That's probably mostly because it's a pain in the ass to find a new family physician though... As a teenager, I had frequent bouts of strep throat, but never the kind that was detected by the rapid swab tests. Even though this became apparent rather quickly, I can't tell you the number of times I had to make numerous trips to Dr. Farber's office when my rapid tests would come back negative and he would tell me it wasn't strep, yet a few days later, the symptoms persisted. I will give their office props for one thing, though: Shortly after I graduated college and was unemployed with no health insurance, I broke my foot. Since I was an established patient at the office, they worked with me to charge me a minimal amount for my visit and they also worked out a deal with the imaging center where I had my x-ray. I was so grateful not to have to worry about being able to afford getting care for my foot and they took excellent care of me. So, while he might not be the sharpest crayon in the medical box, Dr. Farber is a great guy, and he does look out for his patients.

I believe it was over the office screwing up my meds and they did not want the doc to know so the just eliminated me instead of them taking the fall for it. Now I have to go thru the trouble of finding another doctor and having prescriptions rewritten allover again, as this office can mine. Will not advise anybody to use this office.

Sometimes the front office staff and or nurses are having bad days, but my Dr, Kay Johnson is always consistent with me. She listens and never has one foot out the door. On occasion I have been a little concerned with the lack of a thorough exam (such as listening to my heart) but overall i've received excellent care whether sick or routine visit. The building itself includes a lab, orthopedist and some other specialists so it is essentially a one stop shop. It is always clean and well organized. There is a large parking lot, but getting in and out can be a little tough on busy Montgomery Rd. Added bonus, they now have a nice online portal where you can communicate, have virtual visits, and view bloodwork or invoices.

Recently, I had an ailment that caused my eyes to swell, and decided it was time to call in the professionals. I took an appointment with Dr. Bibler when my regular doctor was unavailable. Dr. Bibler appeared with his med student, asked minimal questions, then diagnosed me with seasonal allergies. Not the case, as this was a contact ailment. The med student even mentioned that I had no other symptoms related to season allergies (coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, etc.) No swabs were taken. He didn't come close to take a look at my eyes. In fact, he didn't even touch me at all. Instead, he prescribed me $160.00 eye drops ($30.00 cost after insurance) and told me to come back in five days if I wasn't better. Great. A few days later, my eyes swelled completely shut and I had to go to Urgent Care. This doctor (who did take a culture swab) diagnosed me with an infection and prescribed two antibiotics. I told him about my medication from Dr. Bibler, in which I learned Dr. Bibler prescribed me eye drops for seasonal allergies. Had he actually taken a culture swab, he would have learned my condition was more serious. As such, I could have been recuperating with the proper prescription rather than taking a trip to Urgent Care. I feel like instead of remedying the problem, Dr. Bibler gave me a prescription just to have me return for another appointment, and of course, another doctor's bill. It's the business of medicine, and he knows how to play the game.

Instead, they charge a monthly fee that comes to under $800 annually. For that, you receive essentially unlimited primary medical care.
