I filed a bankruptcy in 2017 with Adam Weiner. The level of experience, kindness, and…read moreresponsiveness of his office is unmatched. There are several options in the Portland metro, but the difference with Adam's law firms and others is that he is not here to sell you on something, but to help you navigate a difficult time and to give you knowledge about better options for the future. His rates were reasonable, and although I borrowed money to pay the whole fee at the time, he does take payments, as I recall. His office was very quick at responding to any questions or concerns. The reason for this late review is that, unfortunately, my family made a series of mistakes that landed us back in bankruptcy. Even worse, I let my embarrassment over our situation prevent us from choosing this office again and going with a much less capable firm. Don't make my mistake. Adam Weiner's office is the one you want, hands down. Having been through two bankruptcies, I have to say that this is the one I recommend to friends and family. They are very organized in setting you up for filing, treat you with respect, and help you navigate what can be a pretty overwhelming process. A bad law firm makes bankruptcy feel more stressful. With Adam Weiner every week it gets easier and easier and you'll end up feeling like you have a fresh start and were treated well by him.

When life…read morethrows you blows, that you don't even know how to begin to handle, Laura is right there to help you every step of the way. She's extremely knowledgeable on the subject and had all the answers I needed. Laura Zaro and her assistant Jamie are very kind, personable and professional. They are both very responsive and, in a time, where I felt clueless, having them on my side, made all the difference. They literally took care of everything and made a scary situation, seem so calm and easy to deal with. Because of Zaro Law, my bankruptcy is now complete, and I am able to start re-building my credit with a fresh start. I learned so much from Laura and I truly appreciate how she cared so much and was willing to go above and beyond. Her prices are more than fair, and she offers a very helpful payment plan. Laura is very thorough and knows what she is doing. She's literally a God send, and I am so very thankful that I came across her and decided to stick with her. I was able to keep my house and car, which other attorneys said I wouldn't have been able to. I sure hope to never need Laura's services again, but I would hire her back in a heartbeat if I ever did, and surely, I'd recommend her to anyone needing bankruptcy assistance. She's definitely one of a kind and very much appreciated. Thank You, Zaro Law!!! - DeAndre

She and her small staff are amazing. They took a messy, somewhat unbelievable circumstance and smoothed matters out - dealt with the courts, with the state in true professional style! Her terms were more than fair, and she thoroughly understands the situation so many of us are in - that we don't have thousands of dollars to hire a firm to begin with! I don't know if something has happened to them recently but I truly can't understand all these high…read morereviews. I had, and am still having, a terrible experience. I felt like I never knew what was coming next, and my paralegal generally seemed annoyed and dead pan. They did not explain the car loan reaffirmation process to me at all. AND THEN, they *misplaced* my reaffirmation paperwork and TEXTED ME to send it ASAP because the deadline was almost closed. I had, in fact, sent them exactly what they needed weeks prior. The lawyer I was assigned, Ted, didn't even show up to the meeting of trustees. It was Michael, which really adds to the sense of uncertainty and lack of support I felt the entire time. I called last Friday afternoon to find out if my debt had been cleared because, as the pattern I have already explained continued, they *didn't tell me* how I would be notified when the debt was gone. It is now Wednesday and they haven't called back, despite their voicemail saying "all calls will be returned in 24 business hours." I logged in to Experian and saw that my debt is in fact cleared but the report says my auto loan IS CLOSED. I don't know if the reaffirmation is still in process, or if this is true, which, again, I should know the process. They also overcharged me by a month because they just... didn't stop my automatic monthly payments at the right date. I have felt extreme amounts of anxiety this entire time. I don't even feel any sense of relief about my debt being gone because I don't know what is happening with my car, and because I've just felt so unseen and so disrespected and disregarded throughout the process. I highly recommend using a different lawyer.
