If you're having an appliance problem one phone call can usually take care of it (unless after fixing the first thing you find another thing is broke but that should actually be a new problem.) Husband and wife team do nice work getting the necessary parts to keep the house working. Repair parts, consumables, and accessories: they know their business well enough to provide some guidance over the phone and they may even do a once over lightly in the shop if they have a comp available (especially helpful when attempting laundry repairs.) The tech arrived to service a gas leak in our oven but was not equipped with the usual gas sensing meter. After a fairly cursory examination, he concluded that the problem was not with the appliance, but was due instead to corrosion and a split in the inbound flexible gas hose. Since he was not able to service this, he collected the diagnostic fee and left. When a service tech from another firm removed the hose a day later, it was completely free of the problems suggested by the Mr Appliance tech. I guess I can understand that there are some realities about repair jobs that make diagnosis difficult, but I cannot escape the suspicion that Mr Appliance found an easy way out and pocketed my diagnostic fee.

As any reasonable customer would, I asked for a breakdown of the cost and an explanation of how he determined that this specific part was the cause of the problem. He was unable to explain and instead dismissed my questions by saying the washer was old. I followed up by calling the company directly and asked how the same part for a 2004 washer could be found online for around $200. The supervisor responded that they purchase parts from a "reputable website." When I explained that the part I found was an OEM part from a reputable source, no explanation was given for the significant price difference. I then requested to speak with a manager, owner, or someone higher up, but was repeatedly told that no one was available. At no point was a clear diagnosis, justification, or cost breakdown provided. This experience gave the impression that the company assigns inflated, arbitrary prices without being able to clearly explain the root cause of the issue or justify their diagnosis--yet expects customers to blindly trust them. After reading other reviews, I noticed a consistent pattern of similar complaints. At this point, it's clear the issue is not the customers.
