I've always been fascinated with public speaking, but darn scared of people... and speaking... which creates a difficult situation. I finally pushed myself to attend a Toastmasters meeting. And it was pretty cool. And then I went out and tried some other clubs. And... they were pretty cool too. And in April 2014 I went out to Career Builders Toastmasters. And it BLEW MY MIND. --- 3 things: Timely. Positive. Diverse. What stands out to me about Career Builders is its respect for time. I've been to many groups who don't take time into consideration - don't start on time, end on time, etc. I think timeliness shows a lot about a club's professionalism and the kind of environment they create for their members. Though it is a timely group, Career Builders does not suffer from any rigidity and remains energetic, positive and relationship-oriented. Many guests are impressed by the attitude of the members there. Everyone wants to be there?! The energy that is present at every meeting is really not something you see often anywhere else. As an ethic-minority, I am also sensitive to a group's diversity. I've seen that Career Builders creates a safe place for people of all kinds to practice their skills, gain confidence, and receive warm support. --- I've attended meetings and been a member of other Toastmasters clubs, and I can say with certainty that Career Builders performs among the top 5% in San Diego. I love this group. I love love love this group. Most weeks, I still feel like Career Builders is too good to be true. And in the end, you have to see it to believe it.

In our 2 years there, we watched our son grow immensely in his confidence, relationships, and overall love of learning. He was sad to leave school every day and excited to wake up and start the day with his amazing friends and teachers. The approach and philosophy that Fleur de Lis takes truly allows each child to blossom in their own unique and beautiful way and we not only got to experience this with our son, but saw it with his classmates as well. We saw our son make presentations to his class about a science or art project he did with us at home or proudly present his show and tell Spider-man toy to his classmates - we are so grateful to the entire Fleur de Lis community for encouraging this level of self-esteem and individuality.  The staff at Fleur de Lis is truly one of a kind -  the professional, yet individualized attention of Tina Smith and April Kozelh as directors is amazing. They know your child personally and do everything in their power to make your child's experience at Fleur de Lis enriching and creative. Our son still talks about Ms. Tina coming into their classroom and reading them special books (his favorite was about an owl in NYC) and Tina consistently shared specific memories of our son's social and emotional growth during his time there. The teachers we had at Fleur de Lis (Ms. Sandy, Ms. Chelsea, Ms. Amber, Ms. Kiara and Ms. Diana for Spanish) were incredible in every way - we appreciated the attention to the holistic needs of each child - the cognitive, physical, and emotional were all given attention and we saw our son blossom in each area. The day our son "graduated" Fleur de Lis School was a bittersweet one - we were thrilled to know he was ready for kindergarten, but also so sad to say goodbye to the daily moments of this special community. Our son couldn't stop hugging his amazing teacher Ms. Sandy at the singing show - clearly showing the same emotions we felt as parents.

I remember my son, Julian, sobbing when I left him on his first day as a two year old, and my heart was breaking. In less than a week, he was all smiles at drop off, excited to see his teachers and friends. Since then, he's thrived at this school, both emotionally and educationally. Now, two years later, he's heading to Francis Parker, and looking back on his time at FDL, I can't express how grateful I am to the amazing team there. There are a few specifics that make FDL special: The community -- everyone at FDL knows Julian's name, even teachers who aren't assigned to his class. Pre-Covid, when I would pick him up from his classroom, his daily departure was like a little parade, with waves and goodbyes to friends, teachers, directors, everyone. You really feel like part of a family here. Kira, Bev, April, Julie, Julia, Diana, Iris, Nina, Autumn, and many others...each has been a unique and positive impact on Julian and our family over the past two years. The safety -- speaking of Covid, I don't think I appreciated how nice it is to have total confidence in the efforts of the FDL team to keep my child safe at all costs until this pandemic. When they reopened under new safety guidelines, I never once worried they would slack or not keep the sanitation and safety bar high. In fact, Julian now inspects my hand washing and admonishes me if I have not made enough soap bubbles or washed long enough . They always ran a tight ship, but it's exceptional now. The positive reinforcement of high expectations -- on my visit prior to enrolling at FDL, I saw all the kids eating lunch as they chattered politely and consistently used manners. On the playground, no one pushed. They all took turns. What's more, they were still incredibly joyous little kids, giggling and delighting in silly play. I was in awe. And yet, now Julian models those same behaviors. FDL teachers are kind and warm, but firm. They set a high bar, and the kids rise to meet it. At the same time, there is tremendous fun had on the daily at this school. Julian greets me at pick up with a big smile and a hug, his cheeks flushed from play and sand in his shoes. He excitedly shows me his projects and tells me funny stories and things he learned from the day. FDL is exceptional. If you have the chance to send your child there, take it. You would be hard pressed to find a more loving and capable setting. We will miss it terribly!

He has faced many challenges throughout his life, including a speech delay and significant struggles with anxiety, and not feeling understood, especially related to PDA. We've worked with other therapists before, but none of them truly felt like the right fit--until he found Jenny. From the start, she has been patient, understanding, and incredibly skilled at working with Fox in a way that makes him feel safe, heard, and empowered. He says she is the best therapist he has ever had, and I have to agree. Since working with her, he has not only made tremendous progress but also feels happier and more hopeful about his future. He tells me all the time how much she has helped him and how grateful he is for her. As a parent, seeing my child finally find someone who truly understands and supports him is invaluable. Jenny has changed his life, and we are so lucky to have found her. If you are looking for a therapist who genuinely cares and makes a real difference, I cannot recommend her highly enough.

In case I cannot attach a photo, it reads "I do not think it is acceptable to get drunk at events. I do not think it's professional to cancel last minute. I do not think it's acceptable to bill sessions that have not been done. I do not think it's acceptable to invite a client to an outside event. I do not feel like it's acceptable to not share these things with your supervisor. I do not have a way to rectify any of this with your family."

Before I dive into why you should not give Parliament Tutors your time or money, let me tell you…read morehow to find affordable and quality tutoring in your area. 1. If you are a college student, it is almost certain that you can find free tutoring through student help organizations, your professor, or TAs. 2. If you are in K-12, you may have luck with a similar approach in asking faculty for recommendations. 3. If you are unable to find free tutoring through your school, this is where you begin offering these same specialists $20-$30 an hour to help you or your child. This is exactly what Parliament will do anyway, except they will pay the tutor about as much, and charge you $60-$80 an hour. As a tip, don't be discouraged if the first tutor you meet is not great, I recommend that you keep trying. If this is no longer feasible and you feel to go through a tutoring agency, here is why you MUST avoid Parliament Tutors: I had the extreme displeasure of working as the "Chief Academic Advisor" (basically just tutoring sales/quality control agent) directly next to David Greenberg (Founder & CEO) in his headquarters every day for six months. Parliament Tutors embodies the greedy and thoughtless philosophy by which David Greenberg lives by. Over and over again, David Greenberg has demonstrated and verbally expressed with utmost vulgarity that he does not care about his tutors, his students, or the individuals he contracts, unless he can directly benefit from them. I believe this to be immoral when your business model is defined by exploiting the vulnerability of others for your own profit and gain. Here are some examples: During my tenure, we had a mother whose child received a special needs-based scholarship, allowing for her to utilize Parliament's services. Finding a match was challenging, and after weeks of hard work on everybody's end, and hours of speaking to her on the phone, we were able to give them exactly what they needed. The mother was happy because her child could now have specialized care that was needed. I was happy because the mother and child I spent hours of my time speaking with was finally going to get the help they needed. And David Greenberg was happy because "yeah that is a $XX,XXX contract right there." Of course, David Greenberg has every right to only care about only his money and be completely emotionally detached from the wellbeing of his clients. In another case, I had my personal best sales day equaling what I made for myself in 4 months. When I eagerly presented this fact to David Greenberg, the dialogue was as follows, beginning with David Greenberg: "What about (NAME), doesn't she owe me?" (Mind you, he has numerous clients that he never keeps up with, and often will have to erase thousands of dollars of debt because of his negligence) "Oh, she was in a tragic accident and has been in recovery for a bit, but.." "I DON'T GIVE A F***, SHE OWES ME LIKE TWO GRAND!" "...but her husband said he was mailing a check." "Well I haven't received it!" "Okay, sorry, I will follow up" Of course, David Greenberg has every right to care only about his money and be COMPLETELY emotionally detached from the wellbeing of his clients. And finally: the interaction that most strongly reflected on his lack of empathy and emotional intelligence. I was working with university professors to carry out a study regarding the prevalence of Female Genital Mutilation in the United States, a very sensitive yet urgent global human rights, public health, and gender issue. On numerous occasions, David Greenberg made inappropriate and distasteful jokes regarding Female Genital Mutilation as if it were a funny practice rather than a crime against humanity. I am willing put at stake all of the honor in my name, Moisés Zamora, as well as everything I have ever stood for, to tell you that Parliament Tutors is an immoral firm, and that you deserve to work with somebody that actually cares about you and doesn't just want to exploit your vulnerabilities for their own gain. I wish you, the reader, utmost luck in your pursuit of knowledge and wellbeing, and hope that by now you won't even consider Parliament Tutors. Sincerely yours, Moisés Zamora
