The battery would not hold a charge and I couldn't access my contacts. I brought it in to the Apple Store at Porta di Roma Mall in some desperation. After trying a couple of different methods to re-boot and re-charge the phone they checked my serial number and found out that the phone had a defective battery. While I went to lunch they replaced the battery and gave me back my phone with all my contact information. Marco and Silvia the Manager couldn't have been more helpful or professional. Great experience! I was very grateful for the timely, polite service.

Had the appointment...and the genius bar dude was "this is a problem". Total disgust and dismay in his face certainly & not a welcoming demeanor. He can't do anything. WTF! It takes us almost an hour to get there and he wants to go to the "other" store. Talk about passing the buck to someone else! I spoke to the manager and he couldn't seem to get his head around this, which he didn't see a problem to go to the other store either. I had to huff and puff to get want I wanted, which I hate to do but this isn't rocket science! To be honest, the phone was working fine...but didn't hold the full charge but technically is in good working order. In the end, they "found" the battery but it's just plain laziness. You either have it or you don't! Sheesh. Don't suffer...go to the EUR store.

While most research…read moreof where to stay, eat, what to do has been done by me, the bf had the most important assignment of all: figuring out how I can check in on Yelp while in Italy. Molto importante, a mio parere! ;-) We were ready with an unlocked iphone, printed out a table comparing the different phone companies and their rates (wind, vodafone, tim, tre, etc) He decided that wind would be our best option, the price is €9 for 1 GB good for a month plus card costs with a €10 min top up. You'll save hundreds of dollars this way (use that money for the Italian leather shoes you want!) just bring your passport and in some cases, you'll need a "codice fiscale" which we had on hand, but didn't need. It's better to be prepared and you can generate one over here: http://italychronicles.com/how-to-create-a-codice-fiscale/ We came right when the store opened at 10am and there was only one guy manning the place. He wasn't the most friendliest, but we were out of there in 10 mins. Located in Galleria Esedra near the Piazza Della Repubblica. Metro stop is Repubblica.
