At the risk of sounding like a "me too" review, I love the folks at Clocktiques! In cleaning out my folks' house, they had an old German (Adolph Hummel - -Badena) wall clock that needed to be serviced and then packed for transport. I called, and they made an appointment to come out to the house on my next trip down. Rick looked that 1948 wall clock over every which way and determined that it only needed a little cleaning and a good oiling, which he then did right there. Then he helped me pack the clock into an old 1948 German steamer trunk for transport. He showed he how to operate the clock and how to trouble shoot a couple of potential issues. I liked the repair service and the customer service so well that I brought down on my next trip a mantel clock and a box full of watches. He carefully looked over every item and honestly explained which ones were worth fixing and which weren't, and why. I picked the ones to have him work on, he and Crystal wrote them all up, packaged them, and carried them back to the safe place. As I came down for subsequent trips, a couple of the items would be ready for me to pick up. For each item, Rick walked me through the process for operating the item. Each one looked like it was in the peak of life, not some neglected, dirt-encrusted forgotten bit. One item was a Rolex GMT Master watch that my dad bought decades ago and wore until the day he died. Rick and his crew completely restored the watch, and then went the extra "Bling Bling" step, as they call it, to make it look like he just pulled it off the jewelry store display. "WOW!" I kept saying... I almost had to put on my sunglasses... Rick and Crystal and the rest of the crew are terrific! While they treat you with the respect appropriate to customer service, at the same time they treat you more like honored family! And, their patience with the likes of me was above and beyond! A few years ago we got around to get our grandfather clock running again. Clocktiques got it done for us. Then last year, we had the room repainted and had to commit the sin of moving the clock and of course, problems. It would run for 30-60 minutes and then stop. Kevan came out twice, checked it over. The first time, he got it level again and it seemed to work fine. The second time, he checked it all again and it was as it should be. But it still stopped. He and a coworker came out the third time. All was in order but they saw it stop. they stuck with it until they found the problem was that part of the wooden clock face was bent out of place and put pressure on the clock face. Absolutely incredible customer service from a local business! I brought in my Grandmother's 1920 Gilbert mantel clock which hadn't worked for years into the shop for service and repair. The gentlemen (Rick) not only fixed the antique clock quickly and expertly, he provided informaiton on the make/year/background on the clock that nobody in my family had known. He is obviously extraordinarily knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and he and the employees there provide a personable and outstanding customer service experience. I had an estimate to repair/redo my diamond engagement ring from another local jewelry store in Wake Forest which was outrageous. Knowing I could never afford that cost, I took my setting into Clocktiques to get some cash for the setting. When I explained why I was selling it, they took a look at the stones and setting and came up with a plan that was exactly what I was hoping for! The cost was unbelievably less expensive. hey these people are great stopped by to get a quote on a gold ring today , the ring was 14k and didnt weigh very much but rick and crystal treated me like i was family . they sat me down and explained how the whole process works , checked it with a magnet then looked for the karat mark then told me what that meant and then tested my ring with acid then they weighed it and offered me more for the ring than two other places in town[ 100 dollars] i will definately recommend them and continue to do business there as well read more

These folks are so darned nice.....& good at what they do. They have replaced many watch batteries for me & at a price that is so reasonable I won't ever bother trying to open up another watch again. My husband, who is disabled, needed an adjustment made to his watchband. They came to him at the car, figured out what needed to be done, went inside & did it, returned to the car & put the watch on his wrist. You just don't get this kind of friendly, helpful service everywhere but, you sure do at Clocktiques!! read more

I needed repair on my Grandfather Clock which has been in my family since 1974. I had raised one of the weights and inadvertently knocked off the pendulum. This was something I didn't dare try to fix myself. No way. So...Two great Clocktique servicemen just left my home. All is now fixed perfectly PLUS they were kind enough to diagnose a problem with the moon dial and get that working again too. 10 star rating. Great service. On time. Good price. Expert repair of a destroyed 1972 Black Forest Cuckoo Clock from my childhood. I'm 53. Last time I remember seeing it run was when I was 5 years old. They worked on it for 3 months and restored it to the original state. My wife did this for me for Xmas after I found it, cleaning out my parents' house after they passed away. I brought my antique double steeple mantle clock in for repair. This is after it had been in another shop for over a year and I was still having the same problem. He was able to fix it while I waited! When I brought it back to be cleaned he only had it for two months. I say only, because in Ohio it would take almost 18 months!
