I felt from the very beginning our doctor never really listened or cared for my son - but was too afraid to switch doctors since everyone told me they were the best. a few years into his care- his bad eye got scratched again and this time it got infected. I was desperate to get him into a specialist and his doctor at Wolfe couldn't get him in for another month. I knew we couldn't wait. I started calling around trying to get him in to see someone right away. PHYSICIANS eye clinic was first on my list and they had a cancellation and was able to get my son in the next day. from the front desk , to the nurse taking him back- to the doctor / s ( we have seen 2 at this clinic ) I could tell - we had finally landed in a place that cared. his primary doctor is Mrs. Amspaugh - she is a mom too , on top of being a doctor and you can tell she really cares. she is super smart - but does't treat you any less , like at WOLFE. I know her schedule was packed for the next few weeks but she literally would get my son in everyday on her lunch hour to follow up with his eye. after a few weeks under her care, she went on vacation and left us with her co/worker - Mr. Hassan - who is just as smart and kind. we feel so grateful to have stumbled upon this office , filled with a staff of very smart , kind , helpful - caring doctors & staff. It took a month before hearing back, then I was informed my prescription was out dated. She left a message on my phone, don't call us will call you. This went on for another two weeks, once I called they said my glasses were in. I returned home, the lenses were scrach, on top that I had a veterans exam. I am informed that I need to have another exam in that it was not approved by the veterans affairs. Veterans don't brother going to this business for exams.

The only complaint or suggestion I have is that the dr requires a cornea testing for new patients annually; I have no problem with this except that there was no asking me if I would like to do it or if I could afford the $40 it would cost as insurance does not cover it. My experience with the eye doctor was a great one and this review has nothing to do with his…read moreprofessional abilities but with the front desk staff who after I asked whether my insurance would cover my visit confirmed that it would. At the end of my visit, I was charged an exuberant amount for a contact eye evaluation of $85 and paid an overwhelming $150 out the door with what I went in for. The fact that I wasn't actually going to be covered for the contact evaluation was not told to me and that I would still have to pay an additional $35 for a co-payment which normally should cover exam fees was also not explained to me. I don't beleive the front dest staff did a good job at all with this matter which made my overall visit very displeasing. Again, the eye doctor was great . I just feel front desk staff should not provide misinformation and put in more effort to explain costs to patients prior to services being rendered.
