Really fast shipping AND, good prices, AND great selection. These guys typically beat Amazon on all counts. Can't go wrong with Clay-King read more

I have ordered so much online over the last year that when John picked vacationing in NC and SC I was excited to see if we could stop by the retail store while traveling! Clay King did not disappoint either. Again, John was egging me on- picking out glazes and he approved when I found cat resist stickers. Soolla bags are newly stocked by Clay King too- a small business helping another small business! Basically all of your pottery/ceramics needs are easily filled here! I snagged glazes, mason stains, tools and more in this shop and left grinning ear to ear. The cashier even hooked me up with a coupon after I said I regretted not bringing mine from home (every online order packs a coupon inside!). This was one of many kid-in-a-candy-store moments while on vacation! read more

Incredible selection with fair prices and quite possibly the fastest shipping outside of Amazon next day I've ever had. I will definitely buy more tools from them in the future. read more

Very disappointed in the company's carelessness and the way their customer service handles mistakes. I ordered a kiln from them and they inputted my address incorrectly, resulting in my kiln shipping to a completely different state. When making such a big purchase, I would expect things like this to be checked more thoroughly. When I contacted the sales manager, Erin, to resolve this issue, she did not apologize nor did she seem to care. I ended up speaking with the shipping company directly, then I had to relay the messages to Erin because she didn't know how to solve the problem. I passed messages back and forth between the two parties, even though I feel it should've been Clay King's responsibility to contact the shipping company directly to begin with. A few weeks later, I placed an order of glazes and one of them had exploded/spilled in transit. I sent an email to customer service and got no reply. I ended up sending 2 more after that (it's been about 2 weeks), and they are completely ignoring me. I don't really think there's much I can do at this point but I'm definitely not ordering from them again. read more

Clay-King - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Spartanburg, South Carolina

Found this place through a potter's recommendation. Starting a home studio, purchased their master basic studio start up package. By far the most competitively priced ceramic goods on the market, and so convenient for them to be bundled. Since the price was so low, demand is high during COVID, and we needed cross-country shipping, I expected things to take at least a month, but was pleasantly surprised when I got a shipping notice the next day saying my items were on the way. Everything arrived in a little over a week, completely, and without damage. This package is legit. I had budgeted for a Skutt but figured within my budget I could only afford the 822. Ended up with the 1218 with shelf kit and vent for cheaper than the 822 alone. Hell yeah. Shimpo Whisper was a nicer wheel than I thought I could afford, too. That puppy is QUIET. I have a newborn and I'm lovin the lack of noise while baby is sleeping. Never heard of a Griffin Grip, figured hey, why not, it's in the package. It makes trimming so convenient! Love it. I know the website quotes the list price for all the items combined at $7k-ish, but I have priced those goods out individually from their competitors and it's gotten closer to $10k, so color me impressed, my dudes. I would highly recommend purchasing from Clay King. It's going to save a lot of hassle without sacrificing the quality of what you buy. read more

I LOVE this pottery supply store. I order online. Their stock is amazing, pricing is excellent, customer service is the best and they ship more quickly than any other. read more

I ordered a firebox 8 kiln and the furniture kit. I received the firebox kiln, but was missing the furniture kit. It took another week to get the furniture kit, but when I got it it was incomplete. Yes, unbelievable two orders incomplete. Also, I saw the kiln cheaper on another website, I was told they would do a price match, it's been several days and I have not received the price match refund. So now i have an overpriced kiln I can't use because i don't have all the necessary parts. You would think that they would be more apologetic about the whole situation, but instead I feel like I'm the one apologizing to them! Oh and keep in mind that if you want to return it, you will have to pay for shipping, which for this small kiln is $100 minimum. read more

Really impressed with Clay King's customer service. I had an order issue that was not Clay King's fault and they went above and beyond to resolve the issue when they didn't have to do anything at all. I will definitely be buying more supplies from this company in the future. read more

Ordered a kiln from clay king. Not only did it come in early, the staff was communicative and it was cheaper than every other place. Cant beat that combination read more

Clay-King doesn't respond to emails and calls in a timely and professional manner. I wanted to exchange a product and did my due diligence in communicating my needs. They, however, shipped the product without reading and listening to my requests. read more

Worst customer experience ever. We ordered 2 years ago or so lots of products worth more 7k we had no problem. Well this time! The sales manager "Erin" she didn't even look at our items she came with excuses to not ship even tho we asked to ship the items domestically. She said we dont ship overseas! I clarified that with her that we need the items to be shipped across the country and she hit me with another excuse that they dont fill an order this size after asking me to send her the list of items we needed again. She didn't even bother looking at the items needed in the first place or even checking the address we want the items to be shipped to! Plus the bad tone she had. Wont bother checking their company again read more

Had really high hopes for this company as one of my favorite potters on instagram is constantly sponsored by them but both times I've ordered from this website I was sorely disappointed. The first order was $580 and they sent it to the wrong address. It pulled an old address from paypal instead of the one I typed in on the actual clayking website. I called as soon as I realized and they fixed the shipping label. I guess they mislabeled the wrong box because I was sent one box that had another woman's order in it which they asked me to ship to her for them. They never thanked me either! And my other box with the major bulk of the glazes still got shipped to my old house that I no longer had access to. Guess what I was told! To go back over there and look for it! I no longer had access to the neighborhood as it's a gated community and the codes change once a month. I was able to find a neighbor on Facebook and message them to see if they could grab it for me. Yet again not a word of thanks after the many phone calls back of forth of them trying to get me to locate the package. Just a "wow that's a relief". The customer service is extremely extremely lacking to treat someone like that after several mistakes on their end. They seem more relieved to not have to rectify the situation in any way possible than to be apologetic to the customer. So after that headache I probably should've never ordered from this website again but I put in another order this time for $200 as I keep hearing so many great things about this website and I trust that the first time is a fluke. Packaging must not be their forte because they just threw all the products in the box and sent it right over to me. All the bats couldn't sit in the box right and it was bulging upon arrival. How the studio pro bats didn't get damaged from being sloshed around in transit is a miracle to me. They were all loose in there with the rest of the items. Order from here with extreme caution. They never tried to do right by me with my situation but lots of other people love this company so my situations could just be rare. It is a shame though that I spent so money and they only thought about that from their end and weren't apologetic in the slightest. read more

A devotee to the largest online retailer in the U.S., I am always hesitant to cyber shop anywhere else. However, A@*#%n's selection of pottery supplies leaves something to be desired. CUSTOMER SERVICE: A + After researching several online pottery supply businesses, I decided to give Clay-King a try. What a great decision! Their customer service is as good as it gets. During business hours, their website offers a live chat option. While many online retailers offer a similar feature, Clay-King takes live chat to another level. You won't find yourself chatting with someone whose named you can't pronounce replying with canned responses to buy them time because you're one of 20 customers they're trying to assist simultaneously. At Clay-King.com, one of their exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable in-house staff responds to your chat request. Don't believe me? Try it. INVENTORY: A + Mother lode. You'll feel like a kid in a candy store. Seriously. PRICES: A + Outstanding. From their wide selection of kilns to clay stamps, their prices are competitive and more often than not well below the competition. SHIPPING COSTS: A + I live on the west coast and usually pay through the nose to have items shipped to me from anywhere east of Arizona. I was pleasantly surprised by Clay-King's reasonable shipping costs. PROCESSING TIME: A + Your order ships the same day you place it or the next business day if it's placed after 3 p.m. EST. PACKING: A + The greatest customer service, inventory, prices, processing time and shipping costs mean nothing to me if my order arrives damaged during the shipping process due to insufficient packing materials. The folks at Clay-King prepare my orders with plenty of packing materials and when ready-to-use ceramic glazes are included, each container's lid is screwed down tightly and packing tape is wrapped around it to prevent leaks. This attention to detail ensures my orders arrive undamaged. Clay-King consistently offers what I have found to be in short supply when shopping online: that elusive combination of old-fashioned customer service and 21st century efficiency. Note: I was not paid or compensated for writing and posting the above review. My rating is honest, independent and based on my personal experience. read more

I love clay king! I purchase all my tools and supplies from them. They offer some of the lowest prices around, and they ship my order out super quickly--within 24 hours of placing my order! I've ordered from other online ceramic stores, but no one beats their prices or their super fast shipping. I would recommend them to any ceramicist! read more

I purchased a wheel/kiln combo from Clay-King during a sale that offered free shipping. After I purchased it online, I received a call a few days later from them explaining that my purchase is missing shipping fees. My order was to be sent to Puerto Rico, but "they don't ship overseas", yet they sent me a PayPal request for another $500 in shipping to complete the original order. Then, a few days later, I got another email from CK saying they cancelled my order entirely, and if I wanted to continue with the order I would need to send them a bank transfer with the original payment plus the 500 additional. This felt sketchy, and I asked why, but all they told me was they had a bad experience before, but wouldn't elaborate. I sent them the bank money order. (Almost 2 weeks has gone by now) The order goes through, and I got an email with tracking information from company A.. a few days later I called company A for an eta since the website wasn't giving me any information. They inform me that another company, Arrowpak, has taken over the shipping process now, and to contact them. Arrowpak answers the phone, and tells me an eta: 2 more weeks. I finally get an email saying my package landed, but, I learn that I have *more* fees to pay to pick up my package in Puerto Rico, so it's stuck at the port until I pay. I called Clay-King to ask why they omitted all of this information, and they simply said that their shipping fees only covered their package's arrival to Florida. A month has gone by now, and my original shipping address is no longer relevant, so I needed to get the shipping address changed. This process takes over two weeks for some reason, and now I'm being charged fees from the warehouse that's holding my package in PR, and from the first shipping company A to change the paperwork, in order to finally get my package released from being held hostage. I still haven't received my package yet, and I started this process before Christmas. Granted this isn't *all* Clay-King problems, but they are affiliated with these other companies too. I'm extremely irritated with this entire process and will not be purchasing from Clay-King again unless this is remedied somehow. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I can't overlook this one. read more

I was leery at first because I couldn't find any reviews for this company however I was instantly set at ease with little more than a phone call. Clay-Kings staff is awesome! Being a web designer I was instantly impressed with their modern user friendly website, great prices and no hidden fees. I had made in error in purchasing a lower end potters wheel and when returning it I expected to pay many fees including restocking and shipping however they were very reasonable. read more

I purchased a Kiln from Clay-King. The Sales rep that answered my call was very helpful. The Kiln arrived when promised with no damage. I discovered upon opening the box that Clay-King had pre-drilled the kiln for the options I ordered and everything was ready to go. After my test firing, I had a question on the results and called the store. Not only did I get a live person and not a phone tree, but the person that answered the phone knew the answers to my questions. It has been a long time since I have seen customer service this good. They will be getting my repeat business. read more

I found Clay-King after another major on-line vendor could not deliver a Kiln. I am extremely pleased with Clay-Kings customer service. I worked mostly with a gentleman named Austin. When I ordered the kiln, I received a shipment confirmation the same day. Very impressive for a 700 pound piece of equipment. I've called their tech folks with questions and received top notch information and advice. A few months later I ordered additional accessories (vent system) for the kiln and same positive experience. These folks have a heck of an operation. Highly recommend. If you have any questions just give them a call. Theirs folks are very knowledgeable and friendly. Kudos Clay-King!! read more
