Oddly, the biscuits and gravy didn't work for me - somehow they were on the sweet side. That should have been a slam dunk, but not so much. Not a fan of the apricot sauced sausage patties either. Sounded better than it tasted. But, for the price, I got a lot of good food. It was more than enough to fill me. I do think you need to be selective here. The space is HUGE. You do need to remember that this is a catering venue and I think it would be delightful for a large party. The mid-room floor to ceiling stone fireplace is spectacular and I can see wedding photos staged in front of it. Also, given that it is a catering hall, be prepared for plastic tables that can be rearranged easily. Servers were VERY friendly and efficient. Not a bad Bloody Mary, either. So, I'd say not to expect elegance, but good value.

You don't need to pack anything beyond clothes and food/beverages, but if you forget anything, the store can help you out. The lake is well stocked with Rainbow Trout, but after a weak winter, the lakes are low and the shoreline is dusty and muddy. Don't let your kiddos try to enter the lake or they may find themselves stuck in mud. There are not any trails on site, so you have to drive to hike. Maybe the owner will clear some eventually. We had a pretty great time until: 1. The gigantic mosquitos and flies arrived. It would be nice if the porch was screened so you could sit and enjoy the view without clouds of bugs encircling you. 2. No AC, which is fine, but a ceiling fan upstairs would be helpful to lower the temp. 3. No window covering upstairs (on door), so kids struggled sleeping in a bit, and they didn't have privacy when changing clothes at night. 4. We were awakened around 1 AM on during our last night by a side-by-side driving around. Considering the time, we thought there might be a bear or some trouble, so we woke up and walked out to find the owner of the camp naked on his side-by-side talking to the "campers" next to us. Why is someone riding around naked when customers are on site? We considered reporting to police and forestry service because it was alarming and indecent. All in all, this "resort" would a great venue for celebrations because of the lodge, amenities, and location. However, with our kids, we won't return after the midnight nudity ride. It made us all uncomfortable and we packed and left before check out the next morning.
