One day if I can find that photo, I'll attach it to this post. Every time I drive along 680 and see that Day Star sign, I'm so glad the school is still there. From the recent reviews, it seems the school is still thriving. Just wanted parents to know that this school has a solid foundation as an incredible school from its beginnings. The teachers are patient, caring, and genuinely invested in the children's growth. Whenever we had concerns, they were always willing to listen, work with us, and support our child in becoming more confident and comfortable in social settings. Another thing we really appreciate is the schedule. The school has relatively few closure days compared to many other programs, which is very helpful for working parents. If you need extended care until 6:00 PM, there are also many enrichment activities available, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore new interests. We're grateful for the care and support our child has received here and would highly recommend Day Star Montessori to other families.

A special shout out to Ms Meenal the director for making it easy for us and the transition from beginning to eventually full time enrollment. It was so seamless because she pays attention to the kids and will let you know what to do when the time is right for your child. The other shout out I have to give is Ms Wannie for being such a great teacher for Olive. Olive comes home every day and mentions her and what Ms Wannie taught her today. I want to share a funny story to show how grown up she is already. At 2.5 years old she told her mom she was thirsty and to get her some water. Her mom said to her "you're a big girl you can get up and get your own water". Her response was "mama a big girl too, get Olive water". She made her mom carry her from the bed to the kitchen to get her water hahaha.

If you've added Calaveras Montessori to your list of potential preschool/ day care, I recommend signing up for their initial introduction call sooner than later. Openings are limited and the school has a very respectful structured enrollment process. As a first time mom, it kind of felt like a lot just to get my little one in somewhere but after seeing 6 others in the area it was worth being patient. Miss Amanda runs the school and I love how she talks about the school, the teachers, parents and teachers. She runs a tight ship but it allows everything at the school to be all the greatness that it is. The classrooms are clean and well taken care off (I saw others and it was very well maintained). They do take days off randomly during the year for teacher learning and parent conferences - feels like they're invested and not high turn over. The communication over the app is phenomenal. I never feel like I have any questions only praise. The kids have structure but they also have options for autonomy. My son is happy to see but doesn't want to leave right away. Nothing is a better feeling then seeing his growth over the last 5 months and his affection for the staff. Overall, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive, and caring throughout my daughter's milestones and development. From her teachers and teacher assistants (there have been many over the years, so it would be difficult to list them all) to the front desk staff Ms. Cassandra, Ms. Cindy, and Ms. Chitra, everyone has always been helpful, accommodating, and attentive to my daughter's needs and communication. The facility is clean, organized, and always feels safe. It was a brand-new school when we first enrolled, and they have continued to maintain the property and improve their operations over time. There is also plenty of parking, which makes drop-off and pick-up very convenient for parents. One thing I truly appreciate is how the school continuously strives to improve and enhance safety for the children. Over the years, they have implemented several positive changes, such as installing doorbell alerts when classroom doors are opened, tracking and documenting classroom attendance to ensure every child is accounted for, and upgrading their communication system. Parents can now easily view photos and receive updates about their child's daily activities and progress through the app. Most importantly, I have seen tremendous growth in my daughter since attending Learn & Play. Ms Rashmi, from her experience, analyzed our daughter quickly and assured us that we don't need to worry much & that we'll start seeing improvements in her in couple of months' time. Our kid not only improved in verbal communication, but in behavioral aspects as well. She has become much more organized & disciplined. She likes helping out her friends & parents. Before attending the school, she never liked looking at books, but she quickly became fascinated with them. Her vocabulary has improved, She has also learnt to count numbers & can sing many rhymes now. The major credit of this improvement goes to the class environment created by Ms Rashmi, who is very ably supported by Ms Tiffany. Our daughter has now graduated to Dolphin class & we hope that she'll continue on the path of well rounded development .

Its also why I have sent both my daughter and now my son to the school. The teachers, Ms. Aida, Ms. Ishira, Ms. Kat, and the director Ms. Selva are both long time members of this school and what makes this place so special. They have the experience, training, and kindness to handle the kids. Simple things such as calming a scared child when you drop them off for the first time at school to having them go through potty training, are handled like they have gone through it a hundred times, which they probably have. The curriculum is solid. The kids are taught through hands on lessons at the individual stations. Stations that change constantly as the lessons progress throughout the year. Things such as letters, colors, science, and math are all covered at various times of the year. The activities they have going on throughout the year provides the child an understanding to things outside of a normal curriculum. GV does things such as having guest appearances from firefighters and police officers, celebrating Indian and Asian holidays, and having various field trips all provide the children with knowledge that they can only make away from the classroom. The year end performance is priceless and the teachers work hard to get the kids to dance in them. I know because I've dropped by during their practice times. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough.

They took extra care to comfort her whenever she felt anxious and helped her slowly build confidence and comfort in a social setting. The fresh, home-cooked hot meals every day were amazing, and the early dinner at 4 PM was incredibly helpful for our family routine after pickup. Beyond academics and play, this daycare places a strong emphasis on values -- teaching children to say "thank you," to be kind, generous, and graceful with others. We've seen those lessons reflected in our daughter every day. We are deeply grateful to all the teachers and staff for helping shape such an important part of her childhood. Sabrina has been so much more than a teacher - she has been a true partner in raising our children the last 4 years. We feel extremely lucky to have found this second home. Fresh Meals & Activities: She makes fresh, hot meals and ensures the kids actually eat and are well fed. She also provided them with dinner at 4pm and so the kids are not cranky/hangry when you pick them up in the evening - this is a lifesaver! The days are packed with fun learning activities, and the kids always come home talking about painting, singing, and dancing. Parent-Friendly Logistics: Because it is a home-based daycare, the pickup time was slightly flexible, which was a lifesaver on heavy traffic days. Amazing Staff: The entire team is fantastic. A special shoutout to Teacher Maggie, whom our kids absolutely love. If you are looking for a safe, nurturing, and structured first daycare for your little one, we cannot recommend Sabrina and MCCLC enough.
