There are an equal amount of toys for boys and girls the right hand side of the shop seems to be mainly girls toys whereas the left hand side seems to be boys toys and models. The shop is a bit to small but it seems to be very popular and do well considering it is located up a side alley by the library rather than being in the main shopping street. The shop is very reasonable priced and has special offers and promotions scattered through the shop. The shop boasts a massive window display which covers the whole of the front and side of the shop. The till area is rather clutter which is a bit annoying when you come to pay and there is no where to put your items down.

There is usually only one person serving (quite normal in small boutiques and clothes shops) and it must be very difficult for them to get a break. In fact, when I visited the shop today, the woman there was only just going off to have a bit of lunch at 3.30, but she very kindly re-opened for me and two other shoppers. I left her still waiting for them to look around .....do hope she didn't have to wait too long for that very late lunch. I definitely give her 5 stars!

On entering the shop I saw just what I was looking for in another 8 different colours. As soon as I opened my mouth to ask the shop assistant for advice she looked down her nose at me as if she couldn't be bothered ( maybe my Welsh accent had something to do with it). She quickly told me to pick any colour, all one size but I could try one to make sure then abruptly turned her back on me and walked away. I called after her to say I would come back later that day, asking what time the shop closed, she said 4.45 which I thought was a little early for a Friday afternoon. I drove home approx 20 mins drive then returned to Wells just before 3 pm with my dress. The shop was closed with a sign on the door saying gone for lunch (odd time to be closed for lunch), although looking through the window I could see someone moving around inside the shop. I waited for 10 mind and eventually that same miserable looking woman appeared, came outside and proceeded to lock the shop door. I said "hi, do you remember me from this morning, I've brought the dress with me ". She rudely said she had to go out and would be back at 4.45. I said, I've driven all the way from wedmore and back for this. She then proceeded to glare at me, mumbled something under her breath about me being quick then turned to unlock the door. By this time I had had enough of her rudeness, told her not to bother and stormed off !! It was a shame as I'm sure I would have bought one of the garments and possibly a few more in different colours. Now I will never go in that shop again and have told my friends not to as well. I called in a nearby clothes shop, still quite upset and the assistant couldn't have been nicer, I purchased 2 items and went home happy.

Food quality excellent and plenty of wines to choose from, as with soft drinks (for me). They pack a lot in to a medium sized store and the Pharmacy is just brilliant. Always get my prescriptions there; great staff again and excellent service. I am a local and over the years have various queries, requests etc and have always been helped, advised correctly and staff have gone that extra mile. So yes, I recommend and am very pleased to do so.

We always pop in here when we're in town and I always find some excellent bargains. The book range changes all the time and usually they only have 1 or 2 of each book, so its hit and miss but there is often plenty of works by well known authors if you are looking for fiction and an interesting range of information books too. Their kids books are very good and they have a good range of board books for very young children. They often have special offers for example buy 2 books for £5 etc. The staff are very friendly and the shop is rarely crowded.

The manager here is especially fond of specimens, so she has made sure that a few choice, unusual pieces have made their way here. There is a special display of these in a type-setter's tray. These are not the classic beauties that are found elsewhere in the same shop, but very interesting specials. It's a good place to come to expand your collection, if that is your thing. They are very sweet people in this shop. You will find that they will be as helpful as helpful can be.

The shops is a bit of a maze to navigate your way around there are several different area and it is based over 3 storeys. This shop is the most amazing shop for people who have moved into there first property and need to kit it out quickly. They also buy items off the public so It could be a good place to get rid of an unwanted fridge, cooker, bed etc! The shop does sell some items at unbelievable low prices and they do offer delivery for a price.

I was after something very special for my daughters first christmas. I wanted a nice item for a child which would increase in value and make a nice keepsake. I entered the shop after a freind had told me about collectable bears. I explained to the lady that i wanted a special teddy bear to give to my baby then put up till she was older. She popped off saying she had just the ting and came back with a catolgue of stieff bears She looked through the catalogue with me and then brought down some examples for me to look at. The shopkeeper devoted a lot of time to me and made me feel like a valued customer. I was in the shop over an hour as I looked through the brochures and catalogue the shop keeper remaind avalible to answer all my questions. (She also got me a chair to sit on and a nice cup of tea) I finally found the perfect bear a limited addition stieff bear from the year of my childs birth. It was perfect (£120) the bear was one of the more collectable bears the shop keeper explained that the yellow tag and button ment it would be a very collectable bear and would be rare and worth more money as years passed. I really appeciated the time and effort put in by the shop keeper I felt no pressure to buy even after spending over an hour in the shop. I placed and order for the bear and she took my phone number to contact me when it arrived she said it would proabably be 2 weeks and gave me a date. She phoned me on that date to say the bear was ready. When i arrived to collect the bear the same helpful shop keeper got my bear which was boxed up and ready to go. she was very helpful again took the bear out for me to check etc. I would highly recommend Gorge bear co the staff are amazing the shop is small but they are willing to search and order items if needed.
