Dr. Li is extraordinary, and we were thrilled with the care she provided. She listened to the…read morepatient history and asked detailed questions to elicit additional information and clarify events, as well as other aspects of the history that predated the immediate illness, and listened to genetic patient history information as well. She was willing to hear and incorporate in her diagnosis process the fact that lung infections are common with our child, and common on the father's side of the family, with a predisposition (over-susceptibility) to having upper respiratory tract infections become lower respiratory tract infections. Dr. Li did a very thorough examination of our child and expressed what she was finding in real time as she did so. She was trying to diagnose the issue in the lungs causing abnormally low O2 sats (about 4-5 points below normal, which is a lot for our child) and as she listened with a stethoscope she expressed a theory that there was a mucus plug - this is information I was happy to have, and asked about percussion to loosen any mucus. Dr. Li listened as I noted a further point of patient history was that our child had frequent chest colds when he was much younger and I had often used gentle percussion to loosen phlegm in his lungs years ago. The entire interaction was EXCELLENT and helpful to me. I like to ENCOURAGE the practice of doctors providing MORE information as opposed to assuming that a patient won't understand detailed or specific medical information. I oppose the Idea of providers trying to over-simplify, and STRONGLY OPPOSE failing to fully disclose everything the provider is finding, or the diagnostic theory forming the basis of provider's diagnosis, treatment, and expressed prognosis. Dr. Sarah Li is AMAZINGLY GOOD at making sure a patient (in this case his caregiver parents) are FULLY INFORMED - a bedrock requirement of meeting the goal of INFORMED CONSENT. We can argue as an academic matter over whether someone with no formal medical training could ever be fully "informed" but, if we did so, I would argue that the information still needs to be conveyed to the patient in as complete a manner as possible, simplifying only as necessary or requested (less Latin, surely) with the understanding that patients are also obligated to have some basic understanding of how their bodies work and how modern medicine is practiced. I believe too much information is not a problem. In the same vein, I appreciated the DIRECTNESS of Dr. Li when we discussed our prior treatment for Nigel's occasional colds with very low dose guaifenesin as an expectorant for unproductive coughs, and ultra low-dose dextromethorphan on rare occasions when he required a suppressant to sleep. Dr. Li was very clear as to why she preferred we did not use these, and then she explained why each of them was less effective than we perhaps presumed, even going into the history of DXM and why it probably worked better for my generation (Boomer) as a child - interesting bit of chemistry here which she succinctly and clearly explained how alcohol in cough syrup (back in the day) helped deliver the DXM once ingested. WOW! A doctor treating a parent as an ADULT who actually might understand simple concepts from high school chemistry instead of treating me as if I were the 5-year-old on the treatment table. THANK YOU, DR. LI !!!! At the end of the physical examination Dr. Li thoroughly discussed her theory on what this illness was, and her basis for that diagnosis, including what she and other pediatricians had been seeing this flu season. That process was interactive. She pronounced bronchopneumonia (just calling it "pneumonia" because she's not presumptuous, just brilliant) which scared us, as it should, but she was a calming influence. Throughout the time, Dr. Li was very interactive with our son and called him by name and treated him as an important person. During the exam she told him everything she was going to do before she did it and made him very comfortable. She was smiling and reassuring with him, and with us. At the end she gave him what every 5-year-old wants: two stickers. He very much liked Dr. Li and I think he even enjoyed his visit. Dr. Li is a top professional in every way, and conducts her exams in a way that made us feel as if our child was the most important person being treated that day. Her differential was logical and well explained. She was helpful in other matters such as how to best treat unproductive coughs during seasonal/occasional colds. OFF THE CHARTS SUPERB. I don't usually spend this much time writing about something but I wanted to cover a lot of the visit and how fantastic Dr. Li treated my child, and us as caregiving parents. Dr. Li gets a lot done very quickly but she EXPLAINS EVERYTHING, which is important to us. WE LOVE DR. SARAH LI and we want to say THANK YOU for such fantastic providing of care for our child. :-) :-) :-)

Everyone in this office are awesome and caring. My first time with DR Bennett (after seeing the…read moreother nurse practitioners that are amazing) she was very dismissing and thinks she can diagnose what the child has. I have worked with kids in autism as a behavior therapist and more. Speech delay is not autism! For her to tell me that my child for sure autistic was ridiculous. He is a normal child with no symptoms or behavior of a kid with autism. I rather have the nurse practitioners that are more realistic, caring and they listen to you and will go do above and beyond with information for you to understand and learn more about anything the child has. I love them ! But not the main DR.

As a father of four children with a deep background in health and wellness--including serving as…read morethe lead speaker at over 300 regenerative medicine seminars--I have always prioritized accurate, responsible, and child-focused medical care. My experience with Dr. Lorna Bennett at Bennett Pediatrics was not only deeply disappointing--it was professionally negligent, dismissive, and outright dangerous. I brought forth evidence-backed concerns regarding the illegal administration of prescription medication to two of my children by a non-medical adult. Both children experienced negative side effects, and were misdiagnosed by an after-hours clinic with conditions that lacked proper testing or symptom correlation. Dr. Bennett dismissed these concerns outright, defending other clinics' failures and refusing to critically assess the risk posed to my children. One of the most disturbing examples came when my young daughter was stuck by an uncapped needle while taking out the trash at her mother's home. Dr. Bennett's response? She compared it to needle sticks nurses receive, completely minimizing the uncontrolled, unsupervised nature of the incident and ignoring the traumatic context. This isn't care--it's dereliction of duty. In another case, my daughter tested Class 5 for cat allergies--a medically significant reaction that should have prompted immediate recommendations to remove allergen exposure from the home. Initially, Dr. Bennett stated the cats needed to go--but then, inexplicably, reversed her stance and pushed pharmaceutical treatment instead. This wasn't medical discretion--it was an intentional downplaying of an urgent environmental health risk. My daughter has a clearly documented history of severe allergic reactions to cats and dogs--confirmed by formal allergy testing showing a Class 5 reaction to cats and Class VI reaction to dogs, which indicates an extremely high risk of significant respiratory distress. She has no history of allergic reactions to any other environmental triggers. Prior to the introduction of cats into her mother's household, she was a vibrant, healthy child--able to run, play, and live life fully without the need for medical intervention. Since that exposure began, her health has taken a steep and devastating downturn. She now suffers from persistent respiratory symptoms, including coughing fits so severe she sounds like a 90-year-old chain smoker. She's been placed on daily steroids and albuterol, and is being pharmaceutically managed rather than medically protected. Let me be clear: this didn't come out of nowhere. It's not genetic, it's not mystery asthma. This is a direct result of long-term, repeated exposure to known allergens, despite documented evidence and professional acknowledgment that such exposure posed a serious risk. Instead of acting on this information to remove the trigger, Dr. Lorna Bennett and others chose the path of least resistance--excusing the presence of the cats, downplaying the severity, and pushing medication as a substitute for safety. This isn't care. It's institutional betrayal. During a recent visit, Dr. Bennett offered yet another disturbing deflection: she claimed my daughter's severe respiratory decline was likely due to her vaccine status, despite no clinical basis and no consistent pattern among her siblings. My two older daughters, with nearly identical vaccine schedules, have no history of asthma. My youngest--who is further behind in vaccinations than Tessa--hasn't developed symptoms. This wasn't a medically grounded explanation. It was a distraction--a sleek, baseless excuse to avoid addressing the real issue: prolonged exposure to a medically confirmed allergen. Dr. Bennett had no data, no evidence, and no accountability. Just a sales pitch. Parents don't bring their children to pediatricians to be sold misleading narratives. They come for care. For protection. For truth. And at Bennett Pediatrics, you will find none of that. During yet another visit, a ringworm lesion the size of a quarter was missed during a head-to-toe evaluation--even after two ER visits and an urgent care trip within six days. Instead of addressing these errors, Dr. Bennett focused the appointment on an unsolicited conversation about divorce, accompanied by religious commentary that had no place in a pediatric health visit. This clinic operates with a dismissive, "prescribe-and-dismiss" mindset, offering superficial evaluations, excusing errors made by other providers, and silencing informed parental input. I entered as a highly engaged, experienced parent--and was treated as though my concerns didn't matter. That's not medicine. That's malpractice. I urge every parent to avoid this practice. Dr. Lorna Bennett does not advocate for children--she pacifies dysfunction and enables harm. This is not an emotional rant. This is a public record of medical negligence. I have submitted a formal complaint to the Florida Board of Medicine.

DO NOT SEEK TREATMENT FROM THIS OFFICE. They are rude, disrespectful, lazy, and incompetent. On…read moremultiple occasions I have needed orders to get labs done and it has taken multiple days of hounding them over the phone to send the orders or they have neglected to send them altogether. On the first occasion it took me two days and over 10 phone calls to get someone from their office on the line. Even then when I requested that an order be made for a TB screening they sent a blank document over their patient portal, resulting in restarting the process of getting someone on the phone. Another similar incident just occurred today. I kindly asked that the office fill an order so that I may receive COVID testing and the same thing happened as last time: I called multiple times and still was not able to get the order placed. When I asked them to fax it to the Quest Diagnostics I had an appointment at, she said it was "done" BEFORE I was even done reading the fax number to her. Imagine my frustration when I show up to my appointment only to find out that they never sent the fax, the order they sent over the patient portal is inaccessible, and to top things off they close early on Fridays so they were unreachable. As a result of this office's negligence I will not be able to receive a COVID screening. These incidents are testament to just how little this practice cares for its patients. But it is not only the lousy front desk that leaves patients with a foul taste in their mouths; Dr. Teran is also completely out of touch with the needs of his patients. I came in to the office to receive treatment for a mild fungal infection, and after receiving a cold welcome from the ladies at the front desk I spoke with Teran about the problem, who then proceeded to address other things that I didn't come in.This led to him ordering a multitude of tests that I DIDN'T NEED, including an Allergy Panel (a very expensive test and one I had already completed before). This blase approach to ordering tests resulted in me unnecessarily spending more money and wasting my time. This office has consistently shown its lack of regard for its patients' time, money, and wellbeing. I have given this office MANY chances naively believing that"it was an off day" or that "next time they won't treat me like this." Well, I am here to tell you that their disregard for patients is not a fluke but rather a consistent characterization of their care, their attitude towards other people, and their negligence. I will no longer be receiving care from Dr. Teran or his office and suggest that anyone looking for a primary provider LOOK ELSEWHERE. This ain't it.
