I spent a few thousand bucks on a new outboard that came with a faulty fuel line. They wanted to charge me for the repair!

Hello, I am writing this review to express my appreciation…read morefor all the Union Marine team in Bellingham Washington has done for my family and myself. Last August, we bought a 2006 Sea Ray 38 Sundancer from Nick Smith and Grant Haugen. They were super helpful, and so professional. This was a huge deal for us, and was a big upgrade from our previous boat, a 2005 Sundancer 260. An extremely scary experience for those of us not initiated to a large vessel purchase. Nick and Grant made it as easy as possible and went out of their way to help us through the deal. They even allowed us to park the new boat at their dock while necessary repairs were made due to a part failure. I also wish to mention how helpful Kevin Grant and Joel Kallgren have been. I first spoke to these great guys during the purchase process as Kevin coordinated the mechanical survey and Joel did the work. What an outstanding team they are. Very kind, and so professional. Joel has done much work on the new boat and he always does a great job! Kevin is my go to for all mechanical issues on the new boat and not only arranges for work to be done, but has always been there for us in regards to advise and suggestions. These folks on the Union Marine team represent their organization with pride and professionalism not seen much anymore, and we couldn't be happier with all the support they have all provided us. When asked, I always refer folks to the Union Marine team, both sales and service. They are shining stars when so many others fall flat. I hope they know how they have really helped a novice PNW boater from Los Angeles learn to boat and love the San Juan Islands, we truly appreciate all their help. They have become family to us. Thank you very much for all the Union marine team has done for us!

They go the extra mile and give me expert advice; treat my repairs like it was their boat. Between West Coast for my trailerables and BMR for my cabin cruiser, I couldn't be happier. I had emailed them 2 times just to get some info about an older Volvo motor and possibilities regarding it's issue. They never responded so I called them yesterday, and after they found the 2nd email, they answered the questions. So I said please respond to the email. Then today I got a call from a Brandon, while he told me of the possibilities on the phone, he would not put anything in writing, i.e. email response, not even that there are a lack of parts for this motor. I've had good luck dealing with these guys in the past, but I don't know about this Brandon guy and his boss. Finally, upset I did call a 3rd time after being hung up by him twice, and he told me after talking to his boss that they would pass on looking at it, even though they work on Volvo boat motors. Very surprised and disappointed with these guys. Honestly, I hate posting negative reviews and prefer to post 5 stars as I often do for people, but I don't know how anybody can say West Coast Marine Services didn't earn this 1 star! Update: I just got off the phone with Volvo Penta

They sold me the wrong trailer and disappeared--don't make my mistake…read more Tuff Trailer sold me the wrong trailer for my 18'6" Seaswirl Striper and couldn't care less once they got my money. I gave them exact measurements, yet ended up with an oversized, cheap "budget model" I never asked for, impossible to adjust for safe towing. They ignored multiple emails, failed to size the trailer properly, and clearly only care about making a sale. Avoid this company at all costs.

Tuff trailer expects customers pay for shipping and to buy additional parts to make warranty repairs. Details below: I picked up my new TSA5000T about 7 months ago to find it adjusted for a drastically different boat. I have a very common boat, so I was disappointed that they didn't make a better effort. The axles are too far back, so it was impossible to get the tongue weight within their recommendations without the boat overhanging the back of the trailer. They did send me longer bunks for that issue, but that is more of workaround than a resolution. I suspect that they use cheap components because 2 of the 3 tail lights have already failed and the lug nuts started rusting about a week after the first splash in salt water followed by an immediate thorough fresh water rinse. They haven't addressed the lug nuts at all, but I'm sure I'll end up buying new lug nuts for my 7 month old Tuff trailer. They wanted to charge me shipping for the replacement lights, but I bucked enough to get out of that this time. Apparently Tuff Trailer believes that most customer are happy to pay for shipping on warrantied parts that fail shortly after taking possession of the trailer. Upon receiving the replacement lights, I discovered that the delivery was missing parts required for installation. It took almost a week and multiple attempts to get in touch with them, but when I contacted them about the missing parts, instead of just sending them out like any reasonable organization would do, they told me I could make the 700 mile round trip to Tuff Trailer or the 120 mile round trip to my nearest dealer (probably once for drop off and another for pickup). The only alternative they offered to buying parts myself and providing feel labor for a warranty repair on my trailer would be to drive a minimum of 240 miles towing my boat and trailer 1/2 of that distance.
