I used to have a crush on Natalie Portman, but it would never work out because she's a vegetarian and I sleep wrapped in bacon. Plus she's also now married, which doesn't help. Not to mention I'm a sad, broke, ugly fellow who'se only intrest is watching Coronation Street. Reruns.
But let's say, for fun, that she was keen on me.
I'd take her to Clifton Greens.
Why?
Because all the food here is stunningly beautiful and everything sold is from the earth. I don't recall anything animal, or anything processed. No breads. No cheese. Certainly no bacon pajamas. Just basket after basket of stunning fruits, veggies, roots, berries and legumes. Here we are in November, when most green grocers only have root veggies and cabbage, yet this place boasts vibrant peppers, heirloom tomatos, exotic fruits, even Asian citrus.
I love to cook and this is now my "go to" place for hard-to-find greens. In fact, Natalie Portman will be sorry she ever went for a different fellow and shacked up in the States. We - the non worthy - now have "Clifton Greens" all to ourselves.
