However, it's not all that cheap here, as is the case with a lot of the Bath stores, I guess, but the quality is unquestionable. The staff are always on hand to show you where things are, but are pretty clueless about actually recommending anything. It's a good place to browse if you need some extra furnishing for a new place, but don't expect to be overwhelmed with desire.

Everything is very thrown together in here, and I suspect that underneath that first layer of shelves, cupboards and tables, there are more shelves, cupboards and tables.. and maybe a lamp or five. It's an alright shop if you've got a really low budget for furniture in your house (students, take note!), and maybe you won't get the best design or quality, but I suppose they are functional and good for a temporary solution. It's a bit of a jumble sale in here so be prepared to be rubbing shoulders with other customers, but if you don't mind this then its definitely worth a visit for all your furniture needs. The reason why I have dropped a couple of stars is that even in the snow and heavy rain, they still leave out their mattresses which makes me a little concerned of the quality I would be receiving if I bought anything here.

Not sure if it part of a chain, but if feels like a family business with personal service. Some of the prices are really good and the seem to sell quality furniture. In particular their oak table and chair sets seem really excellent, not the cheap import you get in lots of places. This second hand shop on Gloucester Road is a maze of bargain furniture. The shop has got 3 rooms and a large back yard. In each you can find anything from tables, chairs, wardrobes, to odd metal brackets, mirrors, and general rare items that make each second hand shop unique and an experience to peruse. The man who runs it is averagely friendly - ask him what you're after and he'll take you to some corner of the shop where he might just have the exact thing you were looking for - that sure happened in our case. He'll only get a little bit grumpy when you start haggling the price, but it's worth a try. They also buy furniture - he'll give you a good price for it, but as above, it's always worth talking about the price to make it more appealing to which ever side you're coming from. A furniture shop that's well worth a browse.

The best bit of advice I was given was that you can haggle your socks off with them and get it for even cheaper! They openly promote you to hand in your unwanted furniture, which means I will most definitely be using when I have to move out of my student digs and back into my parents house! However, I've since noticed that the stuff that has since broken was either: a) put together by me, or b) broken by me when I fell over. Everything else is still fine five years later. It sits opposite Temple Meads and they sell complete sets of wooden bedroom furniture, beds, tables, mirrors and the like. They have friendly staff who will help you carry your goods to their handy off street car park around the back. Once you get it back, make sure you: a) apply the requisite amount of glue, and b) dry your feet when you get out of the shower. Do this and you can get a bargain!

Any fears will go when you talk to the lovely owners - a couple of guys who I'm guessing have worked their way up from a pokey little shop in out of town high streets to get this high-profile spot opposite the train station. They know their stuff, have a down to earth attitude and don't try and push sales onto you. I bought my bed frame from here, which they delivered promptly and carried up my stairs. I chose to put it together myself and the instructions were clear as a bell. It was really well made and has survived being taken apart and back again when we had to get it out of the way to put carpets in. They also sell mirrors, bedside tables and dining tables. They have a choice of woods ranging from pine to oak so you can find what will suit your budget. If you're stuck just ask as they know their stock inside out and what they have coming in soon as well.

Goodbye Ikea, hello vintage bed frame! I came here looking for a bedside table and while I didn't find what I was looking for on this occasion I would certainly come back to scout for more furniture the next time. The shop also runs a scheme where, for a small fee, when you buy a product from them they will come and remove your old bed/sofa/dinning table - handy for those who don't drive!

Aptly named, the shop sells good quality tables, chairs, wardrobes, chest of drawers and beds at a reasonable price. Rather than spending lots of money on something lifeless from Ikea, why not pay a decent price for something which has a little more life story to it, and in the excellent knowledge that your piece of furniture is already assembled, meaning you won't have to spend hours reading poorly translated instructions and turning what is meant to look like a sofa into a desk!

I have never bought anything from here. The owners don't mind...at least i don't think they do- they've never said anything to me! They have a lot of good items in this shop, such as mattresses, bed stands, desks, wardrobes, and chairs...did i mention the chairs? They have the best selection of chairs around! The chairs are probably the best value itesms in the store. Everything else seems quite expensive comapred to similar items at Tescos or Ikea. However, we need to support the independants so i definately would reccommend giving Clearance Centre a visit. The owners leave you free to browse, and the majority of items are second-hand meaning bargains all round! Brilliant!

Besides that, they have other bits and bobs of furniture inside the store. I'm not sure about the quality, but they do have plenty of choice, and with mattresses from £29 (for a single), how could you say no? A price of a top from Topshop could be the price of comfortable sleeping for well, for the duration that you keep the mattress!
