To resize a ring from 9.5-7.5, there's almost 1/2 a centimeter taken off. There's plenty to give back. The manager just lied about it instead to keep the metal, which I did not get a credit for. If the sales lady was upfront about taking the extra metal and keeping it, I wouldn't be upset, but due to the fact that she waved me off and made me think my ask was reasonable, then gaslit me after, I lost a part of an important heirloom to my family.

The customer service is consistently top-notch. I picked up a Tudor FXD from them brand new, and the entire process was smooth and enjoyable. I also sold them a vintage Rolex, and they were very fair with their offer. I combined that with some of my own money to purchase the Tudor, and I couldn't be happier with how everything worked out. The store itself is clean and welcoming. On hot days they even offer cold water, which is a small touch but says a lot about how they treat their customers. Their selection of pre-owned watches is excellent--plenty of great pieces to look through. I haven't spent much time on the jewelry side, but the watch selection alone is worth the visit. Overall, Brockhaus is a solid place to buy or sell watches, and I've always left feeling well taken care of. Highly recommended.

Diamonds Direct was so easy, transparent, and accommodating that we didn't even finish checking out other places around town. I saw some other review saying the associates were very rude regarding budget, but that was not my experience. I was very plain and transparent that I didn't want to spend over $2k on the diamond (lab-grown), and they were very supportive and helped me make various things cheaper, etc. At no point did I feel like they were rude because I wasn't spending a lot. Cindy was our primary contact, but we also had brief exposure to Dana and Mo. They were all lovely and very helpful. While our order was being prepared, Cindy kept us updated periodically via phone/text. The level of attention and care was very welcome. We did have an issue with a missing diamond we reserved, but they were super apologetic about it and actually shipped in a bigger diamond for the same price, so they took a bad situation and turned it into a positive. To summarize, Diamonds Direct makes it easy for a non-diamond person to casually participate. At the end of the day, I wanted a good deal, my fiancé wanted a big rock; we both ended up happy.
