The photographer was good, but she wasn't very good at getting and keeping the dogs attention. We still managed to get some good portraits, but the "red carpet" ones she took on our phones were really bad. The reason I put free in quotations is that they said that it was a free session, then we'd get a free 11 x 17 and we'd get a refund of our $200 deposit after the reveal session. What actually happened was when we went into the session, they ruthlessly tried to sell us very expensive packages and while I kept saying they were too expensive, the saleswoman basically kept saying "well this is why we need you to read the reveal guide before the session". I had read the reveal guide, but I assumed that I must've missed it because the way she was talking about it you would've thought it had much more comprehensive pricing. Ultimately, she just kept making it seem like it was my fault that I couldn't afford the type of packages she was trying to sell and made it very clear that I would not be getting any of my deposit back even if I only wanted digitals. The photos are nice, so I ended up paying the difference to get the basic resolution digitals from our session (which came out to 350 more than the 200 deposit so I paid the difference). They tried to sell me high res for like 1k, which I wasn't going for. I think the quality of these photos is not worth anywhere near the type of money they're trying to charge. They say it's because of the print quality but all the prints hanging in their studio looked frankly cartoonish. I can't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone when you could get a better experience for a better price with so many great photographers in Orlando.

My sister and I haven't lived in Orlando since college, so we had no clue who the local favorite is. She asked her friends and they all recommended NYU Photography. We called for an appointment and booked it. Got a call from Norman and he threw out some photo shoot suggestions, one being, a walking photo shoot. Never heard of it, but said sure. Nevertheless, it was something quite different than your normal staged Lake Eola photo shoot (although we did shoot there at the very end, lol). We met up somewhere in downtown Orlando at a parking lot and so began the shoot. The background selected was nothing extravagant. The poses suggested were nothing forced. The motivation was casual. I believe his main objective was to have us just be relaxed. It wasn't until after we saw the pictures that we realized that his ability to capture crucial moments was better than we anticipated. Got to talk to Norman as we strolled a few blocks. He told me that he just moved back to Orlando from California and picked up photography as a hobby while working as a Nurse, or Murse, FOCKER!!!!! He said he entered some creative photo contest, won, and began taking his craft more serious. Glad we were able to book such a great photographer in the short amount of time that we were there. I'm sure his clientele has grown since our shoot. So, if I were you, I'd book now. The price was never an issue and the quality exceeds what you pay. Take a look at his work. I booked a 2 hour photography session with OWP with hair, makeup, and design in her studio. I met…read morewith Olivia and Chantille a few weeks before my shoot. The photos from my shoot were a gift and I had a deadline. OWP came up with a plan to get me a final product two weeks before my dead line! My first meeting was in the studio, all aspects of design were covered and I pre-ordered a bound book. Although my final costs were more then I wanted to spend ($$$$), the quality of the work was worth every penny. The overall communication with OWP was amazing and the customer service was great. Olivia and Chantille wonderful to work with. The shoot was really fun! Olivia and Yakeima (awesome designer!) made me feel relaxed and kept the mood upbeat and exciting. I have nothing but great memories and would not change a thing about that shoot! A few weeks after my shoot I went back the OWP studio to preview the photos for my book. Viewing my photos was difficult; the computer program was sluggish and loaded everything very slowly. The process was a bit awkward; they had just rearranged the studio and didn't quite have the computer situation or seating figured out so that could have been the problem. Although I am very pleased with the way the photos turned out I felt that the review process took longer than it needed to. The photography itself is amazing. I choose Olivia because her work speaks for itself. The artistic, professional look, and quality of Olivia's photography is exactly what I was looking for when I found her online. I saw the Macbeth Photography station at Florida Blog Con and since I'd heard great things about them and seen their headshots around town I decided to take a turn. Let's be honest- the fact that I had taken the time to doll myself up for the conference was also a deciding factor... It was a quick shoot but as soon as I sat down that familiar, awkward sensation filled my body. Oh boy- I was going to waste some money on these because I look like a mouse caught in headlights (a mouse seems more appropriate than a deer...). Luckily Jim started giving me some direction right away and before I knew it he had captured a great set of images. The image I chose looked effortless, but what you don't see in that picture is the lighting set-up as well as the hostage negotiation it took to get me to look relaxed and natural. A lot of work goes in to those great shots you see on everyone's websites and LinkedIn profiles around town and if you find yourself thinking "Dang, that's a great picture!" there's a great chance Macbeth Photography is behind it. Pro-tip: Macbeth Photography hosts a First Friday photo experience every month with different themed backdrops every time. I've had the chance to go and not only are the backdrops FABULOUS, but his team is also incredibly warm and immediately puts you at ease.
