The food is fairly reasonably and good, though I tend to brings my own drinks as it can work expensive with fruit shoots at a £1 a time. There is a large car park so it is fairly easy to park. The toilets are clean and they have baby changing facilities. There is a light sensory room in the younger childrens section, as well as a ball pool, little playhouses, slide, tunnel and various other toys. In the older childrens section they have bouncy castle slides, plus a very large slide, rope ladders, ball pools, tunnels, and best of all everything is padded to avoid any accidents. There is a climbing wall and they are often painting faces and giving out balloons.

There is a little teashop on the premises (where you pay your admission fee) and then you walk into the 'farm'. You will be greeted by owls of all shapes and sizes. Follow the path to find all sorts of goats, sheep, chickens and lots more besides. My toddler had a great time, even if she was a bit scared of the goats (who are a bit over-friendly LOL!) I can't imagine older kids or teenagers enjoying it that much though. A must-see.

At the entrance you are given a bag of food to give to the animals. You can touch all the animals. I loved the sheep with the floppy ears. At the time of my visit (April) there was lambs that you could bottle feed which I did so sweet. If you want to touch the birds of prey then you will have to ask a member of staff who then will bring them over to you. They also have red /black squirrels (in a cage). You can also feed the squirrels just ask a member of staff for some monkey nuts. I found the squirrels preferred it when the nuts where given out of the shell. When I visited there was some lambs so I was allowed to bottle feed the lambs which was amazing. Totnes is a beautiful small place set behind a train station so you have to park your car at the station and walk around the station and over a bridge and over the train track to get there (only a short walk) but well worth it. Only need a hour or so at the farm as very small. There is a café if you would like to grab a bite to watch the steam train go by or even take in the scenery around. Would recommend a visit.

The setting is an old estate and their are child oriented family outdoor activities set throughout the grounds, with something for all ages of kids, from toddler areas up to some fairly daring stuff for teens. There are assault courses throught the trees, zip slides, pirate ship in the lake, (bit stony-use beach shoes/crocks) wooden forts etc. It's all made of wood, and is a lovely, natural setting in woodland for an old fashioned fun family day out. Its the sort of place where kids feel they've done something a bit brave and builds confidence but is safe. There are also bookable activities such as canoeing, climbing and high ropes for the really adventurous.

Junk food at its worst - fatty, flavourless, and poorly prepared; and no healthy options or fruit. And packaged like there is no tomorrow; no obvious recycling options either. We need healthy, child-friendly food with minimal packaging. If we go again we'll take our own food.

Admission prices to these kind of places always seem steep to me, but in reality and taking in all there is on site, the admission is very reasonable. I would agree with @peteburden that the food is pretty grim. The kind of fast food that you get at a fun fair or similar, so there are no surprises. But there are areas to eat a picnic if you want to bring your own food, which helps. And you can leave the park and return later via the usual wristband/hand stamp route. I have been with my family a couple of times now, and have had both good and bad weather. Woodlands make a lot of the fact that there is plenty to do in all weather, and I have found this to be true indeed. While bad weather is always going to limit the appeal of such places, Woodlands has a lot of indoor play areas, and these are aimed at kids of different ages, so you don't need to worry about toddlers being knocked about by older kids. Although obviously one has to be vigilent. We will be holidaying in the area again this year, and will be certainly paying Woodlands another visit. Also, at the moment (27/04/11) on the Woodlands website there is an offer of a 6 day admission for little more than an individual day's price.

The only downside are the prices, I find that the swimming is quite expensive for a family of 5.

The queues can be a little off putting but it is worth the wait, maybe a few more slides would ease the queues a little. Unfortunately this is a day out that is reliant on the weather and that can be a big problem if this summer is anything to go by.
