I took my clock in for maintenance last January. It has hung in the same spot in my house for the past 44 years. After five months I checked back. Still, not ready. I finally picked it up in September. I got it home and it ran erratically. The chimes started and never stopped until the spring unwound. The pendulum would stop after a few hours. I could make it run longer if I hung it at a funny angle. I called and was told to bring it back and it would get priority treatment. i was told to be very careful about the angle it was hung at and that it was working well. I got it home and nothing had changed. The time is never right no matter what length I adjust the pendulum to. After a few hours, it's either running fast or slow. I hate to say it, but I am going to write off the $450 and find some other shop to get things right. I take no pleasure in writing this review but I will avoid this business like the plague. read more

I want to inform anyone needing clock repair to avoid doing business with "Clocks and More" located in Hoffman Town shopping center. My Regulator clock stopped working so I took it in for service. About 3 months later I paid $253 and picked up my clock. I was told it was working properly and had been cleaned and oiled. After returning home it was obvious the clock was not working. It no longer chimed and the hour hand remained stuck at the one o-clock position. I called "Clocks and More" and they said to bring the clock back for service. Upon arrival at the shop, I explicitly told the clerk of the observed malfunction (she didn't write any notes). After several weeks I called to check on the clock and was told by the clerk, "I need to check with the technician and call you back". I didn't receive a call or message. When I called a couple of weeks later, I was informed the technician was on extended leave for personal reasons and to check back later. Several days later I called back and was told that the clock was ready for pick-up. I asked the clerk at the shop if they had fixed the stuck hour hand problem and she replied "how would I know". Clocks and More has changed ownership. After purchasing a pocket watch there it stopped working within days. I returned the watch and was told it had been dropped which was not true. A refund was refused and I will never purchase another watch there. Clocks and More has always been slow because for years it has been the only place to have grandfather clocks repaired. Well, I guess I am joining the ranks of others who did not have a good experience with this business. I was given an antique clock that needed repair so I took it to Clocks and More on Aug.17, 2023 for an estimate. I asked the lady at the counter for some history on the clock as I knew nothing about antique clocks. She couldn't or wouldn't, was not interested in speaking to me at all, and said the repair person(s) was too busy to speak to me but would call me by the next day. They did not. Three weeks went by and she called to tell me the cost to restore would be close to $500. I again asked for more information on the clock to understand and perhaps be given a reason as to why I might want to pay that amount. She again promised someone would call me. They did not. I called on Sept. 14th and said I still would like to know about the clock. She was abrupt with me and told me that, "There is nothing special about your clock. There were a lot of them made." Wow. I told her I would just pick it up. When I got there, she was cold and said not one word to me in greeting. I got the clock and left. I called Mountain Time Clock and Repair. The owner, Steve McCracken, called me back immediately. I was very impressed by his friendliness and interest. I took the clock there and found out it was a Seth Thomas Black Mantle clock circa 1885-1905 and he shared with me some wonderful information about the history of the clock, how and why they were made, and even what went into the design and working of the clock. I chose to donate the clock to him as I know it will get the love and restoration it deserves. Mr. McCracken has a true love of antique clocks and loves sharing his knowledge about them with his customers. If anyone has a family heirloom that needs work, this is your guy! I wouldn't even give it one star if I didn't have to I took me grand Father clock to then for cleaning and a tuneup it was running slow. We'll 5 fucken months later and 800.00 I picked it up and took it home and the next day it stopped working. I called them and they told me to bring it back and he would look at it like what the hell man. Like it's just so easy for me to put it on the truck and bring it back it's a lot of work bringing it over there in the truck and picking it up and they act like it's just something you can just drop off in a second number two it was running fine when I dropped it up they messed it up and charge me $800 these people are crap and then they were rude and insensitive and it had no knowledge of what the hell they were doing I could tell the lady was super rude these people should be out of business I'm amazed somebody hasn't smashed their windows out with rocks because you're so pissed wouldn't blame it if they did. I mean all that time waiting months for it to not even work do yourself a favor save your money and go somewhere besides this place they are a ripoff. They take all the enjoyment out of owning a clock terrible business. I wish I owned the property there I'd kick their asses out in a heartbeat save your money folks and stay away from this place. read more

I join the less-than-satisfied customers here. I had a large, chiming wall clock that I wanted to have serviced - cleaned, adjusted, nothing was really wrong with it. Just routine maintenance to keep it operating. They had this clock for 3 months. And after this 3 months, I had to return it three times, because it did not work properly - told incorrect time, didn't chime. When I finally got a working clock back, a few months later it stopped working, and I called another clock technician who came to my house to fix it. In doing so, a piece of the clock fell off (it been improperly installed), and parts rolled over the floor. Fortunately, the technician was able to find all the screws that had flown out. I paid over $300 for this miserable "service." It's hard to find a knowledgeable, reputable clock repair service in Albuquerque - and this isn't one of them. read more

Okay, so I drop off my watches which were supposed to be ready "in a few weeks." I call in "a few weeks" and they tell me the SOLE watch repair person has gotten busy and he will not have the watches ready (he can only clean/repair 2 of the 4) now in well over one more MONTH. They say he will definitely have the 2 finished by the first week of July and will call me when they are done. It is now July 29 or 3 MORE weeks after the promised completion date (they have had the watches for a couple of months) and NOT even a call let alone completion of the job...they are "closed until the first of August). I've never dealt with a more irresponsible business whose word means nothing, at all. This company has consistently failed to do what they said by the time they said they would do it. They have had my watches for a couple of months and they STILL haven't cleaned them or ever called me. I will let you judge but my conclusion is: AVOID AVOID AVOID. They apparently don't know what a commitment or promise is or being responsible as a business. Why would you use these people for anything? Also, another reviewer wrote "friendly." HA! I was scowled at when I dropped off the watches to begin with. Are you ever going to deliver my watches? You do have FOUR of them. read more

We took my Great Grandma's German cuckoo clock to them. It needed a lot of work. They did a good job for the most part except they had the clock for nearly a year. Everytime we'd ask about it they would say that it would take 3 more weeks. Once the guy told me to come back in a week then acted like I was ridiculous when I showed up. When they were done they had forgotten the antlers so he grabbed a couple of mismatched ones and gave them to me. Neither of which match the clock. Six months later the clock stopped working. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything except maybe watch battery replacement. read more

In the several years of miserable customer service they have NEVER answered their phone, have lied to me repeatedly concerning repair date, havre NEVER called me even though Loretta said she did, charged me for cleaning when they didn't and if my experience is the norm Clocks & More is totally devoid of business ethics. This business had my moms watch for several months and when it can back the her the front of her watch had a deep crack with a chunk of the face of the crown gone. I mentioned it to the people that work there and they said "what do you think we do here throw watches around?!" We asked how much it would be to replace it he said "he'd have to look around for one and it would cost $40". The least he could do would we be able to replace it and not have a us pay for it that would be courtesy and customer service. No he sat there and fought with me about it and said it was a vintage watch and that we scratched it up. The watch has been sitting in the box the whole entire time and we finally took it out to actually wear it because it is vintage and we don't want to play around with it and scratch it up. So that's why it's been in in a watch box. But now it's all dinged up and a big huge crack on the side of it. So beware and think twice if you want to go there and keep your watch is in one piece and be accused of what you are doing to your own jewelry when they don't even know a thing. read more

Scheduled a repair of our Howard Miller-Presidential edition Reagan model grandfather clock. Took them three months to arrive charged almost $400. Two months later it stopped working. I wanted to call them immediately however, husband had me wait. Not sure why as it never started to,work again on its' own! Took matters into my own hands after being without my very expensive clock for four months called them 6/28,at noon, left a message. No return call. Called back 7/1, left another message explained the problem reminding them they had supposedly "repaired" the problem in December. Again, no return call! Called them yet again, Friday 7/5, noon, left a third message, clearly frustrated that they are ignoring me likely because they did not want to acknowledge their repair man had no clue what he was doing and were afraid I would demand a refund. As of today 7/9, have not even received the courtesy of a return call. VERY POOR BUSINESS IGNORING CUSTOMERS. THEY APPARENTLY HAVE NO CLUE HOW,TO REPAIR HOWARD MILLER PRESIDENTIAL EDITION CLOCKS.
