So I have been shaving my head for the past year; therefore, I have not been to a barber shop in the past year. Today, my brother-in-law needed a haircut, and I found this shop on yelp. We found the shop with ease. We arrived in the morning with only a few customers and my bro-in-law was able to get seated immediately. The shop provided a comfortable atmosphere with random and entertaining conversations. R&B music playing in the background and just people chilling. The barber took his time cutting my bro-in-law's haircut and paid attention to the detail and symmetry. The cut was fresh! In addition, the other customers appeared satisfied with their haircuts. We went into Blades on 10th st. as a first time customer(s). We are from New Jersey and needed cuts prior to our meetings. Two of 3 barbers were cutting hair. A 3rd barber was outside on cellphone. We were directed to sign in and have a seat. We did. There were no other customers waitng. Both of the working Barbers finished around the same time. The 3rd barber came in. We sat, and sat and sat...waiting to be called. After 12 minutes of watching the pre-occupied Barbers(the male Barber closed up his station and left)...we just got up and left the shop. In all of our travels thru mid-wet to the East coast, This was the worst customer service we've ever encountered from a barbershop. read more

Very impressed with my haircut. Jay did a great job and the whole shop had a great vibe & friendly astmosphere. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that when I first arrived, everyone was huddled up eating breakfast, an hour after opening. This isn't even close to a deal breaker for me, and I'm going to give them another chance (this was the best cut I've had in a while). I have short hair and I went in to get my nape trimmed up. It went fine until he put the clippers at a 90 degree angle to my scalp and proceeded to cut that way to fade the edges. All I could say was "ouch!". They take cards, but it's PayPal and they charge you an extra dollar for it. I walked in and the only person who bothered to speak English was the guy who cut my hair. There were no other customers and I guess customer comfort isn't at the top of their priorities. I speak Spanish just fine but the point is that no one should assume that. You run the risk of alienating people when you look at them and start speaking in a foreign language. My hair looked good afterward and the stylist did a great job. read more

Highly priced! ($20) Rip offs! I went to this barber shop for the first time and it look like a slow day for them. I got a nice hair cut pretty basic (skin fade). When I went to pay I was going to pay and I asked how much. He told me it's going to be $20 without any tip. That was the most expensive hair cut there. My friend and I sat there for 2 hours for her to get her haircut. Granted it was full when we first got there, BUT if they didn't talk and play around so much they would get a lot more done. Very loud and obnoxious environment. Needs a better manager to make it a professional environment. Can't say more professional because it isn't professional at all. I gave Blades a try and I wasn't disappointed. Is It like sportclips or some other franchise? No, but thats exactly why I went there. I watched some T.V. and listened to the barbers talk randomly about whatever was on their mind's at the moment. Q faded my high top properly taking his time and I went out with a fresh cut. Dudes can fade. Only one complaint... I've been in twice and had to walk out because disrespectful parents letting their kids run around, screaming and knocking things over. At that point, the staff or owner needs to step in and handle the situation. I'm going to give the shop another go because they fade so well. read more

Tyrone cut my hair this week and there was a small confusion about the Yelp promo I purchased. After everything was sorted out the haircut experience was great for the time and promo deal. I will revisit this last location as it has free wifi and ample parking. It's also in an easy to find location with plenty of parking space. Interesting that I was the first person to take advantage of the promo offered according to the patrons in there. read more

I just had the worst experience in my my life at this shop..me and my husband and 1 year old son sat and waited an hour for their hair to be cut..it only was two barbers there so we had no preference but when the other barber was free we ask if he could do my son first hair cut and he said " I'm about to cut out" after watching us wait ..I think it was fucking rude and terrible customer service then we still waited and eventually my son had an accident and we had to leave that's an hour of my life that I can't get back..I told my husband don't support that shop and my son will never go here again. read more

Got seen within 5 minutes of being there. A real laid back type of atmosphere and made me feel welcome there. Dwayne is the barber who cut my hair and did an excellent job. Took his time and showed a lot of attention and detail to my haircut. One of the best I've ever gotten. I'd recommend this barber shop to anybody. If I had to complain about something it would be that they were a little short staffed at the time I was there.
