We popped into Urban Alpine to get fitted for skis. Last year we rented everything, so although we…read moreknew what size boots we needed, none of us really knew exactly what we wanted to buy. The bloke at Urban Alpine was soooo helpful! He spent quite a long time measuring and fitting boots for me, my husband and our friend. He wasn't pushy at all, and showed me a few different options. He also took into account our each of our skiing styles to recommend the best possible styles for each of us. In the end I bought some ski boots (I love them!) and he told me to come back after using them a few times to see if they can further improve the fitting. My friend found a really good pair that were more than 50% off, so he was happy too. My husband wasn't able to find any boots that fit him perfectly, but after the advice we received here, we have a better idea about what to look for.

I live two hours away from Urban Alpine, yet it is still my go to, and favourite ski shop. I have…read morebeen there multiple times in the last 3 years and bought ski boots, poles, skis, a jacket and a few small accessories. What brings me back? Well first off it's the prices and range of products. These products are largely focused on park skiers and boarders, but even if that isn't you, you can still find something. Prices are usually pretty good, especially in the off season. I have been to the turkey sale in Whistler at Thanksgiving 3 times now looking for fairly important purchases (first boots, then a jacket, then skis) and all three times I've ended up going back to Urban Alpine because of better prices and availability. The service is the best I have ever experienced in a ski shop, possibly the best I've ever experienced in any store. They always are quick to help you, and have knowledgeable and honest staff to answer every question. This is particularly nice, because the Whistler Blackcomb outlet store that is basically in the same strip mall, rarely has anybody that knows what they're talking about when it comes to skis. I have also asked on two separate occasions of they have a specific item, and when they didn't, they offered to order the item for me for no extra charge! I am always amazed by this store, and will always do my best to go there when I am in need of something ski related, even though it is very far away from me. I hope others do the same!

REVISED: After the original review below Corsa called me…read moredirectly and offered to make things right without question. They refunded me the cost of the bike rental and I assured them I would be a return customer. Awesome response from Corse ------------- ORIGINAL POST Have been here twice in the last few months and both time the staff were friendly and helpful. This time we rented two bikes with my Girlfriend and when my back was on stand getting the pedals put on I noticed the chain was caked in dirt. I didn't say anything assuming they knew what they were doing. When the bike came off I checked the brakes and they felt pretty worn to me with late engagement. I asked the guy who had it on stand and he said they were good to go. We then drove over to half Nelson and the second I rode the bike I noticed that the top click on the shifter would bring the chain off the top chain ring forcing me to get off and fix it. I then had to be careful not to shift past top chain ring but it turned out top chain ring actually skipped under load so I had to go one down from that. When I got back to shop I told them bike needed major tune up to which the same person that had it on stand said well you had fun right? Which I said yes I did and then he sent us on our merry way. I would've expected an apology and a discount given bike was clearly not serviced or even checked before we rented it.

I'd give this place a zero, but I have to settle for 1 star. I am visiting Squamish for 10 days and…read moredecided to pick up a bike on Marketplace. The next morning I found the back tire flat, so I walked it over to Corsa Cycles given their proximity to where I was staying. So, with bike in tow, I was directed to the back where the service stations were. There was already 2 people in line before me with nobody remotely close to the area. As we were waiting for anybody to show - another few people got in the queue for service and still no Corsa employees in the area. After about 10 minutes, somebody wandered up to the register asking if he could help the people in front of me. We found out quickly he could not since he'd been there only two days. While he was talking to the people in front of me, I noticed a person standing in the doorway talking to somebody I could not see. Said person looked over several times and could see a queue of 5 people waiting, but did nothing. Finally, the new guy went back to the doorway for help, and amazingly, 3 other people emerged from behind the doorway. Some guy, whom I'll assume was the highest ranking person of the 4 employees, blew off the first couple saying he'd have to order the part and didn't want to because they were in the process of moving. I stepped up with my bike and asked if they could quickly put in a new tube, to which he replied no, they were too busy and they had to prepare for the move next week. It was apparent to me that this individual didn't want to lift a finger to help anybody at this point in time because of the big 'move' activity they were all engaged in. I laughed a bit given there was NOBODY working on anything and 4 people standing in a doorway for at least 10 minutes. Worst case, it would have taken somebody 10 minutes to install a new tube. All that aside, what really pissed me off is what occurred next. I told him I was just visiting for 10 days and didn't know the local businesses yet, so I asked him where I could actually get my tire fixed. He knew exactly what type of bike I had and what kind of tire tube I was looking for - and knowing all that, this guy gives me the Bluebird Coffee Tuning and Rentals place. This place, as I would find out when I walked into the door, sold/rented/serviced nothing but RAD electric bikes. So, this Corsa employee, knowing I was new to Squamish, knew the Bluebird shop could not help me, sent me there anyway. There are some adjectives I'd like to use in this review, but it would distract from the point of horrid customer service and abject arrogance of this person.

He called several different bike shops he knew could help and hooked me up with a shop that fixed it for me. Brian was incredibly helpful and did not have to lift a finger to help me, but he went way beyond to make sure I was able to get a new tube and ride off into the sunset. I stopped by today to again say thanks and grab a cup of coffee - and I must say, it was the best cup of coffee I've had in Squamish! I highly recommend you drop by either to pick up a RAD bike or just get a cup off great coffee. Again, Brian, thank you for getting me and my flat fixed up! Doug

DANGEROUS! Aggressive staff & fraudulent pricing. Stay away!…read more1 Star. I have NEVER been so threatened in a business. I caught them overcharging me ($50 for boots vs $40 for the full kit on their website). When I confronted the manager about lying to my face twice, a staff member charged at me, swearing and acting extremely aggressive ("Watch the fk who are you talking to"). The manager then tried to blackmail me, saying they wouldn't refund my money if I kept calling out their lies. I have the entire interaction ON VIDEO. This place is not just a scam; it is unsafe. If you value your safety and your wallet, DO NOT GO HERE.
