As with any other institution, as an adult student such as myself, or even as a teen student, ultimately, you must bear down and do the work in order to succeed. So to those who have any negative reviews, make sure you outweigh all of your factors. If you're having a trouble with a professor or learning a subject, there's only 2 ways to go with it: either something's wrong with them or you. And usually, at a for-profit/non-traditional college, yes the tuition is higher, and things may or may not be a bit easier. But the class sizes are certainly smaller, and the pace is relatively slow, and able to be accomplished if you put in the work. Strayer has given me two personal success coaches who help me with my goals and track me learning, work, and my overall progress. I left DeVry for Strayer, and I don't regret it! The Morrow GA campus is clean, safe, professional and fun to deal with. I love it!

Clayton State University Student Activites Center

I just recently started to use the center more often now that I am in my senior year at the school and started training a client here. As a student, we are charged fees, which funds the center, so as students, we may as well use it. They recently replaced a lot of the cardio machines up stairs and added a few new weight machines is great. Now if only they had a swimming pool. Non-students can use the gym here as well for a fee and they offer certified personal trainers. Unlike those found at the majority of gyms, the ones here have a background in exercise science and know proper form, etc. I'd recommend students who are interested in exercising, but need help learning proper technique and how to take part in resistance training to sign up for the free personal training sessions offered in the spring done by the students, it will save you about $250 and you get to work with someone who loves fitness. The SAC offers video games, pool table, table soccer, and other activities for students, so definitely check it out if you are near campus. Coming from a school where my children were not eating breakfast until 10AM on summer school days, to walking into a school where they have FRESH breakfast waiting for the children at 6:50 AM during school and summer days. Teachers don't wear shoes nor do they have any clue as to what is going on. Teachers have stated the owner Mrs. Ham does not respect them, tells them to shut up but due to the pay in the area, they quit and come back or stay because they need a job. When brought to the owner's attention about my child's scratches on their face or my concerns about the teacher not resolving conflict, her response "what is it you want me to do about it" YOUR JOB MAAM!!! Depending on a teacher your child has, your child is more than likely to not have their diaper, pull up, or underwear to change if it has been soiled until the end of day. There have been other parents concerned about why their child has had rashes and has broken out on their bottom, because the lack and or negligence of monitoring the children going to the bathroom. let's not mention, they have cameras, however, none of the cameras work in the classroom. So if you have a concern about your child, the answer is always "oh... I don't know, you have to ask Mrs. Ham" or "I dont know." Also, please be aware the clothes you send with your children are more than likely to end up on another child's body and you would never see the clothes you sent with them. When it comes to the "learning Academy" your child would not learn anything. Once again, it really depends upon the teacher that is assigned to your child if they stay and or last more than three months. Other than that, you are better off, teaching your child at home. Don't believe me, ask some of the moms, and or dads that come out every single morning or every single evening. Enroll your child at your own risk. So much potential but very lackluster.

It's so crazy that you have to get it on the record as I have. At first you give them grace because they are a school. They'll even ask for grace. But after months of experiencing what can only be described as a wild goose chase of chaos, you hit a point where you have to say, "NO! This is no longer about grace". This is about fundamental structural and organizational failure. What I experienced went far beyond minor mistakes or student learning curves. And after speaking with a rep from the Barber and Beauty industry, it's clear that Georgia Career Instirute has systemic problems, not one-off oversights. The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers require strict compliance with sanitation, infection control, client safety, supervision and operational protocols. This means at the very least, having fully functional sinks where gook is not coming out and making sure all sinks have continuous hot water. You can't wash relaxer out in cold water. But again, this is minor, however, it undermines sanitation, safety, and basic professional standards. Think about it. If a school can't reliably provide hot water, it signals a much larger breakdown in oversight, infrastructure and accountability. Again, this is minor. There are way bigger problems over here, and I'm certain if the State Board did a random visit and/or disguised as a client, this entire school would be shut down. I do NOT recommend this school under any circumstances and believe it should be fully dissolved to protect students, clients, and the integrity of the profession.

I have had multiple incidents and the director (JaNice) reponds with "I'll have you removed, why are your kind so difficult." when it comes to speaking up for your kid! We have caught this location multiple times either stealing money or sating we haven't paid, which I start asking other parents and they were having the same issues with stealing and lack of communication, left feeling drained and unheard... Needlless to say, enrolli your child is at your own risk but just because a school had "academy and God incorporated" into their schools does make them the best school or the school for your child.
