I lived there years ago - when it was newish. The finishes were cheap builder grade, but the high ceilings and big windows are a plus. good storage, great square footage. At that time, maybe still, the bottom two floors were Section 8 housing. In the warmer months, the police were there almost every weekend. One morning I left for work (I was on an upper floor) to see my long hall covered with graffiti. It was painted over by the time I got home. This is a great place to live! The gym, pool, sauna & spa are right in the building. The units are spacious with high ceilings and lots of light. The security is really good and I feel safe here. Historic downtown is 2 blocks away with a great variety of restaurant options, along with the Center for the Arts. Surface parking here is tight, but the covered parking is only $75/month, also very secure and convenient, I'd budget for that. Utilities are a fraction of what I used to pay. It's really nice to have a secure mailroom. All of the big box shopping is one exit away. The building and grounds are clean and well-kept. The staff are great, very responsive and friendly, and always open to feedback (wow!) California Burritos is in the parking lot! Highly recommend. read more

I will be factual and unbiased in this review so fellow consumers can be well informed about this property and the surrounding area. Before I begin it is important that this review is from an outside persons perspective, as I am temporary relocated in Nashua, NH for business reasons. I have lived here for two (2) years now, I noticed that the management, unfortunately is inconstant with meeting customer/tenant requests in a timely and welcoming manner...I try to avoid the management office because they make me feel like I am imposing. Now in the Management's defense this may be due to the office being understaffed, I can tell the Management team often seems "stressed out" and cranky. I have lived in two separate units over the two years. My first year I was in a two bedroom on the first floor. To be chief, I warn prospective tenants, do not live anywhere in the building that feels humid or damp.....there will be mold. This made me very upset, as I own a multi-family that I rent to college students, and would never subject a human being, in a first world country to pay to live somewhere there is visible mold growing on sheet rock and near my HVAC inlet to spread mold spores throughout my apartment for me to inhale....unacceptable...not for $1,450 per month for a 2br. On the contrary my new unit ($1,550 3br/mo) does not have this problem, it is spacious with high ceilings and is very clean, (it is also well above ground level). The units are economical looking with vinyl flooring and economical carpet. The appliances are basic, nothing stainless, nothing special. There are washer and dryers located on every floor, of course at a price, to wash and dry a medium load will cost $3.75. I find this reasonable, but I think it's a minor inconvenience to have to haul your laundry down the hallways when most other 'nicer' rental properties have a washer/dryer inside of the unit. Their is a DIVERSITY of income within the building, what I mean by that is quite literal. In short this place works for me right now(I am becoming anxious to relocate), I am not saying this property is Excellent and I am not saying it is Terrible, I would just ask you be careful in considering living here I moved in this building from out of town and felt very mislead in terms of the atmosphere. I moved to the Clocktower Place Apartments a month ago and I love where I live! The apartments are very spacious with high ceilings and French windows overlooking a beautiful river. When we first moved in, there were several issues in the apartment which really bothered us. But when I contacted the staff, they were more than helpful to fix all the issues as fast as they could. I come here several times a day to deliver food to residents. Based on what I see, The higher up you live, the better your room. The lowest levels are drenched in the haunting stains of slap-dash graffiti cover-up. Each floor ha sit sown unique paint scheme and carpeting that sets a nice mood when getting where you need to go. You can tell it hasn't changed much since its conception in 1992. Still smells like a mill, with floor 3 (orange cog carpet) smelling the most like paper. There are security cameras everywhere! In corners, ceilings, you name it. I doubt they serve much purpose, though. While you need to get buzzed in to enter from the front, there are large doorways around the sides and back that I have used to enter residential and maintenance areas well past 9pm. I have spoken to a few residents and the sole guard and all have told me these doors are supposed to be locked. read more

Really excited to move here, but after 6 months the continued disappointments are too much to ignore. Between the homeless people that constantly harass the residents, the ones that sleep behind the building, the disregard for residents by the office, and the carpeted floors.... this place is a HUGE let down. I have lived in Phase 1 for over 6 months now, and we love the apartment itself. The ceilings in the living room and sun room are 10+ feet, and the windows are huge and let in a lot of light. We have a sun room off the living room, and each of the bedrooms look out on to it. Unfortunately the sun room is not insulated well, so it is really only a 3-season room. The closet space is great, but lacks much shelving (especially in the pantry and master bedroom walk-in). Wall to wall carpet is great, and we love having 2 bathrooms for the three of us. BUT, management is inattentive and unhelpful. The woman commonly at the front desk can be flat out rude, and has walked away when she saw myself and another woman go in to get packages, making us wait for over 10 minutes for us to check them out. This person has also selectively ignored my emails and maintenance requests before. The most helpful member of the office staff seems overworked and simply cannot deal with everything all by herself (unfortunately). She has been trying to solve an issue with the amount of noise from our upstairs neighbor, but apparently there's no sound policy and she is consistently ignored, leaving us to deal with rattling dishes and lights and all-day stomping that keeps us up. This makes me wonder why we bother being good neighbors in return, as apparently management has no authority here. The pool is a great amenity to have on-site but you pay extra for it and despite being close for maintenance all the time, the walls are filthy looking. The hot tub has piles of sand in the corners. The steam rooms don't seem to work and smell horrible, as well as having terribly offensive graffiti all over them. I made this last part aware to the main office very shortly after moving in, but that has not been dealt with at all. I don't think any of the staff has entered those rooms in quite some time, and I understand why I've never seen another person down in the pool area. Maintenance has dealt with our small issues pretty quickly and well - when they even receive the report from the main office. The painter with the dreads is especially nice and does a great job! One gentleman did enter our apartment when we told them no entry unless we are present, and then blatantly ignored the problem with our fridge. But an angry email cleared that right up and the problem was fixed and they have since been very careful to respect our wishes about entry since then. I LOVE these apartments but would NOT recommend them based on my experience so far. Location is great, the layout is fun and open, assigned garage parking is very useful, the workout area is nice and open late. But I feel we over pay for the level of professionalism and service we get. read more

I've been living here for a year and have nothing bad to really say about Clocktower as have the previous two reviewers. I don't use the gym or pool, so I can't really comment on them. I've never had a problem with management, they've always been courteous and helpful when I've asked of something (which really hasn't been much). The only thing I will complain about are the occasional kids running up and down the halls, but hey, what do you expect from an apartment complex? Facing south, I hardly have to run my heat in the winter, keeping my utility bills to a minimum. I'm not really sure what would make this a 5-star place...perhaps if I didn't have to pay rent...lol...or if the kids weren't running up and down the halls. read more

It's like an overpriced dorm. It is a good choice if your a kid starting out and quality doesn't matter yet. Near Main st. In desperate need of renovation! Kitchens/ appliances/ bathrooms need updating and repair. Comparable square footage to other places in the aria and rent seems ok until you realize you need to pay extra for any use of the building and covered parking. I noticed that some of the 5 star reviews on google and facebook are from people who work here or at cotton mill across the river. read more

We've been living here for around 9 months and cannot wait to move out. There are some nice things about the place but after today I cannot give Clocktower any more than one star. The Good: -We like the apartment itself quite a lot. 2br/2ba, master br is quite spacious and has a nice walk-in closet. Basic appliances and fixtures but we haven't had any major issues. There's a "bonus" storage area above the kitchen area that we love. We're on the 5th floor in phase 2 on the parking lot side. -We've never had any problems with noise from our neighbors. The walls are quite thin so we do hear them sometimes, I could see it being an issue with different neighbors. -The on-site convenience store is nice. -There's plenty of surface parking. -Just upgraded their community management software, the new software is quite nice and easy to use. The OK: -Leasing office is OK to work with. Sometimes they are very responsive and accommodating, other times we've gone days without an email response. They're usually pretty good about giving advance notice about things like water shut-offs, though that seems to happen more than it should. Once they sent out the wrong date and never corrected it, so we were caught off guard by the water shut off. It's nice that they sign for packages at the office and have decent availability (until 8pm) to pick them up. The "Bad, but not 1-star bad": -Speed bumps in the parking lot are super super high. We have to go about 1mph over them (not an exaggeration, my wife has rolled backwards off the top of one because if she goes any faster she'll bottom out). The highest one is also missing almost all of its paint, so it's nearly all black. The "Bad, but not Clocktower's Fault": -We've had some recurring issues with smoke smell in our apartment. Management has been very responsive about contacting those we think are responsible and taking some steps to seal our wall a little better. -There's a ton of construction going on right next to the building. The road out of the parking lot is in terrible shape due to this and has been for months. -There's a lot of noise pollution from large trucks, both from the construction and from the loading docks across the parking lot. The reasons I'm giving this 1 star: -The heating situation in the winter is insane. Without ever turning on the heat for our apartment, it was regularly at 76. We slept with the window open and a fan in it at first, but that gave my wife all kinds of trouble with her allergies, so we ended up running an air conditioner in our bedroom at night. ALL WINTER LONG. Blizzard outside? A/C or it's 76. Sub-zero temperatures? A/C or it's 76. This proved to be a huge issue for us and we decided we were unwilling to spend another winter in the building. Would probably be better on a lower floor, but other reviewers have mentioned mold concerns on the lower floors. -THE FIRE ALARM. Oh, let me tell you about the fire alarm. It's gone off 4 times that we're aware of since we moved in (perhaps more when we've been out of the house). The first two times were both at 2am, and it's gone off twice this morning, once at 6:45am and once at 12:15pm. This is BY FAR the worst fire alarm my wife or I have ever experienced. We have experienced fire alarms in large office buildings, college dorm rooms, etc. Nothing we have ever been through is even 1/100 as bad as the fire alarm at clocktower. I have no idea how it's even as loud as it is, and on top of the usual blaring there is an earsplitting constant shriek at the worst possible frequency that makes it literally unbearable to remain in the building. Oh, did I mention we have two cats? Yeah. They are absolutely terrified of the fire alarm. One of our cats was so traumatized the first time she threw up for 3 days straight afterwards. She's never thrown up other than that. This last time, we couldn't get her out from under the bed to take her out of the building, so she had to wait through the entire alarm (10-20 minutes of the worst noise you've ever heard). And she wouldn't come out for at least an hour afterwards either. And our other cat is now afraid of normal everyday beeping noises. Having a fire alarm go off 5-6 times a year would be annoying but understandable for a building of this size. Having THIS fire alarm go off even ONCE was enough to make us want to move. I hope this has been a fair and balanced review. I tried to cover the good parts as well, though for the reasons I've outlined we are completely fed up and will be moving out as soon as our lease is up (probably even a bit sooner). Without the last two issues I think we'd probably still be moving, but not with anywhere near the same urgency. read more

This place is ok. The apartments are somewhat big and have high ceilings. The complex is right next to the Nashua River and a creepy mill. They have a gym which has basics for weight lifting and running. There's a pool and jacuzzi but they're gross. There's good securities...cameras everywhere. Although there are ton of apartment I don't really see other residents...so I'm not sure WHO actually lives here, but it's quiet which can be nice. It's also pretty close to downtown Nashua, but who cares about that ... it's Nashua. read more

The noise here is unacceptable. It is normal to hear a person walking in the hallway, voices muffled, muffled footsteps ect. But as of this moment,we are listening to our neighbor BLARING their entertainment center. It sounds like it is IN our apartment, and you can feel our bedroom wall vibrate. Also if you are near an elevator, trash room etc. expect to hear noise from that also. There are some pretty bad neighborhoods right nearby - that also is true. Security here is outstanding - there are cameras everywhere. The garage, is not really connected that great - you may walk a long distance to get to it. The ceilings are very high, rooms are good sized, kitchen is dated and so are the bathrooms. So far, staff has been good to deal with. The landscaping is nicely done and very clean. The laundry rooms are on each level and you are given a card to use - each load is $2. I'd not call this a luxury place - but it does have potential. There are some updated items in the place, so maybe they are slowly upgrading.... I'd say it depends on where you are in the building as to how your living space will feel and suit you. EDIT: Since writing this - we had to call security once more - this time the security officer did show up - only to be told by the neighbor that they did turn it down - which they did a TAD. Still the security person could hear the noise in the hall booming! and said, "This happens all the time there is nothing we can do about it". This is not acceptable. To have a "luxury" apartment that has the noise levels of a tenement building - should not be listed as luxury. The faucets in the kitchen and bath are 1980s - there is caulking upon caulking around counters - kitchen is very small and hard to cook in (stove was new) - bathrooms offer no counter space (good luck shaving or putting on makeup) - there are too many negatives to balance out the few positives about the place. We did not have any issues with staff - they do not respond to emails well....if you want something you'll have to trek to the office. After the last call for assistance the neighbors actually became much worse and we had to leave! It was unbearable! For that amount of money - something should have been done other than lip service! If you read positive reviews about this place - it isn't written by the tenants. If you listen to others talk in the elevators, you hear nothing but negative. During a fire alarm - standing outside - there was a lady who walked right by into the building saying, "this use to happen 2 times a night! pay no attention" read more

I moved out of my apartment in December. Of course the Resident Manager was there to inspect the unit when I left. I told her I had not yet called the electric company to take my name off the bill. She told me that she had a "Landlord Portal" account with the utility (PSNH) and she would take care of that for me. A month later I received an electric bill for the month of January. Obviously Clocktower management never took my name off the bill, so PSNH was taking money from my bank account to pay their electric bill. I wrote to CTP and asked them (politely) to resolve this problem with the electric company. They should have told PSNH I moved out in December and asked for the January bill to be assigned to them. Instead they ignored me. In February I found out PSNH is STILL billing my bank account for the electric bill at Clocktower Place. I asked PSNH who I could talk to about "fraudulent billing" by a commercial property manager, but I never got a straight answer. I don't how or when I'm ever going to resolve this mess. By the way- when I moved out the apartment was in excellent condition, yet CTP never returned my deposit. I don't have time to write about all of the problems I've had with CTP. This experience is like many others I had there. Beware of the management at this property! read more

We love our apartment itself. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, which has high ceilings and windows, and lots of storage space. The fixtures are rental grade, and probably haven't been updated since 1990, but they work. The rest of the building, however, is a mess. The washers and dryers are always out of order, and the pool is always closed for maintenance. The walls are paper thin, and you hear everything. The tenants are an odd conglomerate of everyone from students to working professionals, to sketchy looking characters. There is a high concentration of Section 8 units in Phase I, so take from that what you will. The building location is great, just a few blocks from Main Street. The parking lot does back up into the "tree" streets (a seedy part of town), but I have not had nor heard of any incidents of crime. Management is useless. They range from nasty and rude to just plain dumb. Rent seems a little high, but considering that there are few apartment buildings in Nashua with any kind of character, Clocktower is in a league of its own so it can get away with charging high rates. Overall, if you want a cool apartment in a great location and don't expect a lot from management or a sense of community, then Clocktower will work for you. read more
