needed a mental health day and going to this store was wonderful, i left all the chaos outside and enjoyed the quiet calm atmosphere inside and the time dedicated to just me. Loved it and will return soon I encourage everyone to give it a try ,Tammie is your PS gal ! read more

If you have anything worth money that you want to sell, do NOT bring it here! Not only did they carelessly throw the clothes they didn't buy back in the container, I also got a dress back that isn't mine. Seller beware! read more

I took a whole basket of brand new clothes that didn't have designer labels. Beautiful summer dresses all size 22, did they ask? No just rejected. I saw literal Goodwill rejects hanging there (way overpriced) but they had a label. Incredibly low standards. Save your money and go to Savers for an honest discount on your next purchase. read more

This is the best place to go for inexpensive designer clothing and accessories. I've been here multiple times and the employees are nice and courteous. Yesterday I went in and they told me of their 20% off sale for President Day weekend, so of course I had to buy, buy, buy. Their items are gently used and usually worth the price tag. Tip: Sign up for their rewards program for a even bigger savings! read more

Had awesome experience ! Took some items in and was greeted and asked to sanitize that was great. The store smelled amazing and the buyer was fast and super sweet. Of course I was able to look around they have some really great prices and great selection. read more

A seasoned shopper at Clothes Mentor. First time at this location but very comparable to others. The clothing racks were nearly arranged. Since it was a Monday night and nit surprised how cleaned it was. Not sure what it would look like on a Saturday. The only issue I had was there was no designate petite's sections for both tops and bottoms. I have been to four other Clothes Mentor and they all had a petite's rack. read more

My first time here. I found them from Fox 2 in morning and I have been looking for pieces to go back to work for so I tried them out. The store is very clean and very organized. They have clothing by sizes as well as colors (which is awesome). There prices are ok and fair. A little higher than I would pay for most used items, but they looked like they were in good condition and some items had tags still on. They also have a lot of name brands like purses, shoes, accessories. So that was nice. I don't really care if someone comes and greets me or not. I mean sometimes it is awkward when they keep bugging at some boutiques. My only problem was that I was carrying my coat and at least 6 or 7 pieces of clothing (4 which were blazer tops) and I was very obviously struggling. I saw two employees look at me and no one offered to help. No biggie...I could have easily asked them to hold them or get a room ready for me...But it is an added touch of Customer service when someone at a store approaches you and gives you a little added attention (I asked an associate at JC Penny's for a puffer vest and she walked me to three different departments till I found one--now that is customer service). All in all it is a little hidden gem that I will go back to find more goodies. read more

I pretty much shop exclusively at thrift stores now. I can't even imagine paying more than $6 for a shirt or $12 for jeans! In the past, I was actually a big fan of Plato's Closet and ended up visiting a Clothes Mentor in Springfield, MO. It was clearly geared towards women of my fiscal mentality (see also: cheap) but didn't feel like I was in the junior section of Macy's. Don't get me wrong, I still shop there, too, but now that Clothes Mentor opened up in St. Louis, it's my go-to! Be prepared to sift through A LOT of junk, though. They're all great clothes, but not always your own style. Make sure you set aside some time. The guidelines for selling clothes is pretty rigid, so you know you're getting the latest styles and good quality merchandise. I've got a ton of Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Limited, Express, and J Crew clothing that I never would've purchased at full price. They even have a maternity section! This is definitely my favorite stop when I'm shopping for new (to me) clothing. read more

While the people are friend the policies are impossible I have a rewards account and I brought the card I used but they were unable to process a return or even look up my card even tho they have a rewards system which means they have the ability to see what I paid. A quick size mistake just cost me $25 read more

Sales clerks are so busy shopping for themselves then helping customers. Sales clerks are rude especially the German lady, she will take clothes right out of your hands and tell you they were hers on hold. This place has went downhill fast ! read more

Clothes Mentor has become my go-to store if I'm not looking looking for something specific. I've been to the one in Ellisville and South County. The staff at both have been very helpful and each time the store is extremely clean and organized. I've gotten high end clothes, sunglasses and a purse and couldn't be happier with my purchases. Everything is in mint condition and many of the items that I have purchased still have the original tags on them and were priced at a fraction of the original price. I even have my 14 year old daughter excited about shopping there! read more

There is not a rating low enough for this establishment. Let me tell you my story. I am a clothes horse, and have recently lost a lot of weight. many of my clothes didn't fit any more, so I sorted through my closet looking for the very best of everything I had to consign. I brought in 3 huge boxes of clothes that I had for work, and cocktail events. All either brand new, or only slightly worn. Some of the items had their tags still on them. Since I dropped many sizes, I bought a whole new wardrobe for every size I went through, so all of these items were bought within the last 2 years. Not only that but they were recognizable, respected designers. I had Ellen Tracy, Calvin Klein, Enzo, Ralph Loren, Liz Claiborne, Ann Taylor.. Coach, Guess, Ann Taylor Loft, etc.. etc... etc. BEAUTIFUL clothes. Out of the three HUGE boxes stuffed with clothes, They bought 12 items. So, I took hundreds of items home with me. I got $47.00 for the 12 items they kept. In the mean time while I was waiting.. I shopped. About 10% of the items were recognizable name brands, in decent, but not great shape. They were OK, and if they were my style and size, I could have worn them. But I would say about 80-90% of the items in the store were obviously old.. worn.. out of date. The most ridiculous thing I saw in the store was a whole wall filled with quilted fabric purses that looked like something a grandma would make and use. So, in conclusion, if you have nice.. current, name brand designers in beautiful shape.. don't take them to this store.. they won't take them. Instead, look for the items you would donate to St. Vincent DePaul, and take those instead. AND if you are shopping for nice second hand clothes, Goodwill would be a step up from this place. read more

Ahhh LOVE this place! Great brands and great quality for being pre-owned. Last time I was there I purchased North-face pants and a Nike T-shirt. Still my fave casual outfit to wear out. Affordable too! read more

I loved this place when they first opened, now not so much. I went in and got the feeling that they just have way too much stuff. Tried checking out their dress pants and they were jammed in so tight I gave up. The one pair I managed to check out, were way too high for a resale shop. I'm not into name brands so could have cared less what label they had on them. Like a lot of other places, after awhile they went downhill. read more

Don't waste your time here. Especially selling items, they want your stuff for free. Most of the items I saw there were worn and in need of cleaning. They wanted to give me 3$ for a brand new with tags Maxie dress from Stitch Fix which cost me 70$. I said "nope". I won't be going there again to buy or sell. read more

Great place to shop and buy at reasonable prices. I bought 2 name brand dresses with new tags still on - orig $100+ retail for $15 each. Huge selection, can take a while to pick through it all. Not sure how they rate if you are a seller. read more

I have been meaning to try this place as they advertise buying and selling plus size items. I took some items in to sell and it was a wait which was fine. I looked through the store and the plus size selection was blah. I left to do some other things and returned for my items. They offered to purchase 3 items for $8.00 two of which were dresses with tags on them with a retail value of at least $100 (I had intentions to return and never did). While I know I won't get retail I would expect more than what I would guess is 10% of what they will sell it for. I declined the offer. I would honestly rather give my items away for free or sell on FB for 5 to 10 bucks than let them offer such low value. Can't say I will return. I'll just stick to GW and Savers. read more

Today was my third visit to this store. I love the selection. It's neat and clean. But I'm not going back because for the THIRD TIME...these women are not friendly, don't acknowledge your presence, and actually made me right down uncomfortable. Idk why the same females are still there, because frankly it's because of them I won't be returning. Poor customer service. Thank you. read more

Rating update: I decided to give it yet another try. Really happy I did. I have wanted to make this place my one stop shop since I learned about it, finally after several bad experiences I think Im in love! I HAVE BEEN 2 TIMES IN ONE WEEK! first time back I bought 6 quality dresses, and second time a top, pants and shoes. I have only come across a couple of pieces of unworthy items, everything is clean....fitting rooms, fixtures, the store is sized and the employees have been worlds better than before. My one complaint...I was paying cash, and the associate had to call a manager over to watch her count back change. LOL seriously? As if that is not tacky enough...the woman (manager) said not ONE word to me. . Not hello, or a smile...ps this os thw same woman that I complained about in a past rant. Other than her odd attitude, I loved it. Will be back...probably next week...twice! read more

Good clearance section. one of the girls who worked there named Tiera (might be spelling it wrong) checked us out... She wasn't nice at all. She told us the total was 14.40$ then my mom said "so how much clearance was taken off each of the the 3 items" (cuz they were all 70% off) and Tiera said "14.40$...that's what I just told you" and she must have been confused because my mom ask how much was taken off each separate item... Not to repeat the total of our purchase. She didn't act happy to be there and was a bad representation of this company. Il avoid her next time I'm in there. read more

I stopped by Clothes Mentor because a good friend told me they had nice name brand items. She was correct. However, my presence was not acknowledged while I was there. A sales clerk walked past me 3 times, glaring at me and never asked if I needed help. I saw several items that I would have purchased but decided I would spend my money elsewhere. read more

I have gone to clothes Mentors several times and have brought my very nice designer clothes there and in very good condition and they refused them saying that it is not what they are good enough. The clothes that they have in there are like junk and in very poor condition that you would find in goodwill. I can not believe it. They do not know good clothes when they see them. They only know hippie junkie clothes. read more
