First, let me say I joined Navy Federal Credit Union because I felt that they were more customer…read moreoriented than say, Chase Bank. I purchased a used car from them in 2024 and paid it off. I applied for and was given pre-approval to purchase a used car. The rate was 6.49%. I ended up purchasing a new vehicle. I then called Navy Federal credit Union, and asked to have my interest rate adjusted accordingly. I spoke to three different people three different times and was told there was nothing they could do. I called again this past Friday on April 25, 2025 and spoke with two people. The first person I spoke with was reasonable and transferred my call to a supervisor named Robert the last name provided. I told Robert I was disappointed with Navy Federal Credit Union unwillingness too communicate with me in good faith. I didn't say to him "your people could have said to me if I change the terms of the loan, i.e., the number of months financed why wouldn't they modify the loan?" Robert said he would change the interest rate. Based on my recollection of the conversation, he agreed to change the rate from 6.49% to 3% with a 36 month finance plan. I waited to get the revised loan agreement/promissory note and it arrived on yesterday, Monday, April 28, 2025. Unfortunately, it had the terms of the original loan. I called back to Navy Federal Credit Union and asked to speak with a supervisor again. I spoke again with Robert who may or may not have remembered our conversation from three days prior. He said according to the notes, the interest rate should be 3.9% and not 3%. Since according to them, all calls are recorded I asked for a copy of the recorded conversation. I was told I could get a printed transcript and not the actual recording. Having worked in the Legal field for a long time I know that in depositions people are afforded the opportunity to make revisions to the document. I've expressed my concern that without hearing the tape I was left to the mercy of whomever was transcribing from the recording. And, that the transcription may not be inaccurate representation of what was said. This experience caused me to look back at my previous loan with Navy Federal Credit Union. I discovered their business model is not as beneficial to its customers as one would like to believe! Their model does not allow principal payments! Safe for instance you have a loan and you make a $10,000 payment to reduce the amount owed. That amount of money is spread out as if you were making multiple monthly payments. The monthly payments have interest calculated into them, therefore the consumer is not saving as much as they could. Reducing the principle saves the consumer the most amount of money. I strongly encourage everyone to listen closely to the word choice that banking officials use. These people are highly trained to intentionally mislead customers by redirecting you with words that do not answer specific questions, and lead you down the path that distracts you from your initial interest. From what I've seen most banking institutions employee similar tactics to maximize their profits, leaving the customer, unaware that they could've saved the money! As of this moment, I have not received the revised promissory note with the new terms. GN3

PART 2 of my Original review…read more 7. THE COMPANY LIES AND TRIES TO BLAME OTHERS. We reminded her of what she said and then she remembered, "Oh Yeah..." and than said, well, we aren't closing tonight. NO CALL- NO SYMPATHY, and my wife is 7 months pregnant sitting in a car outside waiting to get into her new home. They claimed they "e-mailed" the file over, but the lender specifically receives fax to email transmissions, and furthermore, I was in touch with the lender while standing in front of the representative at the title company. She said she emailed it, the lender was refreshing the Inbox and said nothing has been sent through. As I was talking to the lender, I saw the lady quickly faxing papers, while standing in front of the fax machine, as if trying to block it. She then told me after I hung up that she confirmed it was sent. "CONFIRMED IT WAS SENT AFTER I SAW HER FAXING THEM OVER". She also told me that the lender closes at 5 and there was nothing we could do. I reminded her that the lender stated they would be there until 7:00 pm our time, as they were in a different time zone. Cornered and trapped, she began to rant about time and processes, and how they are there late because of this. I reminded her that it was her JOB to do this, and this is what we paid her to have finished that day, and they didn't finish it. She stood up and asked me to leave at that point because she was caught lying and had no other excuses. 8. The Real Estate Agent and the Lender were all as upset at them as we were, for the Lender had a team of 3 people waiting for paperwork from the title company and stayed late waiting for our files, that were only rec'd AFTER 7:00 pm, where the bank in the other time zone, (EST), was NOW closed. 9. We needed up having to stay in a hotel, extend our U-Haul reservation, take an extra day off from work, and not get everything in our closing paperwork that we should have. 10. I had to call back for warranty paperwork that was left out of our closing file. The company does the job, slow and half ass, but they have: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NO COMPASSION FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S SCHEDULES NO CARE FOR PUTTING PEOPLE OUT IN THE COLD, (LITERALLY), AND TRY AND BLAME OTHERS FOR THEIR TARDINESS IN THEIR END OF THE PROCESS. - Paperwork is not ordered on time - Calls are not picked up - Calls are not returned - Reminder emails to complete processes must be sent by the agents and buyers who are paying them to do the work -Above all COMPANY LIES and blames others to cover up their lack of professionalism We caught them in a lie, and only after we named out steps and hours of operation, and time frames did they step back and change their story. ****PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT USE FIRST AMERICAN TITLE FOR YOUR TITLE NEEDS!!!!**** Stewart Title closed my previous 2 houses and all went well on time and in order. This company made our home buying experience absolutely horrible. and it was ENTIRELY FIRST AMERICAN TITLE'S FAULT. Hope this made sense. Just trying to share our bad experience with this location to help others make an educated decision on who they want handling their financials and new home purchase, or sale. Have a Great Day everyone!
