I would like to be more generous if I could and give the cafe 3.5, but unfortunately it isn't an option! I stopped by this cafe when I was in the local area to have some dessert as it was recommended to me as being good for their cakes.
I had a scone, which you could tell was homemade. The scone was good, but I wasn't a fan that they gave you clotted cream in a jar and the jam in a packet. It kind of took it away from the scone I felt. They would be better off giving you fresh cream in crockery to share between you (there was two of us eating scones) and the jam in a little jar.
I saw some food from the main menu coming out and it looked nice and good portion sizes. You could tell everything was home cooked.
The staff were very friendly and the cafe has free wifi, which was helpful as I couldn't get any signal out there! There was plenty of seating, including tables and chairs plus comfy sofas. They have various items on display around the cafe and pictures on the wall that you can purchase if you wish.
There is also a large outdoor seating area. I was told the spot is quite popular with cyclists and the owner accommodates the cyclists well. read more
