It's basically a small closed room and outside their are keypads that you use to check in I guess. On the day that I went, the keypads were not working so I went to the pharmacy and they told me to knock on the Labcorp door so someone could assist. This one other guy ahead of me knocked on the door and the lady said that she will be going to lunch and after she is back, she will take folks. Word of advise do not come here from 12-1 because of the lunch hour that the one employee who administers lab work goes on. I waited and when the lunch hour was over, I knocked on the door a couple of times and the lady finally answered and she seemed frustrated. I told her that I'm a walk-in and she tells me to sign into the kiosk. The gentleman that knocked on the door before explicitly told her that the kiosk isn't working. I told her the same and she said "I'm cleaning the room now and once I'm done I'll take you." I said no problem. She took me in finally and since I had to take a urine test, she pointed to the bathroom area that she said that she just cleaned. Usually for urine work, they give you wipes but this lady was like your paperwork doesn't state you need it. In what planet, will a DR. write on a lab form, please have patient use a medicated wipe?! When I entered the bathroom, there was no tissue paper either. This so called lab is missing the basic necessities. I would not go here and instead go to quest! Their facility provides wipes, is clean, and efficient.

Let me start off by saying that when you have cancer it is never easy, but everyone here really tried to do their best to treat us with respect, care and professionalism. There is not much these people can do to change your circumstances but they do try to make their part as painless as possible. Dr. Mekhail's administrative assistant, Teri, is incredible. She keeps a thousand balls up in the air at once and never drops one of them. She comes to the phone when you call, she sets up all of your appointments for their office as well as for scans and blood work or any other testing done outside of their office. She has incredible follow through and she knows who you are when you call or come in. Thank You Teri. Dr. Mekhail's nurse and now part of the protocol research team is Tammy. During the first few appointments Tammy showed such kindness, patience, grace and offered us so much comfort that we will be eternally grateful. She was also full of information and little tips of how to deal with what was going to be happening. Thank You Tammy. In the chemo room a special thank you to Robert and Mel and there was one other woman, a black woman who I apologize - I don't know her name, who treated my friend with such tenderness and warmth AND expertise. You all made the rigors of chemo palatable. Thank you. There are times you will wait. They are incredibly busy. My friend grew impatient at the wait at times, understandably so, she was usually in pain, exhausted, nauseous and anxious. For me, sitting in the chair next to her, I understood the waits. So, There but for the grace of God go I, if I were diagnosed with cancer tomorrow would I go to the Cancer Institute of Florida? Yes, I would. Thank you all for your care during a difficult time.

Dr. Shamoun's staff were available for phone calls and very helpful. The surgery center was new and clean. My nurses Grace, Barbi, Shanell, and Desinee were all very kind and caring. Dr. Shamoun was great. My follow up appointment with Dr. Shamoun will be back at his office in the Gastroenterology of Greater Orlando. I had gastritis so it was urgent that I see a doctor near where I was, not near WInter Park, where…read moreI usually go. I called and she had an appointment available that midday. I asked if I could use the acupuncture Groupon for $39 since I wasn't sure if she would do acupuncture or give me herbs, but she told me that for my condition she could not use that and charged me $99 (and then gave me acupuncture anyway). I had to pay in advance of the service. Upon checkin, I had to fill out a ton of forms, even asking for my drivers license and social security number. I did not fill out those details. It requested that I sign saying that I would get no refund, that the packages expire, that there is no guarantee to the treatment, etc.That already felt invasive. Dr. Liau kept telling me that I had a virus that was causing the gastritis and she would fix me. She gave me acupuncture and added the TENS unit (microcurrent). The treatment was pretty standard. What wasn't standard is the assistant who kept nodding, agreeing, and when she said, "I'm going to put some more needles to help your liver and spleen," the assistant nodded and said, "good idea," in fact, the entire time the assistant followed her around and nodded to everyting she said. At the very end, I was sat down again, and she reiterated the virus causing gastritis, and tried to sell me a package of expensive as heck acupuncture, and started more salesy items for the herbs, which I told her I had to go back to work, and could I please have the herbs for my condition. They were $15 for a large bottle which was mostly empty, and would last me 3 days. There was no evidence that she mixed anything herself, it is all retail premixed herbs. I highly recommend visiting another acupuncturist/herbalist. Feifei Liu in Winter Park is the one I go to all the time, and she's worth the drive.
