The closet designer was great at helping us decide what would be best for our closet. The installer Aiden was great! He called before he arrived, he was professional and was even kind to our pets. The closet now looks 100% better! read more

James and Adrien did a superb job installing our new design for a walk-in closet when we recently remodeled our basement. They turned an awkward space under the stairs and attached space into a very functional closet and storage area. They also installed a surround cabinet and wall unit around the king size bed with perfection. Both of them were very professional, courteous and respective of our new surroundings. We would certainly hire them for any future projects we may have. read more

I was thrilled with this company! I had such a pleasant experience with the designer, Jane (who measured perfectly) to Robert and Jacob who installed all of this on one day! Super professional! We worked with Cara on design and then had Justin and Glen for install. The whole process was great and we never felt pressure to buy which was appreciated too. Absolutely loved getting to have a custom design and Cara very clearly knew what she was doing. Loved her ideas and recommendations! Justin and Glen were fantastic on the install. I swear those guys never took a break. I don't know if we lucked out and got their absolute best install team, but we were super happy. Those two were super personable and polite. They worked hard and kept my house tidy as they did the work. LOVE how the closet turned out and would highly recommend! read more

I had a storage dilemma in my condominium. I needed more space and identified an entryway closet to serve as a pantry/coat closet. Shon came up with a great design that worked for me and a price I could afford. The installers, James and Jon were great-on time, friendly, competent and did a great job !! Thanks to your team!! While my master walk in closet was functional, I was hoping to better utilize my space. I called closet by design as I saw all the great reviews and a few days later a salesperson named Jen came over. She measured everything and then spent a couple hours in my closet. With my budget in mind she designed a walk in closet that met my needs. I wasn't sure if I wanted the basic white which is tier 1, the lowest priced material. We then talked about tier 2 and tier 3 and I ended up selecting the third tier as I wanted grey with a wood grain look. Actually, I thought I wanted the cream wood grain and Jen suggested that I head to the showroom in Mequon which I'm so glad I did! It turned out I didn't care for the cream much as the sample is just too small to determine color/design. I was greeted by a nice woman named Cindy who is one of the owners. She talked me through the hardware choices for my drawers and allowed me to switch out for brass instead of silver. Then, the other owner Doug came out. Talk about friendly and passionate about his business! Cindy and and Doug are a married couple who have owned and operated CBD for a few years. Doug offered to take us on a tour of his facility which I greatly appreciated. Doug explained that they have owned CBD for the past few years and purchase the wood locally in Chicago. They have top notch CNC machinery that enables them to do triple the number of jobs they previously could do. He pointed out they hire their own guys and have their own trucks. Everything looked like it was well run as it was very clean & organized! After the tour, they looked at our closet plans and suggested we replace drawers with a hamper unit after talking through the design. They were adamant that we love our closet and allowed us to make changes like the different hardware for drawers and more. Now for more details about my experience: Scheduling....they went above and beyond to bump up our install date from early April to mid-March. This was greatly appreciated as we wanted to get the closet installed prior to our spring break. Install - 2 employees called the morning of to let me know they would arrive around 11 am. 2 young men arrived with everything in hand to do the install and they worked together for 2 hours straight to get the master walk in closet done. When the project was completed they had me walk through to ensure I was satisfied. It looked beautiful and I love the wood grain grey! I asked them about working for CBD and they raved about how great of a company it is to work for, commenting on what a great guy Doug is. This goes a long way with me as I really like supporting local, small businesses, especially ones that are well run by good people. I would recommend them 100 times over and I strongly suggest you contact CBD for any closet, garage, kitchen or organizational needs. They also have a referral program which is nice as well as they stand behind a 7 year warranty! read more

There guys are superstars. Our designer, Laura, was so professional and meticulous and Jake, our installer was quick and brilliant. The 10x12 closet was installed in one day with drawers, cabinets, shelving and hang bars. We would definitely use them again! read more

Truly a full-service company - we just had our 6th project completed by Closets by Design last week. Our installer, Jake, did a fantastic job, taking his time to make cut outs for the outlets. When the project was completed, he made a recommendation that we have a trim piece along the desk. Our house is over 100 years old and the floors and walls are uneven (especially in the corner where we had this desk placed). He discussed options, placed the order, and had another tech come out today (the next business day) to install the trim piece. It was the perfect finishing touch and we could not be happier with how this project turned out. We had intiially ordered a desk from a furniture company, but the shelf and drawer sizes were all wrong and some of the drawers didn't open all the way. Closets by Design gave us the option to purchase a truly custom desk. read more

I was very happy with the service all the way down from the designer and install team. Very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely use them again for my next job and recommend to others. Ashley, Justin, and James did a great job! read more

Love the quality of our cabinets and all the people we worked with. Caitlin did our design work and was a true professional and paid very close attention to detail. Our installers, Jake and Dani, were amazing as well. They made sure we were happy with everything and asked questions throughout the process to make sure we were getting what we wanted. What an amazing team! read more

Closets by Design - Milwaukee - Starting to put stuff up on the shelving, but the room already feels so much bigger. - Flooring Near Me - Mequon, Wisconsin

Stay away- this company is awful. I've tried for months to get the closet they installed fixed without success. They have no-showed appointment times leaving me waiting hours for nothing. They showed up the next time without the proper equipment to fix it. Then they 'misfiled' paperwork causing a month delay in getting board recut. Finally they did a reinstall and it turned out worse than the first. Broken board patched with putty & drawers that done function. It's been a total of 4 installs that haven't fixed the problem. I have had to clear and put back clothes 4 times now for all these appointments. It's been days out of my life wasted. Dave the installation manager & Doug the owner keep making promises to call me to fix this and never call back. The product is poor quality - lots of chips, dents and scratches. The installers are not well trained to complete their work in a professional manner. It's been a complete nightmare. I'm left with a horrible looking and non-functioning product after paying thousands of dollars. Save yourself money & headaches and go with a different company. read more

Just had my 'cloffice' (closet/office) installed by Chris and James. They did a great job and asked for my input on things before just doing it. Looks great and will be very effective and efficient for me. Thanks for the great job! read more

I was very pleased with Closet By Design's service and product. I wanted to surprise my wife with the gift of a new closet. I met with Carrie, the designer, and she was very professional. What impressed me was that she wasn't trying to upsell me. Almost the opposite, she sensed I was trying to keep the price down, and she made smart recommendations about what I might consider and what I should not. On the day of installation, the installer arrived right on time. He got the job done, including pulling out the old closet hardware, in a bit over five hours. I was pleased with how he cleaned up the space when complete. When he was done, the closet looked great and our apartment was left in great shape. My wife was surprised and loved all the additional storage capacity. We replaced a single rod and shelf with three closet portions--one tall rod, one double rod, and a stack of shelves for shoes, toiletries, and other items. I had no idea how much more efficiently we could use the space--even though the size of the closet didn't change, we can fit much more into it without it feeling crowded. I'd use Closet by Design again if we ever decide to improve another closet in our home. read more

I am a homebuilder in Lake Geneva WI who was looking for a customized closet for a custom homebuyer recently. I worked with Jon, a designer out of the North Chicago office, who was able to meet me on-site and work out all of the details of three separate closet spaces including a beautiful linen cabinet piece for the master bathroom. Jon put a lot of forethought into the design and considered minuscule details such as adding an extra inch of height for long hanging dresses and does the homebuyer hang his pants folded or lengthwise. This attention to detail demonstrates both care and a vast display of experience in the industry. Overall, Jon's expertise paired with attentive communication for scheduling made the overall home building process a lot easier and ensured a satisfied homebuyer for my company. read more

My new closet organization system is great. David and Tyrek (sp?) were great to work with. Kept me apprised of what they were doing, had me check progress and were very personable. Jane did a great job creating the design and was very easy to work with and helped me decide on my options. read more

I loved working with Closets by Design. I wish there was a 10-star option. They managed to meet my dream closets and my budget! They went above and beyond and did even more than expected. Way, way, way better product and price than the one recommended by our architect and builder. I could not be more pleased. They built our master closet and mudroom/pantry and their design was so functional and well laid out. As a side note, I'm a volunteer for Make-A-Wish and I found this company because they donated a bedroom makeover for a child's wish in Milwaukee. I bring this up because not only is their product and service exceptional - they are just really good people too! read more

Our experience with Closets by Design was excellent! Our designer, Carrie took a lot of time getting to know what type of organization we were looking for in our closets; measuring boot height, checking what type of hanging/cubby space we needed and she had it sketched out right while we were planning. That was perfect because I got to see and tweak everything before it went to the carpenters for prepping. Carrie was so much fun to work with and very knowledgeable about their product...she made the planning a fun experience! Our installers; Chris, Max and Tom were TOP NOTCH! They were right on time, exactly what my reminder call stated. The three of them worked so hard, making sure everything was perfect. They cleaned all the installed surfaces and left nothing behind except a very happy customer. They were a pleasure to have in my house! I love my new closets and I would stand behind Closets by Design for any organizing you may need!! They even have great coupons and free installation, can't beat that!! read more

From the first call to inquire about their cabinets all the way through the install, every one was helpful, reliable and knowledgeable! I'd certainly use them again when we have a need. We had a cabinet installed in our garage. Good quality! Great options! Thanks! read more

Great workers who came out to install. Friendly and quality guys. Shon, the sales rep, was excellent in her vision of how it should be designed (challenging size and dimensions) and response to any question I asked via phone. My closet looks infinitely better than it once did. read more

I would not recommend Closet by Design in Mequon. The employees had a very hard time understanding design execution. The installation was a horrible experience. Basic cabinets were replaced over and over again as the installers seemed to mess up and damage almost everything that was being installed. Unfortunately the owner does not over see the projects/employees very well. I will never be using this business again. read more

Sandy Jeremy was extremely helpful and nice to work with. She helped us find our best solution while still keeping us near our budget. Here is something remarkable about Closets by Design. I was having new red oak floor installed in our master bedroom and master closet before my install date for the closet. I had to have their carpenter come 3 weeks ahead of my scheduled install date to do the demolition of the old closet. This would make it easier for the new closet install if the new floors were already installed. CBD had to remove the old shelving unit as the new shelving unit had different dimensions. They understood my delima and had a carpenter come the NEXT Day, Saturday, to do the demo work. Now, that is great service!! Finally, the install date came and the carpenter transformed the space to a luxury room. I even bought a chandelier from Ferguson's (see Kathryn) to complete the glam look! Thank you, CBD Barbara Cesarec read more

Closets by Design called the day before as promised to advised install time. They said between 1 and 3. I received a few phone calls from numbers I didn't know that morning. At 10 am the door bell rang it was Jacob the installer. He had tried to call me but I didn't answer. He was finished with his morning install and then came to see if it was alright to start mine. Of course it was. So after I gave him instructions as to where to park, he carried the stuff in and began. He was done at 11:15. He was polite, friendly, efficient and did a wonderful job. He was neat, wiped everything down and had a vacuum to clean out the doors but all my outlets are hard to get to so I told him I would do that. I had two closet doors and clothes rod which needed to be taken out and he volunteered to take them to dispose of them. Something I would have a hard time doing. I very much enjoyed my experience with Closet by Design and would use them again and recommend them. My daughter used that other closet company and mine is just as nice as hers and a lot less money read more
