The shop is clean and is quiet even when it's busy. Sometimes the line gets long but it's because they are taking the time to do a good job with each customer. They offer hot lather, straight razor shaves which is pretty cool. A hot towel wrap on your face is way more relaxing than you would think. The prices are reasonable. Go see my man Greg. Where do I start?…read more Came in for a handful of services: root touch up, hair cut, style....$140+ with tip. 1) Root touch up - did not properly color match, so I paid for a root touch up that is lighter than the rest of my hair. I explained that my silver grey roots are resistant, but my other hairdressers have had no problem mixing the right combination together for color correction and long lasting penetration. The color chosen is too light, and I am suspicious about the quality of the product used as well. 2) I asked for a haircut, had a reference photo in my hand and she didn't care to look at it. I paid full price for the hair cut but all I received was a trim to my length and a touch up to the one layer around my face. I see this as pure laziness and not wanting to give me a full haircut. 3) I asked for all three services at the beginning but was being sent out the door with wet hair. I had to remind her I wanted a style. She didn't ask me how I wanted it styled but was happy to say it was extra (a reoccurring theme) and then gave me a pretty lazily speed done style with a blow dryer and curling wand. I wanted flat iron curls, not what I was given. 4) A coworker was sort of watching everything and spoke up of the overcharges. My hairdresser tried to charge me extra for "longer length" when I was just getting my roots touched up. This coworker made sure thar I wasn't charged the extra charge. 5) I came here because I couldn't wait for an appointment anywhere else. I was also hoping to get more affordable services, but considering the type of services I received which were all SO SUB PAR, I really didn't save much money at all. Overall, I will not be returning. I can pay $40 extra and have a nice salon experience, with head massage and hand massage included, and good communication, leaving feeling so much better, with an actual haircut, correct color, and styling my hair better. I don't mind given other salons like this chances, have all my life, but it seems like quality and service have really gone down the drain in places like this, with both management and employees trying to nickle and dime you for everything. Whats next? Want hairspray? That's $5 extra? I feel sorry for the hair dressers here who do good work, and how this review and the below average work of their peers reflects them. My best advice to the staff is to try to foster an environment of better communication between customers and provide an experience that makes people want to return, because this is where the major failure was.

The salon is super clean, spacious and eclectic, with artwork and home decor pieces created by one of the owner/stylists. I came in with a mop of an old perm I was growing out and asked for a short style that would cut away as much as possible. Chris Calandro was my stylist; I showed him Pinterest photos of short bobs and layered cuts; he spent time suggesting what could be done, and the adventure began. The time Chris spent was so much more than I expected. His attention to detail and precision showed the true skill of an excellent master stylist. I am exceedingly pleased with the outcome! These photos don't highlight the mistakes that this stylist made. Large chunks were obvious throughout my head. Brassy, multi-colored pieces could be discovered all over. I couldn't put my hair up without feeling like Marty from the movie Madagascar. I express my concerns with the stylist and she, instead of apologizing and trying to make it better, she said she didn't see anything wrong and in fact said "it's highlights boo" as if I had never had my hair done before. Regardless I wanted to give her an opportunity to correct her mistake and schedule an appointment for her to fix it on Friday. Come Friday Sam made an excuse as to why she couldn't keep my appointment and rescheduled for Saturday. Come Saturday I had to basically beg to be seen to have the problem fixed. I get the the salon earlier that appointed to help her manage her time better. To my horror, instead of adding a few foils and toning my hair, she began painting bleach to the right side of my head. After rinsing the right side she discovered her mistake and bleached my entire head. I had no idea what she was thinking but felt afraid to say anything because she and another client there kept saying comments about how techniques are supposed to be and complaining about how late they were going to be there. I'm just appalled at how I was treated and how my hair looks. By the way they have a no refund policy so make sure you go to anywhere else. See comments for what my hair actually looks like not under a circle light. Disclaimer: I never wanted to be a platinum blonde.
