He and his crew did not perform satisfactorily, so I looked up him up on the Contractor License Board website. Justin Vela, Jr. does NOT have a valid California Contractor License. Justin Vela, Jr. sent me a picture of a truck with purported license #452035. I checked the California Contractor License Board and found that the number corresponds to a roofer in La Mirada that went out of business in 1990. The license number that appears on the invoice sent by Justin Vela, Jr., 0209765 shows "no record" with the State. Pursuant to California Business & Professions Code 7031(b), I requested from Justin Vela, Jr., a full refund due to his unlicensed status. He has yet to pay me. He ignores my texts, phone calls, and emails, thinking I will give up and go away. I will not. Unless he settles with me, I will pursue all lawful remedies to recover my money. A person claiming to own this company called me and disavowed any affiliation with Justin Vela, Jr. However, I obtained from him the purported license number quoted above. This person threatened to call his lawyer. I advised her that I have a law degree and am a retired attorney and that I will not be threatened to bullied by anyone.

I was so scared something was going to go terribly wrong.
