I just joined Climb Cleveland a week and a half ago and I already love it. The membership amenities are plentiful and the staff are incredibly welcoming. I'm a very very new climber and had never bouldered in my life but the walls have different paths based on difficulty (color coded) and it's perfect for someone like me who's looking to improve. The members cover vast skill levels and I never feel like an outcast, unwelcome, or left out based on my relatively low skill level/climbing IQ. As a tip to anyone looking into this gym, it's only open to members right now due to COVID.

This is a cute little bouldering gym in the heart of Tremont. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming which was cool. They started asking us (two not so great boulderers) our opinion on their upcoming merch so it was neat since we were basically total strangers and they wanted our opinion. I like that the routes are color coordinated by grade / difficulty- makes it very easy to scout one out from afar. They have a traversing wall in the basement which is a nice feature because I've never actually traversed anything since usually there are people over your head or trying to climb that route. I definitely struggled on the yellow (aka "easiest") routes so I could see me having lots of room to grow here. I'm not sure how this would change if I was a more experienced climber so if that's you take my review with a grain of salt! They do offer an intro class that we took if you've never bouldered but it's not necessary per se. They also offer yoga and apparently added blues dancing so it seems like they like to liven up their offerings. They also had a members only rooftop potluck which seems like it would be awesome (insert fomo jealousy). Downsides are it's small and I wish they offered a punch pass option. If you're from a larger city with more options and larger gyms this likely wouldn't be a 5-star place to you, but for being the only bouldering gym in Cleveland proper it is very nice and I think they make up for it with personality and trying to add fresh extra non-climbing things. My schedule is too prohibitive to make a membership worth while but I would definitely come more often if they had a punch pass .... that would maybe allow me come to the rooftop potluck (please please pleaaaaaaaase!?!)

Even though I initially felt awkward and out of place trying such intimate dance styles with a stranger, he was the definition of a personable professional and made me feel incredibly at ease! He was encouraging yet not over the top with praise (genuine) and the whole time was also giving me the history and background of both dances! Nika at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful too- ranging from helping me with a new mask to scheduling my next classes. Finally, every month or so they have a weekday casual social salsa dance. Pay 10 bucks, BYOB if you'd like, and dance the night away! It was at this dance- keep in mind I have had exactly one half hour salsa lesson in my life- where I had the great fortune of meeting the incredibly down to earth owner of Viva, Parker, and a friend, Miguel. Even though I warned them about my inability, BOTH gentlemen took time from the party to dance with me and made me feel like a first rate rock star! I was giggling the whole time and just had such a blast with this group of learner-friendly talented individuals. You must try this place out as they have multiple styles and levels of dance class both group and private. You won't regret meeting these passionate folks!

Everyone was so amazingly nice and open, and they are truly a credit to their craft. It takes a certain talent to teach a group of people how to dance, at all different levels and experience, and not make it intimidating. It was all about having fun and actually enjoying dance. During the social I was observing the room and saw how dance has brought together people of all different ages and backgrounds to just enjoy music, dance, and each other. Viva is truly a special place. They teach, encourage (and push you when you need it), all the time making it fun and and exciting. Thank you so much to Rebecca, Eddie, Parker, Nika and Roger for everything!

Lizabeth, the manager, got back to us with a quote within a few days via email and got us on the schedule quickly. Kristen was our instructor and she was awesome! She was super nice and personable and definitely made it easy for us as beginners with no rhythm. Lol We pretty much told her that neither of us dance and we wanted to learn some basics so we don't look like complete idiots on our wedding day! We started our first lesson with hand and arm positions and the basic box steps (5, 6, 7, 8...*quick, quick, slow*) and we built upon that with side steps, turning, "the cuddle" move and some other moves in the following 3 sessions. She watched each of us closely and told us what we were doing wrong or right and took turns with each of us til we got the feel for it. Each session was roughly 45 minutes long and she wrote down notes of what we covered after each session so that we all knew where we left off during the next visit. During our last session, Kristen had us try all of the moves we learned to go along with the beat of the music and it was tough! We sure had a lot of fun though! Thank you, Kristen! On our wedding day, we dance pretty well and noone fell, so that's a win in my book! If you're interested in learning how to dance or if you're a seasoned dancer and want to enter some competitions, give Kristen a call! She's your girl!
