The inside was super clean and the setup is straightforward so it's not hard to navigate. The young lady at the counter was super friendly and able to answer the few confirmation questions we had. After getting our number and taking a seat, I was able to observe the process. The clerks were spot on with their efficiency as well as you could tell that the structure that was implemented was done with the customer in mind. Once at the window, the questions were asked, paperwork was provided, and we were on our way. I'm talking swift processing time, good service, and a customer focused experience as a whole. It was busy on a Tuesday morning around 8:45 am when my son and I stood in line for his learner's…read morepermit written test. Line was 20 people outside the door of the location and it took about 30 min to get to the front. There is security who directs the line, and a staff member who makes sure you have all needed documents before you can get a ticket. Save yourself time by filling out an application online which will have a 10 digit code. There are eight computers available if you forgot to print one of the four documents I needed I to print my son's school schedule to show school enrollment. Unfortunately it did not print as a pdf so my son had to reprint it after he took his written test. By the time we got to front of line and showed our documents, it was time to stand in line for our ticket number. Son took an eye exam and he says the lights were not working. He was able to take the written test on the computer and then we waited our turn to get his permit. And waited. And waited. Make sure you check back in with the counter after you finish your test. Otherwise you will wait forever. Parking is super easy at South DeKalb Mall and I would suggest not coming on a Tuesday before 1030 am due to longer waits. They accept credit cards and Apple Pay and Google pay for the $10 fee for permit. Staff is polite and friendly for the high volume of customers they serve. Two hours for our visit! Glad I brought my patience today.

She assisted us with making copies and politely guided us to the seating area. 15 minutes later, we are called and Mrs Tai R. was really welcoming, and she too had an amazing smile on her face. Fortunately for me, the wait was not long. I had all of my paperwork and truthfully, the associate was so nice! Just a tip for those parents wondering what two valid supporting documents are needed. A certificate of school enrollment from school would be 1 and the other could be your car registration with the parents name and current mailing address on it. My son took his permit test here and we brought health insurance card thinking that would suffice since it has both our sons name and parents name on there but it didn't have a mailing address on it so the initial clerk rejected it. What was a little confusing to us was that we didn't have any bills or documents with Both my son's name and our name on it. Kind of in a bind and not wanting to have to drive back home to get another supporting documents, she said a current car registration with my name on it, would suffice despite it being my son who was taking the test. The clerk at the window was very kind and helpful and my son took the permit test with no issues. Wait was not bad at all and facilities were clean. 3.4 stars rounded up since its summer make this review a solid 4!
