I have to start this review off sharing how grateful I am to the Lord. He lead me as always to…read morewhere He knows is best for me. At this time the journey was for Skill Care after having a Hip Replacement Surgery. I was admitted to the Alverno scare, confused and in alot of pain. I have to keep this review honest. I only thing I had to hold on was hope and faith. But it was wavering because of the uncertainty. My journey once I settled in the Alverno was a true blessing from day one. But I had an issue with one of the Physical Therapist regarding coming at 5:30a for Therapy. I was was in bad way pain in all. 5:30 wasn't working for me under no circumstances. We butted head where I thought my stay was going to be short termed. But the Manager of the Department started to work with me regarding the time and doing my Therapy with such an understanding and compassion attitude. After about the third day with of feeling down I began to pick myself up mentally. And it was because of the Nurses they were PHENOMENAL. They were all caring, professional and had an heart for their patients. And mentally this is what I needed. Each day after I would encourage myself to get with that Physical Therapy. Because I know even though I didn't want to they were encouraging me for my own good. When I sit and think about this stay at the Alverno all I can think of is the staff that I grew to love. From the Administration office, Nurses, CNA to Transportation Drivers. The Transportation Driver was my first impression of the Alverno when he transported me from Mercy Hospital. This Young Man was so caring, loving with a heart for people. He brought sunshine on an dark painful day. All I can say is from the beginning to the end of my journey at the ALVERNO was such an extraordinary experience. When I rang the bell it was so heartfelt because I knew I ready for the next phase of my recovery. The Alverno sent me home with everything that I needed. All the services that needed. All I can say is Alverno I am where I am today because of all that I crossed paths with. Talking About Professionals.THEY ARE AT THE ALVERNO WITH PLENTY OF SMILES AND LOVE. Remember my journey was a challenge and they brought me through, mentally and physically. Lord I just want to say THANK YOU. Sincerely Antoinette McWilliams aka Toni )!!)%apppL

To say I arrived at the Alverno ReHab with a bad attitude would be sugar coating it, but I…read morereluctantly agreed to participate in a bad situation as best I could. After several days even a hard head like me began to realize it was working & I was getting better. I realized that they were not only dedicated professionals, but very nice people. I thank the people in ReHab for all the things that they did for me. I would be remiss if I didn't mention my other impressions of Alverno. The food was delicious altho to my mind excessive in quantity. All the people, and I mean ALL the people, were not only friendly & courteous, but if you ask them to do something, they would do it with a smile and a cheerful word. I hope I never go through anything like that again, but if I do, The Alverno will be at the top of the list of locations I want to go to. Paul L Dague

During these times of Covid employers should take extra caution towards their facility. But this facility does not. There's been times where I was sick and had gotten a Covid test and my employer was upset because I couldn't make it into work. That's happened twice. Recently I wasn't feeling the greatest and was puking and just had a sore throat and I mentioned that I couldn't make it into work that day. Marcie, the owner, then technically threatened me saying that if I didn't show up to work, I would be terminated. She knew I didn't feel well. I told her that I would provide a doctors note for her, but in her eyes that didn't matter and continued to tell me that I would be terminated. She tries to say it's because she can't depend on me because of my absences. But half of my absences were from doctors notes during the times I have gotten the Covid test. The other times, I usually found a replacement or traded shifts. There we're probably 5 times in the 5-6 months I've been there where they actually had to beg someone to work for me or they'd work themselves. Considering that they have this facility with older residents who can get sick easily, they should take extreme cautions of when their employees are sick. They shouldn't be forced to come into work. I've heard from my other coworkers as well that they were told to come in when they were sick. I've worked with a girl who was sick all week and technically that would be putting the residents in danger but they don't care. The fact that i was told that even if I missed work with a doctors note excusing me from that day, that I would be terminated, made me realize just how toxic of a place this is. So I quit. But also, some caregivers working there definitely shouldn't have a job. I see residents not getting what they asked for and I also see residents who get ignored. I go to a nurse who isn't busy and just sitting down and tell them that this resident wants to be taken back to their room and I get told that they'll have to wait, which is like another 15-20 minutes. I've seen another resident scream "help me, help me", and that same exact nurse told him that he'd have to wait as she continued talking to another employee...This place is not it! Oh, and let's not forget that the owners talk crap about their own employees and have said some rude things about the residents.
