three jars of honey on a table
Tiffany N.

Schnikes this stuff is spectacular! I discovered them last wk when they had a booth set up for the Xmas Market Uptown @ The Independence Center. I wandered down there to find a gift for a secret santa exchange and when I started talking with them, they were extremely friendly, gave me the 411 on their products and even let me sample a little something something. If you give me free food or samples, you will have my heart forever. First, I tried their whipped honey which they have in different flavors like chocolate, cinnamon and pumpkin and is au naturale and I think 16 calories per serving....kinda sure they said that, if not, I want to believe it. Super tasty stuff. I bought a jar for myself and my secret santa plus their Infused Honey. They had the infused honey in vanilla and chili pepper. I only tried the chili pepper b/c anything vanilla takes me back to when I was 16 yrs old, working at Walgreens and had to stock Vanilla Fields (when I think about it now, I gag a little) but back to the point---Chili Pepper Infused Honey. Absolutely amazing. It was really sweet at first but then the heat started to make an entrance and they said it would be good on both chicken or shrimp. Soooo....who wants to let me use their grill?? Bee sure to check them out (I had to piggyback off of Nicole's buzzing joke!)

Reid's Fine Foods - Wine bar and grocery shopping

As a foodie transplant from the West Coast, walking into Reid's immediately reminded me of a…read morebeloved high-end grocer back home--something along the lines of Draeger's: beautifully curated, family-owned, and designed to feel like a destination rather than just a place to shop. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.

She makes the best soups and vegan Mac and Cheese. During the month of January, I do the Daniel Fast for 21 days and a lot of her items have the ingredients that are ok for the fast. This gives you more of a variety during the fast with your fruits, vegetables, grains, and potatoes. Also, she has a wide variety of jams and jellies, I purchase the no sugar added grape jelly and its delicious. The sweetness comes from the fruit juice so it keeps its natural flavor. This is also another item that I can enjoy during my Daniel Fast. Aside from the fresh fruits, vegetables, dishes, soups, spreads, and more Beverly and Dale are great people. They are so kind and very helpful, I reached out to Beverly for assistance with a local basket I was creating for work. She researched ideas with me and provided great options with local vendors here in Charlotte. I highly recommend Beverly's Gourmet Foods which is locations in the Mecklenburg Farmers Market store.

I love when businesses, especially food trucks have details like that. I ordered the seaside macchiato on their June specialty drink menu. I told the lady working that I prefer my drinks sweet so she suggested that I add more sweetener. They worked at a great pace with the line that they had. The wait wasn't too long. Maybe 5-7 minutes. My name was called and I stepped up for my drink. It was so pretty! I took a sip and immediately realized that it was not sweet enough to my liking. I stirred and received the same outcome. I went back to the window and asked for more sweetener. The guy working was apologetic and took my drink back with no complaint. Unfortunately, as he attempted to place my cup on the counter, the cup fell. He apologized again and remade it. He didn't cuss, fuss, or seem angry, he just remade the drink. That really made an impact because I would've expected a bit of frustration and there wasn't any. He remade my drink and explained that how I wanted it made, he had to add one less espresso shot. I thanked him for his patience and remaking my drink. They have great customer service! I give this company two thumbs up.
