However, I earned the credits needed for employment. I'm retired with a lot of health problems, and started talking slow walks around the campus last summer. When the community classes brochure arrived, I decided to sign up for aquatics for older adults per my physicians prescription! Unfortunately, the class I signed up for was canceled and I agreed to be switched to an afternoon class. After two classes I realized that it wasn't going to work for me. NO REFUNDS, not even for health related reasons. I didn't let that get me down, instead, I learned that the gym was available for a nominal daily fee, and since I had already purchased the parking pass, I might as well use it!! I've started going a few times a week, riding a stationary bike, using the elliptical (slow and steady on both) and using the weights to strengthen my body. The days and times are not always ideal for me, but it's better than an annual membership, and they're aren't a lot of gym bros there. It's a safe and comfortable environment for me. Today, I signed up for an exercise class, and will start that soon. I'm so happy that the Miwok Aquatics and Fitness Center are available to me when needed. The hammock swing before or after a workout is a bonus for meditation, rest and relaxation.

This review is for the EKG Technician Continuing Education course, Fall 2025, Concord Campus…read more The EKG Technician course is supposed to be an 11.5-week, 60-hour in-person program with instruction and hands-on lab experience, but the reality has been far from what was advertised, and instead a huge disappointment and waste of time. The start of class was delayed a week with no reason and no proactive communication about logistics - I had to reach out the first day of instruction just to find out which classroom to go to and who the instructor would be. Since then, multiple class sessions were canceled or ended early, and we had only about five hours of actual classroom time instead of the nearly 28 hours we should have had by the end of week 4 (minus four canceled classes). The content itself was very disappointing - mostly reading slides (which were a recap of the textbook) and watching YouTube videos with very limited access to equipment or lab practice (which seemed to be an administrative issue). There was no effort to make up missed time, and it's hard to see how students would reach the advertised 60 hours of instruction, let alone pass the course or pass state certification. The instructor appeared to have good intentions, but it seems this last-minute staffing decision left everyone unprepared, including the instructor themself. Attempts to contact Continuing Education for help went unanswered, which is incredibly frustrating for those of us who paid full fees (over $1,600) and commute long distances to attend. To make matters worse, the Concord campus at that time had poor (no) lighting on the walkway from the parking lot, which is definitely a safety concern for evening classes. Overall, this experience has been unprofessional and discouraging. CSU East Bay Continuing Education really needs to address the lack of communication, instructional quality, equipment availability, and basic campus safety before continuing to offer it. BTW, check your local community college instead if similar courses are offered, it will be A LOT cheaper ($46/unit for Cali residents)!

I came by here to get some books for school because it would save me a trip to the Hayward campus…read more Unfortunately, this place is out in the weeds too. It's next to a state park or in the middle of it. So, I came here because I thought it was closer. When I was in grad school before, there was a campus in Walnut Creek. It was in the middle of downtown and was quite easily accessible. But this place isn't. And if there is traffic (and there was) look out! I am glad that I don't have to come here regularly because I'd have to get out of work a good two hours before class to get there on time and then drive all of the way home after class. They aren't open on Friday or Saturdays. But I was able to pick up my books. I was going to look for some school swag but they didn't really have any. In the future, I will have my books sent to me to avoid having to come all of the way out here to pick up two books.

The Weills live in Sonoma and I joke that after his years at Travelers, Citicorp and Shearson he's been trying to buy back his soul. [My dad worked for him in one of their many satellite offices, my sister and I met Sandy Weill in an elevator, funny story] The Weills' money is quietly invested here in the beautiful Green Music Center at Sonoma State College in a natural landscape filled with field flowers and lush grasses. The campus itself is spread out with plentiful student housing rumored to be pretty posh and spacious. Sonoma State seems to have a focus on liberal arts with a concentration in the arts and STEM. The outdoor pool adjacent to the gym is pretty good but the locker rooms are dated, cramped and dirty and in need of an overhaul. You'll see evidence of Peanuts' Charles Schulz at Sonoma State. He was a Sonoma resident as well. Nice campus, small, quiet, tucked away in wine country.

Instead Horacio at best reported the place was only open to new ASUC Cal employees, faculty, staff and part staff to use the swimming pool. I appreciate public adult swimming that is currently open and active in Strawberry Canyon near the Greek theatre. I gathered on the third floor and large table conference room office to create access to WI-FI and go online a lot faster. I had a good reason talking to the swimming pool attendant whom shared more information about new CAL jobs. When I first worked for ASUC CAL Berkeley particularly packaging and pricing alumni wear at the where house shipments and for the campus textbook center ASUC CAL Berkeley. It's a big deal today's holiday for Juneteenth with everything going on in the country now and black history. It's good to consider on a day like unto today and the joy and courage with others on this Federal Holiday commemorating Slaves in the Civil War. Horacio and I honored those to be remembered and he didn't fail to communicate the new job opportunity in the women's locker rooms and swimming. I really appreciate that he mentioned it. It's really important that people feel safe. It just posted for a women's custodial position because they are short staffed. And he was asking me to give it a chance! It is very important to find common ground in this democracy. Indeed an open position was welcomed to me. The faculty, staff, and students believed it was constructive to have a new job working for ASUC CAL Berkeley. The staff and students were willing to contribute similarly when I walked into the building with my bicycle particularly. So socializing with modesty meant everything to me. Tosh LUPOI , my beloved brother was a former student and scholarship athlete that graduated from CAL and went onto coaching NFL nationally recognized Football for Alabama; Crimson Tide, Washington Huskies football team, The Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville, Jaguars football and currently coaches for The Oregon Ducks U of O in Eugene, OR. My dad coached football too. Both football coaches! In the 1980's our family owned a sports medicine business for serious injuries to Olympic athletes and professional race car drivers, too! I think I became mute around others thinking and anticipating that I would re-apply to CAL and by the way logged into Access for WI-FI. Keeping my iPhone in my pocket on the third floor with my road bicycle. My public perception is that I want to feel comfortable as a person and swimmer. Paying tribute to Juneteenth and the principles of freedom and light triumphing over darkness. Celebrating our history and forgetting TRUMP and racist conspiracies about Barack Obama. These intentions in contrast to pilgrims going after the Indians. The debate was over powered with my new confidence for new leading job opportunities. Horacio gave me pricing costs moments after I met him with my road bicycle and verified swimming costs and compliance with pool policies that are offered to employees only or faculty members. Most swimmers are articulate and totally bright or committed! Also thanking Abraham Lincoln for freeing the slaves in the south. Swimming was admissible years ago for the public adult swims. We openly talked about the status with this custodial care position which would be a new responsibility and duty by cleaning and maintenance of women's locker rooms. All my questions were resolved with the good looking guy and man in charge. Thanks so much directly for serving me with constructive support. Encouragement to reestablish contact and pursue a career long term visible right now to protect my future. Opening the door to strength not weakness to democracy that cannot be found anywhere else but with ASUC CAL careers. Horacio suggested swimmers are something strategic to come by seeking ASUC CAL employment. You name it! I really think it's a great idea too! THE SETUP Growing up a Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA), I've enjoyed my countless associations with this SDA denominational institution: (1) I've worshipped in it's church and chapel (2) I've shopped at it's food store (3) My godparents were professors here (4) I graduated from it's sister-institution, Walla Walla University (5) I've hiked considerably in and around PUC's wilderness properties (6) I've attended Forum discussions in several of it's classrooms; (7) I've had a campus police officer pull me over to tell me to slow down; (8) I've attended weddings and wakes here THINGS I WISH COULD CHANGE Whether it's planned or not, one of the desires of this institution's founding fathers & mothers was to - as much as possible - keep it's pristine nature & character, being a bit remote from the sinful world about it.
